Belmont Castle Care Home is set in three acres of beautiful gardens, with panoramic views across the Solent and the Downs, it is very well established as it opened as a residential care home in April 1986.

Offering 40 spacious en-suite rooms, a wide range of facilities and 24-hour expert care. Set in an ideal location with landscaped gardens incorporating a bird aviary, which has been designed to give birds room to fly and interact. The aviary is always changing and draws much interest from the residents of the home.

My father has only been a resident for four weeks, but from the first show around to my father's admission, he and all the family have been made welcome. It was his birthday within the second week and the party food that was prepared surprised us all. The staff are approachable and always find time
to listen to any concerns. Very pleased with the facilities and the activities coordinator, a credit to the company.

My grandad has only been at Belmont for a short while but he has settled in extremely well. All the staff are friendly. The activity coordinator is fab and encourages Grandad to join in with activities, which he enjoys.

My father has been a resident in Belmont Castle for approximately 18 months, the care is above and beyond the staff are always so helpful. My dad has a lovely rapport with the staff, and his belongings are looked after, Covid had a huge impact on everyone and since restrictions have lifted its so lovely
to interact with everyone again, the activities are having a big impact on the residents, can't thank everyone at Belmont for everything they do.

Belmont Castle has recently undergone lots of positive changes, thankfully for the better.
Now, having great leadership with a new manager, the overall experience (as a family member) watching how my relative is being looked after, is now, I feel, in safer hands.
I feel he is now being looked after
well. At times over the last few years, this hasn't been the case, at times. Covid rules and poor management has caused me great anxiety about my relative's care, but now I feel much more at ease, that my relative is as comfortable as can be expected.

Management/assistant manager excellent. Area management visiting - poor. Had a bad experience talking in her office. No understanding of my husband's needs. No privacy - staff in and out. Condescending to speak to me on my own when I was distressed. Not happy at all with the outcome.

Having arranged a time to visit my friends, on arrival, I was told she was out (I was pleased as it was her birthday), so I waited about half an hour to see her. However, the staff were very kind in inviting me to join my friends for afternoon tea. Staff are generally very pleasant, but I would say
there are one or two issues in communication.

Absolutely amazing home! Staff are genuine and professional and uphold the most respect and quality when delivering care. The care they give to residents is absolutely amazing. They make everyone feel as though they are part of a family! They give residents a safe home to be able to feel like themselves
and give their all to help give them the right care that they need. I would highly recommend this home, it’s absolutely brilliant what they do.

Have reviewed our experience outdoors as we have only been allowed to look at the bedroom due to covid-19. From our initial contact with the manage and deputy to all the staff we have met on our visits; care and dignity to our Mum have been excellent. She cannot speak highly enough of her care, attention
and dignified way she is treated - also she says the food is wonderful.

The care my loved one receives is second to none. I cannot fault any one thing, always a warm welcome from the staff. Very well organised, always something going on, singalongs, artists, animals brought in, outside parties and trips out.
The food is varied and well presented and a great choice. Snacks
and drinks are available at all times. The staff always have time for the residents and their families. The place is spotless, safe and secure and managed very well.

My father has been at Belmont for the past six months and he has settled in extremely well and he loves the surroundings. He thinks the food is fantastic and joins in in all the activities which are very well organised. The team have been brilliant in decorating his room in a theme he chose, which he

Having one of your loved ones move into a care home is one of the hardest decisions to make. being filled with anxiety on whether this is the right choice for your loved ones and in my case, my mother. What the Staff at Belmont exceeded at was putting my mind at rest and not only making my mum feel,
safe, cared for and welcome in her new home. The Staff at Belmont go above and beyond their duties regarding the care of mum, they also make me and my family feel welcome when we visit always smiling and always up for a laugh which in my opinion is vital for the mental health of not only mum but for the family as a whole. All you want for your family is for them to feel safe, comfortable and happy and Belmont gives this always. Thank you.

I entered Belmont Castle Care Home at a very low point in my life, having just lost my wife of 58 years, expecting to be plunged into a world of do's and don'ts but instead of that, I was plunged into a world of care, understanding and goodness by all members of the staff. The care home is a relaxed
place to live, the food is well cooked, well prepared and well-balanced and there are activities to suit everybody's abilities. A big feature is the way families are encouraged to join in on the events held at Belmont Castle. The word of the day every day is fun! fun! fun!

My dad came to live at Belmont Castle after having a horrid time at his first care home, we lost my mum in 2017 and dad needed care after a year.
Belmont Castle treats my dad with the respect an 82-year-old man deserves. He has said it is the first time since my mum passed he has felt happy which makes
all his family happy. I'm very very pleased knowing he is safe and well cared for and nothing is too much trouble for them. Thank you Belmont Castle.

Mum, suffering with Alzheimer’s, was happily settled at another care home; it was extremely stressful to be told it was closing and Mum needed to be re-homed. My sister was away and we were also due to go abroad. The care home was selected by Mum’s allocated social worker. I looked at their website
and was convinced that this was somewhere I’d want Mum to be. My sister visited Belmont Castle on her return and Mum was accepted. A huge relief then as it continues to be. Mum settled extremely well. The staff are lovely with her and in a short time have fully got her measure. Mum can be quite forceful but this seemingly poses no problems. She is well cared for, always presentable and seems as happy there as she was in her previous home. In general, the staff are good to deal with and supportive when, on a visit, Mum is having a disinterested day. They are wonderfully patient with her and genuinely seem to like her, which I’m sure Mum senses. Having a meal with Mum is an added bonus.

The quality of care that was given to my grandfather after declining rapidly was second to none.
Their understanding, patience, empathy and compassion was truly welcomed in such a trying time.

My Mother is extremely happy at Belmont Castle, we cannot thank the staff enough for the care which is being provided.
Mum is always clean and tidy, her room is beautiful, just like being at home.
When my mum was discharged from hospital without a care package I was at my wit's end not being able
to work full time and give the care to mum that she needed. After phoning 12 care homes I phoned Belmont Castle, which I knew had good reports, but also knew were extremely popular and thought would have a waiting list. But mum was lucky enough to take up residence within the week and has not looked back. I know mum is getting the care she needs. The staff are always very welcoming. My 3 and half year old Granddaughter loves visiting Nanny at the Castle. At Belmont Castle, there is always something to do, a very happy sociable care home to be in. Cannot give enough praise.

My mother who has dementia moved into Belmont Castle Care Home and has settled in extremely well and she is very happy. The atmosphere is one of a happy family and everyone is made to feel at home. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and also very knowledgable within their areas of responsibility.
Nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent (cakes are amazing) and my mother is eating well. The home is super clean and cheerful and bright.
I am very glad we have made this choice for her.

My name is Michelle Fellowes, and I am the registered manager at Belmont Castle Care Home. I have worked in health and social care for 34 years, becoming a manager in 2008.


I am passionate about ensuring that each resident is at the centre of everything we do. As a team, we will continue to provide excellent person-centred care that enhances the lives of our community.


On a personal note, I got married in Sorrento, Italy, in 2008, and every year since, the magic of Italy has captured my heart for holidays. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and I love getting to know new people.
