Tucked away, in a secluded forest surrounding, Wensley House is located just a stone’s throw from the charming town centre of Epping.

All en-suite (some also with wet rooms) personalised rooms, a modern nurse call system, an advanced addressable fire alarm (pinpoints by exact location), and a gated development to allow for walks and an outdoor lifestyle and dining are just some of the things that make this a welcome home.

Be it the Oak Room, with warm oak walls where you can receive entertainers, enjoy movies, religious services, or the Garden Room, with end-to-end patio doors bringing the summer indoors, the airy conservatory to share with new resident budgies, or the dining room for all day refreshments and a choice of meals freshly prepared by a chef on the premises (top five star food hygiene rating) there is always a place to relax.

Friendly and warm staff really care about what they do and take pride in supporting you as you maintain both dignity and independence and regularly form close bonds with the residents and families. As a small, family run business, the directors are also here on a daily basis to support the staff and residents in the provision of excellent care. Staff receive all required checks and commence under review status for several months shadowing experts supported with advanced training with industry experts before becoming part of the team.

  • Wensley House have an open door policy and welcome visitors to come and have a look around and perhaps enjoy some tea and biscuits if time permits. It is advised to look at more than one home and to be sure to visit any home of interest as this normally gives a true feel of a place, which is what really gives the idea of a place more than anything else.

Finding a suitable care home is an absolute nightmare........the nightmare ended when I found Wensley House. As soon as I made the phone call I knew I would be welcomed.


My mother was not an easy resident to look after due to her being so unhappy at losing her independence but all the staff at Wensley

were so encouraging and welcoming despite her constant irritability. We were welcomed also as a family and I actually enjoyed seeing the staff each time I visited and knew mum was being well cared for. There were occasions whereby staff did not know I had arrived and I could hear them talking to mum in a caring manner and never once lost their patience.


Unfortunately, mum passed away on 11th November and was never able to fully appreciate the care and attention she was given at Wensley but we as a family could not fault any aspect of the care from all the staff.


I would highly recommend Wensley House and hope it is still going strong if and when I need care. Thank you, everyone!!

Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who treat the residents. They are caring, respectful and treat the residents as one of their own family. My mum was very happy there and I have nothing but praise for the staff.

Staff lovely and friendly, its wonderful to see the bond Mum has made with the staff since she has been at the home. Families actively encouraged to go to staff with any suggestions/issues relating to relative or home.

Finding a 'caring home' for my mother, when my father passed away after 67 years years of marriage, was a daunting and sad time. After visiting numerous care homes, the task of finding a 'home from home' environment seemed an impossible task. However, Wensley House, has achieved what we thought to be
the impossible. This home is outstanding ! Read all the reports, but please, take the time to visit Wensley House, you will not be disappointed. The management and all the staff, show such dedication and a caring and loving understanding of their residents needs. This is a 'Happy Home' and offers a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for all the residents.
