Hollybank is a small, friendly family run home, in the beautiful old village of Botley, Hampshire. Built in 1883, Hollybank is a lovely Victorian House, with a large garden.

Residents are encouraged to live an active life where possible and to pursue personal hobbies and activities. The priority is for freedom of choice in a homely and comfortable atmosphere.

The home has completed a six-bed extension, and refurbished the whole building, and every room in the home has its own en-suite wet room.

Now there is a beautiful lounge /dining room, a second smaller lounge area, and a relaxation/ treatment room to name but a few of the new features.

My mother had been a resident for six years and during that time her care has been exemplary. I have been supported by management and staff and can't thank them all enough. Mum's dementia doesn't always make her easy to deal with but she is always cared for with kindness and dignity.

I am so pleased my sister and I chose this home for my mum. It is very much run as a small, caring and fun-filled home, and it is clear that staff know the residents really well, and are able to respond to their personal preferences and their personalities.
The home's approach in navigating a route
through COVID has been spot-on, in my opinion. There has been a sensible blend of meeting the emotional needs of residents and their loved ones, and keeping residents shielded from the threat of infection.
My mum has fully embraced life at Hollybank Rest Home and is very happy there. She is also clearly very well cared for. Before going into care, her attitude was very much 'shoot me before putting me in one of those care homes'! We have been delighted to see just how much her attitude has changed as a result of first-rate care with the all-important personal touch.

My mum has been a resident since November 2019 at Hollybank. The care manager who runs this home has been outstanding with all procedures in protecting all residents, kept us up to speed with all progress and a pleasure to deal with, outstanding is really an understatement for how she runs things. I
know my mum is safe, well cared for which is a great peace of mind for me.

Mum spent her last 20 months at Hollybank before passing away just over two weeks ago.
Mum always said that it was the best decision she ever made to move to Hollybank. All she wanted was to be cared for and that’s exactly what they did. She loved them all and they became an extended family.
During
Covid we had video calls set up for every Friday at 11 am which was a lifeline for both Mum and me. She was safe, well cared for and happy which was a comfort to me.
During Mum's last few days staff sat with her when I wasn’t around, even through the night so she wasn’t alone.
The manager and staff were there not only for Mum but for me too during those last few days and even there celebrating my Mum's life at her funeral. You are all amazing and have a gift.
Thank you everyone at Hollybank.

My granny, a fiercely independent lady of very sound mind, had to make the move into a care home a few years ago due to her failing physical health. She was in her late 90s. After a false start in another home that didn't live up to her (normal) standards of cleanliness and comfort, she moved to Hollybanks
and she thoroughly enjoyed every moment there! The team made her feel so welcome, allowing her to dress her room with everything which was important to her and made her feel completely at home. She was superbly looked after by the team, all of them making the effort to spend time with her, listening to her stories, spoiling her with her meal choices and generally helping her to live her final years with the fun, respect and dignity she deserved (until 101!). After living on her own for many years since the death of my grandfather, the attention and affection she experienced at Hollybanks made her time there a very special one. We can't thank them enough.

Dear Abby,
Your Granny was indeed fiercely independent and of sound mind and from that she leaves us with amazing lasting memories or "Veraism's" as we call them. She certainly enjoyed life even in lockdown she kept her spirits high and knew more about what was going on outside the home than we did, especially keeping up with family "gossip", giving even "the chasers" a run for their money, not bad for someone who was 101. She was an absolute inspiration. We remember her always and with only smiles on our faces when we do. Thank you for trusting us with someone so precious.

