Belmont Castle Care Home is set in three acres of beautiful gardens, with panoramic views across the Solent and the Downs, it is very well established as it opened as a residential care home in April 1986.

Offering 40 spacious en-suite rooms, a wide range of facilities and 24-hour expert care. Set in an ideal location with landscaped gardens incorporating a bird aviary, which has been designed to give birds room to fly and interact. The aviary is always changing and draws much interest from the residents of the home.

We have really enjoyed our Christmas dinner today with lots of laughs. We enjoyed decorating the fireplace. Everyone was really happy and cheerful. A lovely Christmas meal that my mum really enjoyed.

Friendly and welcoming staff, always patient with my dad. Made him feel very at home. Food of a high standard and plenty of it! It is well organised with lots of activities and outings. Fabulous atmosphere with lots of fun and laughter. They keep the family well informed with lots of photos on social

Dad is cared for and treated as a whole person. He laughs, smiles and is clearly content.


The staff always recognise me and my husband and make us feel so welcome. My dad gets prompt medical attention when needed and is encouraged to do as much as he can/wants. The staff know his preferences and

try and accommodate his foibles!! A great team

In spite of his confusion due to dementia, Dad seems to be fairly settled. He is treated well by all the staff and enjoys his meals. The staff are very patient with him and always treat him with respect, as they do all the residents and visitors alike. If I had to choose a home for myself, this is the
one I'd pick.

The staff are all so wonderful which has to be the most important factor of successfully looking after/caring for the residents in a residential environment such as this one.
The building itself and rooms are very appealing and interior decoration is inspirational for the residents and visitors. It
is all kept immaculate and clean all the time.
The activities are very well run which really helps the residents enjoy their daytime and encourages them to mix with each other and stimulates them mentally and physically.

Belmont Castle is a wonderful place for my mum to live. I've not had to worry about her safety or wellbeing since she moved in November 2015.
The staff are friendly and welcoming and seem to care about every resident. Communications with family are good.
The rooms are clean and well organised and
lots of activities are planned for the residents and for extended family such as the brilliant Christmas decorating day and meal and Easter Egg hunt.
I would recommend Belmont Castle to anyone having to make the decision about finding care for loved ones.

My mother has been at Belmont Castle Care Home for almost a year now, and it really is the most amazing care home imaginable. The home itself is clean and comfortable and provides a real home from home environment with exceptionally caring staff - we consider ourselves very fortunate that there was
a vacancy for mum when she needed it. A Halloween Party was recently held, and photos and videos were posted on Facebook for all to see, and everyone was having a fantastic "scary" time! (It is really important to me to be able to see how mum is doing at Belmont because I live in Australia and only get to visit once a year.) This party was not the exception, with events like the summer garden party and regular outings as well, the most recent being a trip to Portsmouth Dockyard and a Mad Hatters Tea Party. Thanks to all the staff and management at Belmont, you are doing a remarkable job! Friends in Australia wish there was a similar facility here for their parents!

Mum has been a resident at Belmont Castle Care Home for 3 months, she wanted to remain independent in her own home as long as possible and the decision to move her into care was a difficult one. Having viewed several homes we felt that Belmont was by far the best. It is clean and homely, the decoration
is carefully thought out and provides a fantastic environment for residents and relatives. However, it is Belmonts staff who are its strong point. Caring and cheerful they are always welcoming and give Belmont a real feeling of warmth and homeliness. They get to know their residents and treat them with genuine affection and respect. They are sensitive to their needs, spending time with them and giving them individual attention. Communication is good and we have been kept up to date with mum's care. Mum is now settled, happy, safe and well cared for which is exactly what we wanted for her. We would thoroughly recommend Belmont Castel Care Home to anyone.

I have no hesitation in recommending Belmont Castle. It is reassuring to know that Mum is happy, safe and well looked after, receiving the best possible attention at all times by very caring staff. Friends and family are warmly welcomed and encouraged to attend meetings and events. A lot of thought

Very good care, an excellent quiet room, newly decorated. Breakfast in room, lunch and main meal good. Evening meal at 5pm - early!
(But realise many residents need care at bed)
A lovely garden, with birds (caged) and a fish pool.
Staff are very patient can seem always to be smiling and cheerful.

