Crowstone House, which was rated 'Outstanding' by the CQC in January 2018, is situated on the sea front at Westcliff-on-Sea, the view from the main lounge overlooks the Thames Estuary and whether a beautiful sunny day or wild and windy the view is always very exceptional. Westcliff, as it borders Southend, has been classified as a conservation area to preserve its beauty. Crowstone with a classical feature turret room used for activities, is an older building full of character and offers you a home from home. There are lifts but the staircase is magnificent summing up the splendour of Crowstone. All around there is a friendly and enchanting environment, especially the snoozelum room. Your room awaits you so that you may add your own personal creativity.

Unfortunately, my mother was only at Crowstone House for a short while. But during that time, the family felt that she benefitted enormously from the care, attention and good humour of all those who came into contact with her.

By the time mum went into the home her dementia was well advanced. The staff at Crowstone could not have been kinder, not just to mum, but to us as a family. I have nothing but admiration for all at Crowstone. It is a warm friendly home. It doesn't feel like a care home because it's not a cold purpose-built
property. I know mum was well cared for and as happy as she could be. Thank you Crowstone, long may you continue.

My wish is that everyone who lives with dementia received the kind of care and treatment that mum is getting here. I visit the home daily and mum is always happy

Although my mother has only been a resident for two weeks, the care and consideration she was given by the staff in this amazing home was second to none. She was very unwell on admission but the time spent with her and care given could not be faulted. We as a family were given all the support possible

My husband has been cared for at Crowstone House for six months and those last six months of his life have been made happy and comfortable due to the care and love that was given to him by all who looked after him. The surroundings at Crowstone House are light, spacious and clean, but above all the
carers were at all times caring, gentle and courteous to my husband. I also found that I was made so welcome when I visited him that it made a stressful time so much easier to bear. Sadly my husband died in hospital but my thanks go to ALL the staff who cared so well for him during his stay at Crowstone House.

Crowstone House is a beautiful listed building on the seafront. My wife has a delightful first-floor room overlooking the estuary. This is a particular blessing because we have been married sixty-four years and we ran a business together for over forty years before retiring to our house further up the
estuary in Leigh which has similar views.
My wife enjoys looking out and the view seems to comfort her in her confused state of mind.
It is extremely heart wrenching to be separated after such a long happy marriage but the lovely caring staff have been very welcoming and I can even have lunch with my wife each day.
During these past four years, it has become increasingly more difficult looking after her so it is a great blessing to know she is now safe in lovely surroundings and being properly looked after and cared for by dedicated professionals.
My wife has the added stimulus of being encouraged to join in the many and varied activities by the very enthusiastic coordinator who sometimes includes me!

My mother stayed in her wheelchair in the mini bus and I had a nice seat. I was impressed with the company vehicle, they hired it to take us to Alton Nurseries. Mum loved it. The trips are very therapeutic for her. She was able to go down memory lane with some purchases and a cafe shop. She also had
some fresh air and shared in Christmas outside the care home. Our family rated the venue and organisation highly. I enjoyed escorting mum. Thank you.

I find the home clean, the staff caring and considerate. The only problem is that my 95-year-old father does not suffer from dementia whilst most residents there do. The bedroom which he has is very small without a toilet. We knew this and agreed to it as no other rooms were available at the time. Possible
more stimulation would be an advantage to the residents.

At the age of 95, Mum had to give in and go into a care home to be looked after. She was at Crowstone House for 11 months until she passed away. 11 months of good care and attention from everybody. She was happy, contented and felt safe. I would recommend Crowstone House to anybody.

Crowstone House, is a beautiful place. The building is very grand overlooking Southend seafront. As soon as you walk through the door you can feel the welcome. Everyone who works there from the cleaners to the management are extremely helpful, and always very cheerful and have the time to talk to you.

name anyone, as there are too many and I would not like to offend anyone by forgetting them.
All I can say is the manager, his clerical staff and everyone else do an amazing job, as dignity is something they all recognise and respect everyone.

What struck us with first visiting the premises was the fact that all of the management and staff smile and appear happy and enthusiastic. Everyone was kind and considerate and nothing was too much trouble. The room with a sea view was probably as good as you could find anywhere. The concept of trying
to get people to do as much for themselves as possible has resulted in my father being able to go back to live in his bungalow. Instead of just sitting around doing nothing he was encouraged to walk- with a frame- to the bathroom and dining room. The only negative point I would make which is not a criticism of Crowstone House but care homes, in general, is that there should be better segregation between those people with advanced dementia, from those who still have all their wits about them.

This is a superb home. My 95 year old Nan was fiercely independent, but she loves being at Crowstone. She loves the food, staff, company, outings, views from the veranda ... She has been totally wooed by this lovely 'hotel'!

My mother required respite after breaking her right shoulder in a fall. At the time she was a little confused but the staff at Crowstone soon had her engaging socially with the other residents and quickly restored her confidence, with persuasion and patient assistance she also began to walk confidently
with a stick and could also manage to negotiate stairs with help. Crowestone has been a thoroughly enjoyable and uplifting experience for my mother. Thank You.
