Belmont Castle Care Home is set in three acres of beautiful gardens, with panoramic views across the Solent and the Downs, it is very well established as it opened as a residential care home in April 1986.

Offering 40 spacious en-suite rooms, a wide range of facilities and 24-hour expert care. Set in an ideal location with landscaped gardens incorporating a bird aviary, which has been designed to give birds room to fly and interact. The aviary is always changing and draws much interest from the residents of the home.

When my grandad required respite care at short notice we were concerned where he could go where we knew he would be looked after respectfully and feel happy despite his deteriorating Alzheimer's. Belmont Castle to the rescue! He was accepted at short notice and put in a lovely room for his 'holiday'.
The staff are courteous, kind and patient and made my grandad feel like part of the family. He started to eat and drink properly (which he was refusing at home) and would take his medication so it became apparent immediately that Belmont Castle was going to have to become permanent home. My nan was treated like family too and was able to visit at any time of day. The staff would set up dinner for them together so they could eat as a couple which made her so happy. When grandad became ill it was noticed quickly and emergency care was sorted immediately. We are so grateful for the love and care he received during his time at Belmont Castle. I can't recommend the home and its staff enough!

Excellent care home with the best team of people who work there. All of them make you and the residents feel at home, always doing activities for all to get involved in, including the families of residents. I wouldn't want any other care home other than Belmont to care for any of my family.

I have been a volunteer with this excellent care home for approximately the last seven years since my mother-in-law passed away there. During the three years that she resided at Belmont Castle, she was always treated with the utmost kindness and dignity. This was a great help to my wife and me and gave
us great peace of mind to know that she was in excellent hands.
Since her death, my wife and I have remained in constant touch with the staff and consider them to be our friends.
We try to help out with functions and attend all the meetings.
We cannot speak highly enough of this excellent home.

I visit my great aunt, and it is a real joy to see how happy and content she is every time I visit.
The care and kindness shown to, not just her but to everybody living there means I have peace of mind knowing I made the right decision.
The food is excellent, activities tailored just for them, the
decor is original and so much thought is put into how they can deliver an outstanding service for patients suffering from dementia. My aunts day is filled with love and laughter and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you Belmont team for making it 'home from home'.

This is the best place ever, it's home from home. Our mum went in for respite and was happy to stay there, loads to do for the patients, home cook food all fresh every day. You can also stay and have lunch with them, you are made to feel so welcome. The staff are one hundred per cent happy. I don't
dread leaving my mum as I know she is safe and happy.

My mum has only been in this care home for a short while but I cannot thank the staff enough for how they have welcomed her and made this her home. It really is a lovely care home and my mum is very settled and happy. I feel happy to walk away, (something I thought I would never be able to do) but I
know she is being really looked after. All of the staff and management really care about the residents. They have also made my family and myself feel just as welcome. We have been made fully aware of everything to do with my mum's health and welfare and we feel totally involved.


The home is extremely clean bright and cheerful and the food is wonderful.


Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for taking such good care of my mum she is very precious to me.

We were dreading the time when our mum had to go into care but staff have allayed our fears with their care and compassion shown to all residents.
We are over the moon with all aspects of mums care. We can visit at any time which tells me a lot. The food is second to none with many choices for residents
to choose. Mum is the happiest I've seen her in a long time which is such a relief. We can't thank everyone enough for the care and happiness you all give.

I cannot praise Belmont Castle highly enough, for the care and loving environment that they create for my mother in law and the other residents, from the care to the food and safe environment, all is second to none, the lengths they go to take away the stigma associated with Dementia is outstanding,
even taking the time to visit local schools to explain Dementia to the next generation so to help eliminate the stigma surrounding Dementia.
They have also given us our lives back, as we know that Mum is safe and cared for, and will no longer have to worry for her wellbeing.

Mum had her birthday recently, her first since being at Belmont Castle. We arranged to have lunch with her and when we arrived, there were banners around the dining room and day lounge wishing her a happy birthday, they even had a picture of a golden dog on them just like ours at home. We had a very
nice lunch all freshly cooked. After lunch, the staff arrived with a cake and candles for mum, which she blew out as they sang happy birthday to her. We would just like to thank all the staff for giving mum a nice day.

There is a friendly atmosphere.
Care staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble whether it was day or night - truly twenty-four-hour care.
The room was extremely comfortable.
Visitors were made welcome at any time and escorted to the rooms where they were always offered a drink on arrival.

My Father has been resident since the summer of 2017 since the passing of his wife (my Mum). Belmont Castle has now become his home and he is very happy there. Visiting my Dad at various times/days during the week, I am always made to feel so welcome by staff members and appreciate the fantastic work
the team do at the home. There are numerous social events and the manager is always at hand to discuss any matters of personal concern. The grounds are very well kept and summer garden parties are a joy to attend. It is very difficult to create a friendly homely environment for the elderly, especially with dementia/Alzheimer's residents which my Father suffers but I feel this care home does just that. There are various day rooms for residents to explore with activities to keep them both physically and mentally active. I have no hesitation in recommending this care home to others.

We always have a lovely time when visiting my granny at Belmont Castle Care Home. The staff make so much effort to make us feel welcome and nothing is ever too much.
The Christmas party this year was outstanding. The staff al dressed up and interacted with the residents and guests. The food was wonderful
and the raffle is always a good laugh.
Granny has settled in well to the home and I love seeing what she is up to on Facebook between my visits to her.

2nd December 2018 - today was Residents and Relatives Christmas meal. What a fabulous 3-course meal. The staff all worked their socks off, dressed as elves, presents, fairies, Santas and ensured every resident and family happy. The Christmas draw was brilliant, cannot praise the staff enough coming
in on their days off. Very long days - kitchen staff brilliant. Second-year running even better each year. Thank you. Mum had a great time.

Since Mum has been in this care home she has been looked after with care, compassion and dignity. The staff are all very attentive and caring. My Mum's key worker is always informative on how Mum has been when we visit. They always contact us when anything needs addressing. The overall standard is excellent
and would recommend the care home 100%.

When visiting or phoning this residential home I am always greeted and treated with care and respect. The staff are amazing, kind, caring people who treat residents with kindness and cannot do enough for them. Plenty of activities, lots of variety. The home is kept clean and safe for everyone. Belmont is amazing. I haven’t seen any other care provider like it. My wife's nan has been here since April 2018 and the change in her wellbeing has been so lovely. The staff are caring and you can tell they enjoy what they do. They make an effort to know you all by name and make you feel welcome. When
myself and my partner got married, nan was too poorly to attend, however, two members of staff came to our wedding on behalf of nan. They FaceTimed the ceremony to another staff member who was sat with nan so she could see the wedding. They even put on her sparkly slippers and the earrings. All the staff are always thinking of the little details to make such a big difference in our lives and the lives of people they care for. All of the residents are always treated with such dignity and respect. The building itself is lovely and there is always lots of activities on offer, including trips out, entertainers, animals visiting and in house activities. Belmont is fantastic and I would recommend it to everybody!

My name is Michelle Fellowes, and I am the registered manager at Belmont Castle Care Home. I have worked in health and social care for 34 years, becoming a manager in 2008.


I am passionate about ensuring that each resident is at the centre of everything we do. As a team, we will continue to provide excellent person-centred care that enhances the lives of our community.


On a personal note, I got married in Sorrento, Italy, in 2008, and every year since, the magic of Italy has captured my heart for holidays. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and I love getting to know new people.
