The Whitecroft provides skilled elderly and dementia care for up to fifty-six individuals, all of whom benefit from personalised care plans and 24-hour access to dedicated nurses, whilst having their independent lifestyles respected.

Residents enjoy a choice of four communal lounges for relaxing or social entertainment, as well as attractice gardens and rural surroundings that make for a scenic place to spend a retirement.

Staff are particularly sensitive to the needs and possibly complex behavioural patterns of residents who suffer from dementia, using all the information available to ensure as stress-free a day-to-day living as possible.

We obtained care for our mother about a year ago, after she declined in health at home.
It was lovely to see her health improve immensely within two weeks when she began living at The Whitecroft! We visited most days and were always pleased to see Mum in good spirits. On days when she was not so good,
she received attention from the Carers and NHS services who were professional and very attentive to what was required.
We were kept informed of her condition throughout her stay and were happy to let staff look after her. I have been told that the staff enjoyed looking after her too, and had good laughs with her sense of humour.
The food looked good when we saw it, but learned that it was better to let everyone get on with mealtimes and not visit then.
The last few months with Covid-19 have made visiting impossible, so that's been testing, unfortunately.
The Whitecroft is run very well, so my gratitude to a good management and leadership team.

My mum went into The Whitecroft after breaking her hip and was unable to regain her mobility. I can only say that during the time that mum lived there she was very well looked after, the staff were always warm, caring and took the time to make all of the residents feel valued. They went out of their
way to make mum feel ‘at home’ and part of a big family!
My family and I visited mum very frequently (most days), and saw just how well all of the residents were cared for, and we were always made to feel welcome whenever we were there. There were lots of activities taking place and all were able to take part if they wanted. There were also trips out for the residents to look forward to. Mum particularly enjoyed getting her hair done each week, and also having her nails painted - I feel that it is these little things also that help the residents take pride in themselves and they also provide a routine that is so important to the elderly.
I can’t recommend The Whitecroft enough.

With Mum's dementia becoming increasingly problematic for her at home and so to provide her the care and company she needed Mum went to live at The Whitecroft in January 2020. Initially the change of environment was difficult for her to take in but after 4 months and the lots of patient-professional
care she is receiving combined with the companionship of other residents she is settling well. She is joining in with activities and we are extremely happy and confident that The Whitecroft is the right place for Mum to be. All the staff are dedicated, friendly and clearly caring towards the residents. We would not hesitate to recommend The Whitecroft as a homely caring and safe place for the elderly to live.

My dad was admitted to The Whitecroft direct for a period of respite care.
I found the management and staff to be caring, approachable and efficient. Also, the home had a lovely, welcoming atmosphere.
My dad loved being admitted and expressed an interest in becoming a full-time resident.
Unfortunately,
his health deteriorated, and he passed away.
Many thanks for the excellent care you provided.

My mother spent the last 2 years of her life in The Whitecroft and died on December 20th after a very difficult month following three challenging months.
The staff could not have been more helpful and compassionate to her and to me, when they accompanied mum to A&E and when it was decided she should
stay in her own room they proved knowledgeable as well as supportive. I cannot thank them enough.

Mum enjoyed her respite stay and could not have been looked after any better than she was, some very nice personal touches which were not expected. We as a family felt assured that she was being well cared for and in a safe environment. The staff were very professional, very friendly and it was always
a pleasure to enter The Whitecroft and be met by smiley faces - a real homely atmosphere.

My aunt moved into The Whitecroft on the 14th October 2014 following a period in hospital. She settled in quickly and always enjoyed the staff talking to her. The staff would have noticed over the years that she had a tendency to clench her hands together when she would be listening or talking to anybody.
We all have our own habits and I believe the staff were extremely attentive to the needs of the residents in their care. As a relative, I felt included in what was going on at the home and always notified promptly of any health issues. I was grateful for my aunt's 100th Birthday Party and entertainment provided to make a special day for her.

The biggest compliment I can pay The Whitecroft is that it felt like home.
My mum was loved and cared for by the most remarkable team. Each and every member of staff became our family.

My mother has been at The Whitecroft now for approximately 18 months. The staff helped her settle in from day one although at the time she was being quite difficult as her dementia had deteriorated all of a sudden. The day to day care she receives from the current staff is very good. They go out of
their way to chat with her even though her deafness must frustrate them. There are regular activities for the residents. Visitors are always welcome. The building and grounds of the home are pleasant well maintained.

My aunt was a resident 18 months. The staff were brilliant as she became weak. The care and kindness was so very good. She became very weak and in the week before she died, they not only looked after her but me as well - offering coffee and biscuits. So very welcoming. I would praise these people -
they are truly professional.

My mum and dad came to The Whitecroft in January 2015. The manager made sure they were kept together even though at the time dad probably didn't need to be in a care home he just didn't want to leave mum (she had dementia).
They were both cared for very well and although I visited everyday I could
leave them knowing they were safe. The Whitecroft made us feel part of the family and I still visit a few times a week to feed their canary and the fishes.

My mum has been cared for very well during her time at The Whitecroft, all the staff have been very kind and considerate towards her and she has maintained her dignity throughout. She was happy there and was very fond of the staff. They had her up dancing sometimes when she was still able to walk
and took her for walks to pick flowers in her wheelchair when she was feeling unsettled. They laughed and joked with her and talked to her even though she could not speak to them. At the end of her life, someone stayed with her so she was not alone for her last few hours.


I am very happy with the way she was looked after and treated and I found all the staff extremely happy and friendly. I am so pleased that she was part of this lovely family during her last year and a half of life, they made her time there very happy.

Whitecroft is a thoroughly caring environment.
The staff, at all levels, are always caring, approachable and wanting the residents to be as happy and comfortable as possible.
The care staff are led by a very professional 'head of carers' and the manager is always approachable, professional, up-to-date
with my mother and wanting to help in every way.
I believe the manager is responsible for the very special 'team spirit' at Whitecroft.

Mum came to the home in February 2015; she settled in remarkably well. That was due to the care, kindness and support of all the staff at The Whitecroft. They put her at ease and were on hand to make her feel part of a family. Mum made many friends and joined in with all activities until she became
too ill. The staff wanted to care for mum for end of life but she died before that could happen.

The Whitecroft provided mum not only with excellent care but a feeling, for her, as she had a new home. She loved the staff; their compassion and care was first class. They also gave my father when he was alive, support and care. He visited her every day and was always warmly greeted and treated with
care and dignity. I would have no hesitation in recommending your care home to anyone who needs care and can no longer live in their own home.

My name is Tayo and I am the Home Manager here at The Whitecroft, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you and thank you for considering our Home. All our rooms are spacious and bright. Families are welcome to bring in personal belongings to add to the rooms to give a more homely and familiar atmosphere for the residents during their stay here. Here at The Whitecroft, we strive to provide a secure and pleasant setting for each individual resident, catering to their personal needs which allows for the enhancement of their physical and emotional wellbeing during their stay. We have a wonderful Wellbeing Team who encourage our residents to partake in any activities like Bingo, quizzes, arts and crafts. We also have themed days, days out and entertainers on a regular basis in the home, which families are always welcome to join. Our Chef prepares home-cooked meals, that are both delicious and healthy for all our residents. We offer a high standard of living by appreciating and respecting the specific individual wants and needs of our residents and families. We would be delighted to welcome you to The Whitecroft for a tour soon.
