Crowstone House, which was rated 'Outstanding' by the CQC in January 2018, is situated on the sea front at Westcliff-on-Sea, the view from the main lounge overlooks the Thames Estuary and whether a beautiful sunny day or wild and windy the view is always very exceptional. Westcliff, as it borders Southend, has been classified as a conservation area to preserve its beauty. Crowstone with a classical feature turret room used for activities, is an older building full of character and offers you a home from home. There are lifts but the staircase is magnificent summing up the splendour of Crowstone. All around there is a friendly and enchanting environment, especially the snoozelum room. Mum has been a resident for the last 10 months and I cant priase the staff enough for the way they look after her. She is always happy when we visit. We are kept well informed about her health and any doctors visits etc. Food is always fresh nd looks tasty and always plentiful. The home is clean and
tidy, mums clothes are always clean. Mum has enjoyed days out and staff often involve he rin regular activities. I wouldn't have anywhere else look after her.

I visit my mother almost everyday. Every time she is always happy and smiling. I'm very impressed overall with the effort every member of staff goes to too involve everybody in each of the many activities and games available. Every kind of hobby and interest is catered for and staff always look for
suggestions and ideas for new activities all the time, along with varied days out and minibus trips.

My mother has been a full time resident since November 2023. I cannot fault the care and attention she receives, all staff are very caring and well trained. It is a safe, happy and welcoming place to visit. The management and admin staff are brilliant. I am happy in the knowledge that my mum is safe.

Crowstone House is a great care home. Very professional and caring staff, always on hand to speak regarding a relative, the carers keep you updated with all incidents and are very friendly. The residents are entertained and well looked after. You can visit at any time and are always welcomed, the rooms
are clean and tidy as are all the communal areas. Mum is happy and made friends.

Both my parents moved in initially in September 2023. Unfortunately, my dad died in November that year. Mum has received sympathetic care from regular and consistent staffing and management. Any concerns are dealt with by appropriate staff. The home is a happy, loving home for my mum and I feel content
that she is receiving the care she now needs.

From the start of my brother's stay until his death over 3 years later, I cannot fault Crowstone House. They did everything possible to make his days fun and safe. He considered the staff his family. Lovely, happy atmosphere, highly recommend. Thank you all.

I find Crowstone House very accommodating. The staff gets involved with the residents. The activities are very good and the activities lady works very hard to keep the residents occupied. There are weekly minibus trips to various places organised by the activities coordinator.
My wife has a dislike
for some of the dishes that are served.

I have been truly touched by the warmth and care shown in this beautiful home. The staff's dedication to meeting the resident's needs goes above and beyond. They are always engaging in activities like music and live performances and the food looks truly delightful. The availability of tea and biscuits
in the morning and afternoon, followed by the evening tea, creates a comforting and welcoming atmosphere.

My father was sent to Crowstone Care Home from the hospital for extended nursing care for physio to get him walking again and socialising, but neither thing happened. He required 1-2-1 care due to not being able to walk and the delirium that he got whilst in the hospital but unfortunately the agency
staff they use on the whole did not seem to care for him that well. The only time he was taken out of his room was when they changed the room he was in due to him feeling uncomfortable with an aggressive resident nearby, they rarely give any updates and I didn’t feel that the Care Home Manager gave us much more information when we went in specifically to see him. We took a jigsaw puzzle in and Dad was happily working on this and the carer for that day just tipped it all in the box again causing my Dad to lose interest. Our concerns over his health were ignored on numerous occasions. I can’t help but feel if they had listened and taken action sooner then Dad may still be here today.

Crowstone House is a wonderful place. The staff are amazing - so caring and patient and always smiling and having a joke with the residents. There is always something going on like games, quizzes, trips out, etc. My Mum is happy which is the main thing. She has made friends and looks forward to waking
up every morning to see them. She is always clean and tidy and she has her hair done by the hairdresser every week. I could go on and on - I would definitely recommend Crowstone House to anyone who is in need of top-quality care for their relative.

Mother has lived at Crowstone House for nearly two years now and my Sister and I have never had any reason to complain about anything. The staff are all permanent (which makes a difference) and very professional and caring, and we thank them with all our heart. There are always many activities going
on and there is a celebration for every occasion which takes a lot of organising and hard work for the staff and there is always nice music playing. Mum is always happy and relaxed and to know that she is in the right place is peace of mind for myself and my Sister.
Crowstone House is always spotlessly clean and fresh and the food always looks and smells delicious. Residents are always given a choice of what they would like to eat and drink at meal times.
Thank you Crowstone House from us all and keep up the wonderful work.

Mum has been at Crowstone since January and is very happy there. When asked she says she’s made new friends and the staff are all lovely and friendly. From my point of view, I know Mum is happy, relaxed, and cared for. The staff and residents are like one big happy family. Everyone is well cared for
and turned out, the food is good and the activities lady provides lots of fun and stimulation for everyone. I’d highly recommend it.

Crowstone House provides everything Mum needs. A good and varied menu, warmth, comfort, and entertainment. The caring staff often interacts with her and the activity organiser provides and plans excellent weekly activity programs to stimulate and occupy them. Mum has air cushions on her chair and bed
to keep her comfortable and prevent pressure sores. She is visited by a chiropractor, dementia nurse, GP, and hairdresser regularly. All medication, weight, health, and temperament are carefully monitored.

My relative was very happy during his stay in the home and his mental heath improved so much. I heard him laugh for the first time in ages. I only wish he'd had more time. Thanks to everyone for making his stay such a happy time.

My grandad has been in a few care homes and this is by far the best one. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, they are compassionate and caring. The home itself is well staffed, great location, always clean, great layout and lots of activities/things to do for the residents. Very well run all
in all.

My mother-in-law has been at Crowstone House since February 2023 due to her declining health and we have thought the staff and home super throughout.
In December the home was turned into a magical place for Christmas. On Christmas Day when we visited the staff had gone above and beyond to make the
day like a traditional family Christmas, with all staff including management there to make the day special. This treatment isn’t something reserved for special occasions, but each resident and their families are made to feel welcome and important every day and like in a home away from home.
Sadly, Mum passed away just after New Year and the support and dignity granted to us all was superb. Nothing was too much trouble - we were allowed all the time we needed at Mum’s side, offered drinks and snacks and more importantly it was abundantly clear that Mum was in the team’s hearts and her best interests at the forefront of every decision. We cannot thank the Crowstone Team enough.

The staff at Crowstone House were magnificent with Dad. They took him in at very short notice, tended to his every need and were kind and compassionate to the end. Dad loved his food and ate very well three times a day, with umpteen cups of tea, with biscuits! The attention and care he received were
second to none and I cannot thank the staff enough.
