I find all residents are well cared for by the staff. Residents seem happy and comfortable with their new living arrangements. Residents are treated like family in this care home. Nutrition for the residents is of a good standard with choices, which is important. I find this home very welcoming and
always helpful when needed. Overall, I would recommend this care home.

I am very pleased with how my mum is treated at the care home. All the staff are very helpful and welcoming. Mum seems to get along with everyone and seems very content. She is always happy when I visit. She enjoys her food and is happy with the choices.

Both my parents have been residents in Engleburn. Unfortunately, my dad passed away last year, but my mum is still a resident.
My mother-in-law is also a resident at the home, and I believe that if it were not for the service provided by Engleburn, particularly during these challenging times, then
both my mum and my mother-in-law would probably not be with us.
The service and care that is provided at the home, both from managers and members of staff, is excellent, and both Mum's speak highly of the care that they are receiving.
Would I recommend Engleburn to prospective clients or their families? Definitely!

My dad has now been at Engleburn for over two years, and I can honestly say the staff do everything they can to make him feel part of the ‘family’. Everyone is friendly and helpful, and when I leave, I can honestly say that I don’t feel I need to worry about him, which is very reassuring. Throughout
the pandemic, which was a particularly difficult time for everyone, they did everything they could to look after the residents and keep them safe. They provided many opportunities to video call to help us keep in contact with our loved ones. They have regular activities and entertainers, which really helps everyone to feel part of something.

Mum has been at Engleburn for just under 3-months now after initially going there for respite. I can honestly say she's like a different person. She has her life back. She's safe and sound. Extremely happy and looks so well. The staff are really lovely. They are so dedicated to the occupants and treat
them like family. I am very comforted to see how contented Mum is, and I know I made the right decision.

My dad moved into Engleburn at the start of January and is very content and settled. The staff are so friendly, helpful and hard-working and always go the extra mile to help. Especially with these very challenging times, it’s been fantastic to have regular video calls, and when I have gone to visit
in person recently, the measures in place to keep everyone safe are second to none. Thanks to everyone for all their efforts - it’s really appreciated.

My father has been living in Engleburn for almost 4 years and I would just like to say how happy we are with the care during this time. Whilst the recent lockdowns have made it frustrating to visit him the staff have been very caring and always available for a chat. Whilst initially there were teething
issues with Dad adjusting to the situation my sisters and I now feel that he regards Engleburn as his home. I would like to thank all the staff for the care and hard work they have shown him.

Mum moved into Engleburn early 2020 and so only had a few weeks to settle in before lockdown occurred. Our experience has been that the staff have been nothing but exceptional during this time. They are the sole carers for the residents who have been unable until recently to have visitors and have been
unable to leave the care home apart from some exceptional circumstances. Mum has had a number of illnesses over the year and each time we have been kept up to date with how she is on a regular basis. If we have had any queries, we just need to call and if anything needs attention it is sorted immediately. Activities take place on a regular basis and she is actively encouraged to join in. Photos are posted on Facebook giving families a chance to see what is going on.

I have answered Good to some of the questions below as due to Covid I have not been inside the home, but from what I have seen from the foyer I believe Engleburn to be very clean and safe. The staff are really kind and caring and made Mum very welcome when she arrived last October. Mum was only going
to be there for 6 weeks but she settled down so well and got to know everyone, we decided she should stay there. Mum is very happy every time I visit her and I can see she is really comfortable with all the staff. The feedback from the Head Carer and her team is always very informative and have kept me up to date with Mum's progress. My experience with Engleburn has been an extremely positive one and even during difficult times during Covid the visiting has been accommodated when allowed and the Summerhouse was a great addition for this purpose. They have also posted lots of photos on Facebook of all the activities and it has been lovely to see Mum taking part. Thanks to all the Team.

I hoped not to need to use this website but Engleburn has twice ignored my written request for a copy of their Complaints Procedure. It is not unreasonable to want to know how a Complaint will be managed... by whom, how and when. My friend was admitted for two weeks of respite care. Eighteen days later
she died. Yet at the time of her admission she was mobile (used to a daily 40 mins walk) alert communicating, drinking and eating (provided the requirements of her special diet were met). On admission, Engleburn were provided with comprehensive details of all aspects of her health to ensure she was cared for appropriately but clearly, they failed in their Duty of Care. She had provided a negative Covid swab as a condition of her discharge from the hospital but was placed in two weeks isolation and I was told that I would not be able to visit her. The catastrophic decline in her health may explain why this was commuted to seven days but no one bothered to tell me and I was not granted a visit for a further four days.

We take all feedback very seriously and welcome those who have had contact with our service to liaise with the home in the first instance. To date we do not have a record of any complaints raised by yourself and as mentioned before we would be happy to call and discuss these with you. During Covid-19 the guidance around isolation and visiting has been ever-changing. Consistently the need for 14 days isolation has remained and until recently only visiting within the home for those on end of life. Our home follows these guidelines to reduce the risk of infection to our service users. The client's condition that was stated in the review is something we as a home did not experience, care was provided for the client's current condition upon arrival. Unfortunately, you were unable to come in and see the home for yourself. This is reflected in the review.

Both of my parents were in this care home together, my mother was in the dementia wing and my father the residential. Neither were allowed to see each other on a regular basis. My mother died in the home and my father is still traumatised by the experience of living there. Following my mother’s death,
we moved my father closer to London and the new care home is fantastic, he is looking and feeling much better, he is healthier and regained the weight that he lost. We even believe his dementia has improved.
Whilst he was at Engleburn they, on several occasions, overcharged us and even charged us for mother’s care after she died.
On collecting my father the management didn’t even speak to us, it was appalling.

Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions in the home the two different units had to be separated. All attempts were made to use video calls and communication between this couple. Again unfortunately due to circumstances prior to coming to the home, this couple could not be together in the same unit of the home which would have of course been the ideal situation. The gentleman in question had a full and active social life in the home and this included going out to weekly art classes until Covid 19 postponed these. There are two sides to every story.

My mum passed away in the dementia unit at Engleburn last week. She had been there 6 months. The care she received from the staff was exceptional. Not only did they treat her with respect and dignity but genuine love and affection. We were also made to feel comfortable and cared for. Highly recommend

My mother was a resident in Engleburn for just a few months before she passed away at the end of August. I found the staff and in particular the staff responsible for providing the care for my mother, to be both knowledgeable and understanding with regards to my mother's ongoing anxiety which was a
symptom of her Alzheimer's. They were caring and reassuring towards my mother, who felt comfortable with all the care staff within a few weeks. The head of care changed aspects of my mother's care as a result of both her own observations of and conversations with my mother and she was always available to discuss and act upon issues or concerns of my mother I took to her.


No residential home is perfect but to me, the care provided to my mother was the most important thing and I was very happy with the care provided at Engleburn.
