Dad joined The Lilacs Care Home for respite in July 2022 after a long stay in hospital. We were unsure how he would get on there as he never wanted to go in a care home but, with dementia, we couldn't leave Dad at home anymore with just carers coming in as and when without worrying about him 24/7 and
holding down a job and family. Best decision we made for Dad. He is always happy when I go to see him, washed and kept how he would have cared for himself if he could. Staff are very friendly and caring and are always happy to help you if there are things you want to change and implement for Dad's care. We know Dad is happy at Lilacs as we know that he would let us know if not in his own little way (being agitated and unsettled). Staff always let us know if Dad is unwell and keep us informed of any medication given for added illnesses. Best decision made for Dad as he is safe and happy and his needs are being met and we can visit him and know he is safe when we leave.

My Nan was admitted to The Lilacs around January time after breaking her hip, she stayed for around 6 months in total. During her stay, the home assisted with all her needs including ordering medication and doctors if needed. The staff were polite, friendly and catered to her needs, she had a good overall
experience here.

My mum has been a resident at The Lilacs for over 2 years and I have always found the staff to be attentive and caring towards her needs. She is always clean and nicely dressed and despite being busy it is nice that the staff find time to sit and chat with her on a one to one basis which she enjoys.
They have always kept us informed of mum’s requirements and problems and involved us in any decision making. The Lilacs are regularly visited by a hairdresser and a chiropodist and they also provide prompt medical intervention when required. Since the new manager took over there has also been an increase in resident activities eg the making of Easter Bonnets, listening to and making music and quizzes. The Lilacs may not be decorated like a boutique hotel but I do believe that all the staff are fully committed to providing a safe, caring and friendly environment to all those in their care.

My brother has been a resident at The Lilacs for 6-months and I am very happy with the care that he is receiving there. The staff are caring, endlessly patient and always ready to talk to me about his ongoing needs. There is a very real sense that each resident matters to them as an individual, and
they work hard to find out what they can do to enhance the resident's experience of being in care. My brother's medical needs are complex and the staff are well supported by visiting health care professionals. The fabric of the building is being upgraded and in the last few months, I have seen the installation of new windows, electrical work and decorations. There is clearly a rolling programme of improvement and renovation and that is a very positive sign. The Lilacs provide excellent care for my brother and peace of mind for me.

Both my parents have been/are being cared for here and I couldn’t ask for a friendlier more caring group of people. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff all show a genuine interest in my Mum and look after her well-being. I was very impressed with how things were dealt with during the pandemic,
keeping all the residents safe and the home always smells clean and fresh. The food is good and hearty. The residents are visited regularly by a hairdresser and a chiropodist and any medical needs are dealt with swiftly and with dignity. The ongoing process of parents going into care is never easy but the whole team at the Lilacs have made it so much easier and taken a huge worry off our shoulders. Massive thanks to the whole team.

A welcoming and warm residential home. My mom has been at The Lilacs for quite some time now. Staff are very caring, understanding and accommodating. I find the management well on top of daily running of the home. I am kept up to date with all matters concerning my mom.
The atmosphere is very relaxed
every time I visit mom every week.

I moved into the home in July 2014 - present. I was very depressive, just suffered a bad stroke at the beginning of the year and suffered abuse from another family member. Since then, I am so happy, never been so happy. I call staff my family because they treat me like I am there family. There is not
a bad word I could say about The Lilacs care home, I get all the care I need.

During my stay at The Lilacs, I have been very impressed with the help and kindness shown by the carers.
They deal quickly and efficiently with the residents' needs and also have to be aware of any unexpected difficulties that may arise.
Also, I have been impressed with the fact that nurses and doctors
visit regularly.
The distribution of drugs and medicines seems to be done very efficiently.
The rooms are cleaned frequently.
Finally, I would like to mention the food which is excellent. The variety is very good.

I am very happy with the standard of care.
Since being at The Lilacs her health has improved beyond belief.
