The Whitecroft provides skilled elderly and dementia care for up to fifty-six individuals, all of whom benefit from personalised care plans and 24-hour access to dedicated nurses, whilst having their independent lifestyles respected.

Residents enjoy a choice of four communal lounges for relaxing or social entertainment, as well as attractice gardens and rural surroundings that make for a scenic place to spend a retirement.

Staff are particularly sensitive to the needs and possibly complex behavioural patterns of residents who suffer from dementia, using all the information available to ensure as stress-free a day-to-day living as possible.

My mum has Alzheimer’s and the Whitecroft care home team have really helped her settle in well. I was really anxious when she had to go in the home but there was no need. The staff are fantastic with my mum and provide exceptional care.

My mum has been in The Whitecroft for 2 years now. She took a little while to settle as it was Covid time and also hard for her to adjust from being away from home. The staff are wonderful and so caring and go above and beyond with all the residents there. They are always available to speak with if
you have any questions. The rooms are lovely and so is the food. She is happy and well looked after and there are so many activities going on for her to join in with as and when she decides to!


Photos are put on daily of residents enjoying these activities so it’s lovely to see them.

Where do I start? My mother-in-law has been a resident at The Whitecroft for a couple of years now and the difference since being taken over by the manager is overwhelming! He has/is turning The Whitecroft into a more welcoming home than it ever was. Today we as a family went and helped at the Halloween
Ball. It was full of residents and families all enjoying the experience. Never has it been so lively. The fresh decoration, cleanliness and family environment are long overdue. Thank you to the manager for putting a smile on the Oakley family’s faces.

The staff are always happy and friendly. Willing to help in any way. Residents are treated and cared for in a very loving way. Seating arrangements could be better in the lounge. There are sometimes not enough chairs and residents can be a little confused by this. Also, I feel those with dementia could
do with their own seats as they need and are much happier with familiarity.

Absolutely amazing care home! My nan moved in there last month and has settled so quickly! The staff really know their residents and tell you all about them and what they have done each day! My nan has already been on a trip to Southend and does the daily activities!


I am always greeted well and

the rooms are always spotless! Good options are amazing and I just feel so happy she has settled in so well!


Honestly could not recommend this care home enough!

I say what I see! Every time I visit it’s usually unannounced so what I see is how it is. What I find is smiling caring and helpful staff, but more importantly, my mother always seems very happy and well cared for. The staff treat the residents with respect, dignity and compassion. They care for all
her needs, and now she has advanced dementia there are many. The home is very accommodating, before I take Mum out I always call to advise them and they ensure that she is ready and waiting and in the appropriate clothing. Whenever I take her out my mum always seems very happy to go back to Whitecroft, there is never a problem or any hesitation from her and the staff greet her in such a warm, friendly and kindly manner. Which tells me she is happy and content living there.

The home is always clean and welcoming. Staff are extremely attentive to residents and very friendly to visitors especially our small children when we visit.
Lots of activities/social events are arranged for residents.


Staff cannot do enough for residents to make them happy and comfortable.

My mum came to The Whitecroft in October 2022 when it became clear that she could no longer cope with living on her own and from day one I was struck by the warmth and kindness of the staff there. Nothing seemed too much trouble.
Sadly, mum passed away in February 2023 but it brought me and my family
great comfort to know that the staff were kind and attentive to her right up to the end.

My mum has been in the Whitecroft for nearly 5 years now. Obviously, her dementia has worsened quite drastically over that time and sadly, she has now lost her sight as well. Her care needs are many and the staff are very understanding of those needs. The kitchen staff and cleaning staff are lovely

Deciding that it was time for Mum to have 24-hour care was not an easy decision to make. My aunt who had dementia was in the Whitecroft for 3 years until she passed away last week. She received wonderful care from the whole team there. When she was well enough she enjoyed the sing songs they had and the activities and entertainment. We were always made welcome when we visited her at the
home. When she was on end of life care, they made sure she was always comfortable and well cared for, checking on her regularly. I cannot thank them enough for the love and care they gave her during her time there.

Considering the difficulties caused by covid, my praise is even higher than it would have been. The efficient, caring manager and hardworking staff have been so considerate in their dealings with my mum and our family. Staff shortages are causing minor issues but on the whole, the standard of care here
is high. My mum is enjoying the entertainment and activities provided by a wonderful lady, is loved by all the residents and most of all she is treated with respect.

The atmosphere at The Whitecroft is friendly and caring, exemplified by their staff. They are always working flat out to help the residents, our loved ones, experience a homely environment accommodated by professional expertise and care. It's particularly comforting to know that during these difficult
times, every opportunity has been made to accommodate the residents, as well as help to enable families to stay in touch with their loved ones.


Praise must be directed to the manager, who is also accompanied by some very special staff, who all work very hard. It really is a team effort across the board, and this enables the residents to have a wonderful quality of life. I have nothing but praise for everyone at The Whitecroft.

Dad was in the care home for five and a half months, six weeks of that was spent in hospital. For the short time he was in the care home he had excellent care.
The manager and staff gave first-class care, nothing was too much trouble. Dad was happy in there as the food was good (he loved his food)
and the carers were really helpful.
Sadly he passed away on the 4th December 2020.

My name is Tayo and I am the Home Manager here at The Whitecroft, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you and thank you for considering our Home. All our rooms are spacious and bright. Families are welcome to bring in personal belongings to add to the rooms to give a more homely and familiar atmosphere for the residents during their stay here. Here at The Whitecroft, we strive to provide a secure and pleasant setting for each individual resident, catering to their personal needs which allows for the enhancement of their physical and emotional wellbeing during their stay. We have a wonderful Wellbeing Team who encourage our residents to partake in any activities like Bingo, quizzes, arts and crafts. We also have themed days, days out and entertainers on a regular basis in the home, which families are always welcome to join. Our Chef prepares home-cooked meals, that are both delicious and healthy for all our residents. We offer a high standard of living by appreciating and respecting the specific individual wants and needs of our residents and families. We would be delighted to welcome you to The Whitecroft for a tour soon.