My mother took up residence at Belmont Castle two months ago and both myself and my family have been greatly impressed by the quality of care she has received.
Her condition and general wellbeing have improved far beyond my expectations and this is undoubtedly due to the standard of care she receives
from the friendly and efficient staff and their efforts to provide a comfortable safe and stimulating environment.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to anyone worried about the future care of an elderly relative suffering from dementia and I would like to thank the manager and her staff for their enthusiasm and attention to my mother and the peace of mind afforded to my family.

My relation is now a resident at Belmont Castle Rest Home and has been there only a few weeks.
The staff are wonderful, they can't help our Dad enough or any of us his family. They treat all of us with great respect. They are so helpful, Dad has had his 90th Birthday today and they couldn't help us
enough to put on a surprise party for him. Good time had by all.
I would have no problem in recommending the rest home to anybody that was to ask.
Dad has a lovely en-suite room, decorated lovely and kept clean always. The home is well run and the staff are excellent, food is great and well cooked and plenty to eat.

I am writing to you as my mother was a resident at Belmont Castle she moved in on 30th January 2016 and she was there until 12th April 2017 when she sadly passed away.
I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we were that she became part of the Belmont Castle family as that is how all the
staff made every one of our family feel. And the care that my mother received was above and beyond which we are truly thankful for.
My mum was even back singing and dancing, thank you, and took part in the summer fayre singing Abba which all of the family came to watch and is a special memory for us to treasure.
In my mum's last days, the staff were amazing and we could not have asked for any more from any of them, they truly are a special team and we feel honoured to have become part of the Belmont Castle Family.
We class the staff at Belmont Castle our 'Angels'.

My Auntie, lived happily in room 21 at Belmont from Sept 2013-March 2017.

The staff were always fantastic and could not do enough for her; the food was always good, tasty with a variety of dishes and again always available.

The entertainment from the team was always fun and engaging.

When
we visited the staff were always warm and welcoming and would soon have a cup of tea in your hand.

The admin lady was always so warm and efficient and again always had time to deal with any requests.

And finally the senior manager; well we knew she was special from our first meeting, and she always delivered and ran the home with care, pride, professionalism and warmth.

Sadly Auntie's care needs changed in March and she moved.

Auntie truly did enjoy a new chapter in her life at Belmont Castle Care Home.

This care home is run in a very professional and friendly manner. The staff go out of their way to make the residents and their family feel comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is very good and visitors can have lunch with their loved ones for a small voluntary fee. The decorations
and everything about the place is designed to make life interesting for the residents.
The entertainment is absolutely brilliant and there is always a party of some sort to celebrate Easter, Christmas or just about anything that is an excuse for a party.
I am very happy that my Mum is in such a lovely place.

Belmont Castle Care Home is a wonderful, happy, stimulating environment for both residents, their families and staff! Everyone receives a very warm welcome at Belmont Castle and instantly one is aware of the happy, caring and very professional environment the dedicated staff provide. All staff are exceptionally
well trained and constantly updated on all aspects of caregiving procedures by the superb experienced Manager. The Activities team provide a continuous programme of fun and stimulation for residents and numerous days throughout the year for relatives to share in various themed activities and meals. This care home is very clean with fun / stimulating decor, and excellent facilities for residents inside and outside in their charming garden with an aviary and well stocked fish pond! Meals are very nutritious and residents have access to 'help themselves snacks and drinks ' throughout the day. Our family is delighted that we have found such a wonderful Care Home.

Since my Dad entered Belmont Castle he has relaxed and has regained his sense of humour. It is so fantastic to get back to a father/daughter relationship. The staff are so supportive and Dad looks to them for support when he needs it. He sings and dances and the food is great. I often pop in and we
share coffee and cake - these may sound like small things but for anyone who has been where I have been you will know how important these times are. All the worry has gone, my Dad gets prompt medical attention when he needs it and it has been the best thing I ever did. All of the anxiety and worry that I had about moving Dad has gone and we now look forward to seeing each other. He is safe, warm, well-fed and I would even say loved - not just by me but by the staff as well. If you need somewhere that will energise your loved one and help them to enjoy their time even with their dementia you should visit Belmont Castle. I absolutely know that I have done the very best thing for my Dad.

My name is Michelle Fellowes, and I am the registered manager at Belmont Castle Care Home. I have worked in health and social care for 34 years, becoming a manager in 2008.


I am passionate about ensuring that each resident is at the centre of everything we do. As a team, we will continue to provide excellent person-centred care that enhances the lives of our community.


On a personal note, I got married in Sorrento, Italy, in 2008, and every year since, the magic of Italy has captured my heart for holidays. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and I love getting to know new people.
