East Hill House offers flexible residential and residential dementia care to meet individual requirements. The dedicated team works very closely with each of the residents, their families, and loved ones to ensure personally tailored care plans are put in place.

The home is ideally equipped to provide residential support for elderly people living with different types of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia, and their specialist dementia training highlights the importance of meaningful activities and a stimulating environment.

The home gives as much independence as possible, letting individuals choose how to run their life in the home, and if they prefer to have dinner in front of the TV, or even dust their own room, the staff will make it happen. Just as putting their own stamp on their bedroom, the team will be on hand to help to personalise it with the things they love.

After initial worries found at age 93 it was more than a good idea to become a resident. It was the obvious solution to my circumstances I.e. Refusal to be a burden to daughters. Always liked my own company and I have it here together with every assistance, food, washing, cleaning. I have my own bedsit
plus own furniture.

Wonderful home, the staff are wonderful and I was treated so well when I visited and the home feels like a 'home' and you are made to feel so welcome. The deputy manager is very knowledgeable as well, which is nice to see. Well trained staff and staff that are willing to better themselves. The home
is like one big family, with all the staff and residents and all visitors so nice to see, as I had a vision in my head of what a home was and trust me I was so wrong. All homes should be like East Hill, so great work to all the staff.

I know the staff in this home and they go above and beyond the call of duty. Stay and work extra hours for residents needs. Great team and very well led and always better themselves to add better life for the residents of East Hill House.

My husband received very good care during his final few weeks of life. The staff showed him kindness, love and respect while seeing to all his needs. As always, we, the family were made very welcome and were also shown kindness at a very heartbreaking time.

I knew this was the right home for my wife as soon as I walked in.
My wife is very happy here, and you can see she enjoys living here.

The only negative is that the building is a little tired and needs freshening up- that, however, is more than compensated by the attentive, caring, thoughtful, lively, fun, inspirational. self-deprecating and respect-giving staff. Led by the manager this is a fantastic care home.

My mother is very happy and contented and being well looked after by all the staff. Whenever I visit my mother, staff always have time to talk to me about my mother. Recently we had Shelley my mums dog put down, mum naturally was very upset, when I took her dog away from her, the staff have been incredible,
in comforting my mum and explaining to her over and over again what has happened to her life long friend. I cannot praise them enough, so glad that we found East Hill.

Excellent residential home, driven by an energetic and ambitious manager, well supported by the deputy manager and activities co-ordinator and all carers with whom my wife and I come in contact with on a regular basis. All staff, without exception, are extraordinary, caring and patient with the residents,
however challenging. The activities programme deserves a particular mention, given it is so imaginative and ambitious in the context of the limited abilities of the resident - more passive enjoyment that active participation for many. Impressed by the democratic structure of the home with the encouraged participation of the residents and relatives. I could go on...

My 88 year old mother has been living at East Hill for approx 2½ years. She is very immobile with rheumatoid arthritis and very anxious. I am always impressed how East Hill cope with her increasing needs in a dignified caring manner. They also have unlimited patience with her.

I have lived here for over 6 years and have enjoyed everyday spent here. The staff and members have always looked been after in every way, the home and the garden are very well looked after too. The use of locals - schools etc. are very welcome here and we enjoy their visits with us. This home is as
it is, one large family living here at all times. The training here is very good, even helping other homes in their training, especially in dementia and alzheimer problems.

This is a very well run and friendly care home. My Mother spent 3 weeks on respite care with her dog. They were both looked after extremely well. The carers took Mum's dog out for walks in the garden and because the dog was looked after mum was very happy. When I visited her she was laughing and joking.
Now that she is back home she has decided that she misses the company and would like to move in as a permanent resident. So while we wait for a room, she will be attending day care. The home provides individual care packages to suit the needs of the residents. I cannot recommend this care home enough.

Emilie is our Home Manager at East Hill House, here’s a little bit more about herself and the home in her own words:


“I joined East Hill House four and half years ago as a domestic help. I then moved into the laundry, then the activities and wellbeing team, before becoming the home coordinator. I have recently taken on the role of Home Manager at East Hill House and feel my experience of different aspects of the home places me in a great position to lead the team here.


I love to be involved with the activities and events that we hold at East Hill House, as the best part of the job is my residents. Being with them and interacting in a meaningful way and supporting my team, which is a ‘good bunch’.


I love the local area. There are plenty of dementia-friendly activities happening, including walking football on Mondays and a dementia choir that our residents are involved in.”
