My beautiful Mum had a bad stroke before Christmas. The hospital wanted her out even though she hadn't even been put on a stroke ward. She hadn't eaten or drunk anything so was put on fluids. Yesterday my mum was returned to Leatherland Lodge South Ockendon. Within 24 hours the staff who adore their
residents have got her to eat and drink and even done some walking. It's a miracle. Their care and love for these older people goes way beyond any other care home I have come across. Amazing dedication from all of these wonderful people. Thank you so much for everything you do

My sister is very happy in the home, the staff are all friendly, the food excellent. They have trips out and parties an activities which she enjoys. It is a huge relief to know that we can have confidence that she is so well cared for.

My loved one moved into Leatherland Lodge in December 2022 I cannot praise this care home enough. The staff are so helpful, caring and supportive. They have done their utmost to help my loved one way beyond my expectations. However, his dementia sadly progressed quite rapidly and he has recently moved
to the hospital for more specialised help. He made some good friends at the home, especially among the staff. A huge thank you to the team for everything you've done for him and also for the support you've given to me. Everything you said to me when he first moved in you have absolutely kept to your word..you have been the best. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My great gran was here and every time I visited her I was greeted with a smile the carers were fantastic they always made her sing silly songs. I couldn’t say enough about Leatherland the staff are fantastic and the manager was and is great even now I might pop in just to say hello and drop off some

Mum was discharged to Leatherland Lodge from hospital after a fall.
She was settled in very quickly and we have been very impressed with the levels of care, compassion and the facilities overall.
The staff are really approachable and it seems nothing is too much trouble.
The manager says she wants
a happy home from home and this is what Leatherland Lodge is.

This place is wonderful, always very welcomed and the carer and manager always lovely to talk to and help out so much for my nan. I’m very happy with this care home, definitely recommend to others and my nan loves it there, always telling me on the phone how much she enjoys it and especially the activities

The home is very clean and comfortable, with staff being extremely hard working, pleasant, and considerate. Residents seem very well cared for, content, and happy within their surroundings.
The times that I have made a visit here have always been a good experience for myself.
The manager is always

Without a doubt this home puts care into care home! My mum was a resident here for just over 6 years, the manager is all about her residents! I have joked I will come here even if I don’t need the care when I’m older. Parties, events, any excuse to dance and dress up to keep the spirits and atmosphere
fun and happy. The staff are caring and compassionate, thank you so much for all you did for my mum. And if you are one of the bosses reading this review pay your staff well they bloody deserve it!

Since moving my mum from her previous care home to Leatherland Lodge due to unacceptable falls and malnutrition sores, Mum has made such good progress and I noticed a big change in her mood and appearance within a week of her settling in to Leatherland Lodge. The manager and staff were very helpful
and I can't fault them. The manager was very caring to Mum's sores and she was very approachable after our initial meeting all of my family left knowing Mum would be cared for how she should be. Thank you to all of you for showing compassion.

Leatherland Lodge is a lovely home and have been looking after my grandad for a year, and he is very happy being there. My granddad has made so many improvements since being at Leather Land Lodge. The team are amazing and very caring and do whatever they can to meet my granddad's needs. I don't know

Leatherland Lodge has brought life back to my nan. My nan has Alzheimer's so it can be difficult for her to remember what she does but the care home take regular pictures of her enjoying herself with a genuine look of joy which is very reassuring as a family. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful,
especially the head of medication.

Sadly my nan passed away today in loving care at Leatherland Lodge. She had 2 very happy years here with absolutely amazing staff and management. Nothing was ever too much trouble and my Nan was treated as family to them. We as a family could not have hoped for anything better for my Nan. The staff
and management go above and beyond to make sure that residents are happy and healthy (my nan always looked amazing). We cannot thank them enough and would recommend this home to anyone.

My father was in Leatherland Lodge for about ten weeks and, during this time, was looked after in an extremely caring, compassionate and dignified manner. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff, and they were always prompt in reacting to any request. During the last week of my father's life,
they not only looked after him but all of the family too. I am so glad that we chose Leatherland Lodge as the care home for my father. I don't honestly feel he would have gotten better care anywhere.
