Broadmead Resthome is a Newbury-based care home, ideal for individuals with a variety of care needs from general and personal care, to specialist mental health or dementia care. It provides a comfortable lifestyle with access to a team of professional, caring and skilled carers with specialist training, who are available for residents at all hours of the day and night.

The team is well trained and qualified in delivering person-centred care. They have built up a strong community reputation for delivering a friendly and professional service that welcomes loved ones and remains up-to-date with key sector developments.

Broadmead Resthome won the the “Employer of Year” award at NWN Best in Business Awards in April 2024. They were also shortlisted as finalists for the 2025 awards in three categories (Best Business Innovation, Employer of the Year, Team of the Year).

The excellent team is the reason that the home can provide homely yet high quality care. Maintaining a strong team culture and a healthy and happy environment for staff to work in filters down to the care of the residents and allows the team to build long-lasting bonds with residents. My mother is very happy and her needs are taken care of to a high standard. She is always dressed nicely including the accessories she likes. The staff are friendly and caring.
There are many varied activities that mum enjoys and participates in.
The staff respond to mum's needs appropriately and
relatives and visitors are made welcome at any time.
I would like the staff to wear badges as visitors and residents would find it useful to learn carers names.

Great team at Broadmead who know the residents very well. Good standard of rooms and the home is clean and well maintained - Bottom line is that it's all about the staff and the manager have created a team of dedicated professionals who take a genuine interest in the care of the residents. My mum loved
it there and I would recommend wholeheartedly.

During my Mum's time at Broadmead, I can't praise all the staff enough for the way they took care of here. Mum had Dementia and wasn't easy to deal with but they all gave her dignity, care and help that she needed. The staff are amazing and the home itself is second to none, light and comfortable, activities
and fun are important to them and all residents are encouraged to take part. I was always kept in the loop and the home contacted me regularly and nothing was too much for them to do for Mum. Sadly she passed away recently, I am forever grateful for the care given and for making her last few months as comfortable as possible. I don't think they will forget my Mum and I know I shall not forget them. A big 'thank you' to you all for all you do, I would highly recommend Broadmead Rest Home to anyone.

My husband was pretty impressed with his care. He was content, happy and relaxed and feedback we had was that he enjoyed and participated in all the leisure activities. He enjoyed the staff and could relate to other residents. All in all, I would say his week was stimulating and a big success.

I was looking for a new care home for my father back in October 2017 and after visiting six, I was fortunate enough to visit Broadmead and after a short meeting with the manager and seeing the organisation, I decided this was the only place for my father.


Four months have now passed and I am totally

impressed with everything. The staff are fantastic and clearly work as a professional team together.
Residents are well looked after around the clock with a great daily menu and entertainment. The resident's rooms are state of the art with specialists beds and on suite wet rooms, television and radio rather like a modern hotel.


The building is newly built to cater for the modern needs of residents with no expense spared rather than an old hotel that has simply been adapted to a budget.


Fantastic 10/10.

We have found the care home very caring and friendly. There is almost a family atmosphere. The staff are all very friendly and caring. The food is very good and there is a varied choice. They have an activity/lifestyle coordinator who is amazing and tries to involve all the residents. Sometimes the
staff seem very busy and this leaves other residents left a little.
This only happens occasionally depending on the demands of the other residents.

I have worked within the healthcare sector for over twenty years. My career started as a trainee healthcare assistant at a neuro-rehabilitation hospital in Wiltshire. I then progressed through the ranks working in varying-sized homes both nursing and residential with residents suffering from dementia.


I joined Broadmead Resthome in 2014 as a Healthcare Assistant on a part-time basis as I have two young children.


I then progressed to a Senior Carer and later to Head Of Care where I enjoyed taking on more responsibility and gaining knowledge.


I have successfully achieved my LMC Level 5 whilst at Broadmead Resthome and was promoted to Deputy Manager. As of March 2024, I have recently been appointed and promoted to Registered Manager.


Naturally, I'm proud of my achievements and experiences and enjoy using the knowledge I've gained to lead the team to help ensure we are always doing the best we can for our residents.

I have worked within the healthcare sector for over twenty years. Originally I started work in Care as a Healthcare Assistant and have worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, nursing homes and community care.


I then spent many years as a support worker for adults with learning disabilities and mental health and progressed through the ranks working in supported living housing and community care and became a team leader, then a deputy manager for six years.


I have successfully achieved my NVQ level 3.


I joined Broadmead Resthome in 2017 as a Healthcare Assistant as I wanted to gain knowledge and experience in a different sector. In these 3 years, I have progressed to a Senior Carer and later to Head Of Care where I enjoyed taking on more responsibility and gaining knowledge as well as working with HCA and SHCA to develop and support them in their roles. I am delighted to have also recently been promoted to Deputy Manager of Broadmead in March 2024.


I am a Dementia Champion for Broadmead Resthome and attend specialist training that I share with my team.


Like the rest of the team at Broadmead Resthome, I am always focused on providing the best possible care to our lovely residents.

I have been working within the Healthcare sector for over ten years now. I began working as a Healthcare assistant in Domiciliary care working within the community after having my son.


I then progressed and was promoted to Senior Healthcare Assistant taking on more responsibilities, at first, I found this challenging but soon settled into the role gaining even more experience.


I have completed my NVQ level 2 and will be aiming to complete my level 3 in the near future.


I joined Broadmead Resthome in March 2025 as Head of care. I am looking forward to progressing with my career and gaining more knowledge and experience which I can share with my team.


My passion is for caring and believe everyone deserves to live a happy and comfortable life in their so I am dedicated to provide the best care I possibly can for our residents.
