Crowstone House, which was rated 'Outstanding' by the CQC in January 2018, is situated on the sea front at Westcliff-on-Sea, the view from the main lounge overlooks the Thames Estuary and whether a beautiful sunny day or wild and windy the view is always very exceptional. Westcliff, as it borders Southend, has been classified as a conservation area to preserve its beauty. Crowstone with a classical feature turret room used for activities, is an older building full of character and offers you a home from home. There are lifts but the staircase is magnificent summing up the splendour of Crowstone. All around there is a friendly and enchanting environment, especially the snoozelum room. Your room awaits you so that you may add your own personal creativity.

After caring for Mum for some time, we decided that more professional help was required although we both knew it would be very tough to part. Mum has been at Crowstone House for over 2 months now and I cannot speak highly enough of the care, kindness and compassion that absolutely every member of the
team affords Mum and me at what has been a very upsetting time. Mum has a lovely room and the whole house is always so clean and tidy. Visits are well managed even with all the extra complications Covid has forced upon them. I have no concerns about Mum's care as I feel totally confident that she is well cared for and living within a safe, warm, caring environment and treated with the dignity everyone deserves. Thank you all so very very much.

Very interesting and enjoyable. The staff are very kind, caring and helpful. The food was very nice but I have stayed in 5-star hotels. The location on the seafront is lovely especially during these difficult times.

My Mum was a resident for fourteen months. She passed away peacefully in Crowstone. The staff could not have done more or made Mum or the family feel more welcomed and supported. The happy memories of Mum's 94th birthday and the fuss made of her will remain with me. Thank you for the compassion, dignity
and care given to a 'very nice lady'. It has made Mum's passing easier.

On visits, mum was always clean and dressed in freshly laundered clothes.
Her room was always warm and clean. When I was on holiday I was confident she was very well cared for and in very capable hands.

Thank you so much to all the staff who have enabled us to spend quality time together at Crowstone House chatting, laughing and playing games with Grandma. This would normally have been difficult because of the other residents and we have such a large family. We loved the afternoon tea - it was very
tasty and unlimited tea was great. It felt like we were all at home together. We are so grateful and would love to do this again.

The afternoon tea on December 14th. It was lovely to enjoy afternoon tea with Grandma and family in a private and intimate area. The staff have been excellent and the organiser looked after us wonderfully. We hope to do this regularly.

The staff do an amazing job to care for all the residents at Crowstone House. Making effort for special occasions is always appreciated - the family Christmas party idea was great to do something different without taking my grandmother out of her familiar surroundings.

Private family Christmas party (14/12/19). Enjoyable afternoon for all the family, including young children (4 & 2 years). The activities co-ordinator made the afternoon memorable by supplying music, crackers, games for adults and children and decorating the dining room for our private party, the food
that was supplied was excellent.

We have today come as a family to celebrate Christmas with my Nan. It was such a lovely idea to be able to have some private time with my Nan in a large space away from everybody else. They organised a lovely lunch for us and went to extra effort to provide us with games and colouring packs to entertain
my daughters.
We would love to be able to do this again, it's such a thoughtful idea and means so much to our family to be able to spend precious time together.

It was my first visit to Crowstone and all of the staff greeted us with smiles. I noticed a good effort had been made to decorate and put some Christmas spirit into the air. We booked the dining room to celebrate Christmas with our relatives and it was a lovely private room to share the moment.

My dad was cared for at Crowstone House for a year. During that time the care he received was fantastic, the staff were kind respectful and recognised dads sense of humour. The setting of Crowstone House is second to none and the cleanliness of dads bedroom, the lounge dining room and all communal areas
were exemplary. A big thank you to everyone involved in my dads care. My brother and I are very grateful.

Mum came to Crowstone (Westcliff) in March 2017 after my Father's death. Mum was diagnosed with terminal bone cancer and had decided that she wanted to be looked after. The carers and office staff looked after Mum fantastically and she was very happy there. The nurse and senior carer and carer were
mum's favourites but she liked all the staff and I believe they had a soft spot for her too. My sisters and I are very grateful to all the staff for the care and attention they gave to Mum throughout her time with them.

Our mum only spent her last seven weeks in Crowstone House.
The care received during the period was most caring, thoughtful and understanding of her condition, acute dementia, unable to walk, have any kind of conversation. Also, she was incontinent.
We as her family cannot praise highly enough, all
the staff in looking after our mum during her final days.

I was given lots of support when my cousin went to Crowstone House. She was made to feel welcome and soon settled. The staff were amazing. Always caring and happy around the residents. My cousin was taken on trips out to the theatre and always enjoyed herself.
Her room was kept spotless and her clothes
always clean. I would recommend this care home.
My cousin was very happy there for four years.