My mother spent the last 18 months of her life at Hollybank age 101 years, having lived on her own right up until she was nearly 100. She had always been resistant to going into a rest home but once through the door, just on a visit, she didn’t want to come out! I and the rest of the family believe
she spent the happiest last months of her life, since my father’s death 29 yrs previously, there. Saying it was like a 5-star hotel. She even had some of her own personal furniture. The care and compassion given to her were second to none, nothing was too much trouble. Throughout the pandemic, the manager always found time to get us together over a FaceTime call which was wonderful. When she passed, it was with the allotted member of the family and the manager by her side laughing and joking to the end. What more could we want.
The manager was wonderful throughout the pandemic keeping everybody, staff included, free from the virus which was a huge achievement and I thank her so much.

Granny moved to Hollybank in her 100th year. She had always been proud and independent and never wanted to go into a care home but she could no longer live by herself. She came to see Hollybank and immediately was impressed and said she would be happy to move here - she never regretted it. The staff
are amazing – the care, compassion and love are exceptional and (until lockdown) I visited daily and was always impressed by the care shown to all residents. Granny loved it and I am convinced that the care, stimulation and fun kept her going for another precious 18 months.
The manager and her team are the best. One night as the manager came to say goodbye on her way home, Granny said she fancied a pancake, so the manager took off her coat and made Granny her pancake. 1 very quickly become 23+ as all the residents, having smelt them, decided they wanted one too! Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with a smile and love.
A wonderful home.

The management and staff of this home are outstanding, in that the care and safety of their residents come above all else, including the staffs' own families. Throughout 2020 and now well into 2021, they have all worked so well together to not only successfully safeguard the people that we have put
into their care, but also give their cares enormous warmth and friendship. And they have no doubt given up much in their lives to do this - I think few many homes can truly say that.

My dear Grandma has lived at Hollybank for 3 years and she couldn’t have been better loved and cared for by the manager and her wonderful team. Throughout Covid, with none of our family able to visit, they have kept her and all the other residents happy, healthy, stimulated and above all, safe. This
was at the expense of themselves and their families and we are extremely grateful to every one of them for their care and kindness. Hollybank is a lovely home away from home and I wouldn’t wish for my Grandma to be anywhere else.

I have peace of mind that our mother resides here, she is happy, safe, well cared for, treated with dignity and respect, and her health is looked after. The team go above and beyond and have worked tirelessly in these recent times to keep residents well putting themselves and their families lives on
the back burner.

It indeed has been a very tough 15 months but we remained covid-19 free throughout the pandemic a testament to the team's hard work.
The team had to make huge sacrifices to ensure residents are cared for and supported, keeping the residents safe was paramount and even throwing 90th parties as we did for your mum, we are currently planning a Las Vegas themed party at mum's request for later this month for her birthday and the cake is on order, she even designed it herself.

Hollybank Rest Home has everything you need for a happy life, when I became a resident here in September I was greeted by the manager and staff with great kindness which made me feel at home right away. The decor is very tasteful, a lovely lounge with every comfort, you have a choice of meals which
are very tasteful and medication is always attended to. The carers are so helpful and nothing is ever too much trouble.

Mum has been at Hollybank for two years and we feel very lucky to have found such a lovely home for her. She has a lovely room which was decorated for her and was taken on a shopping trip to pick curtains and cushions. There are lots of activities to do, lovely homemade food, birthdays and special occasions
are always celebrated and lots of fun and laughter. During lockdown 2020 the home has been exceptional in keeping everyone safe, with the residents safety always coming first. The manager and staff are always available to help and nothing is too much trouble, myself and the rest of my family would highly recommend Hollybank.

I am the daughter of a resident at Hollybank for the last 2 years.
My mother has always been treated with the utmost care and consideration. She has blossomed under the loving attendance afforded her. She has been given special food to tempt her when she has been unwell, and nothing that we ask
of the staff to do for my mother is too much trouble. Every member of the staff is kind and thoughtful. The manager has always replied to my emails promptly, even when off duty. She has done everything in her power to make my mother feel happy and loved. I cannot speak more highly of her care.
The Home itself is always clean and feels cheerful and welcoming.
My family and I feel very thankful that we have chosen Hollybank for our mother to spend her last days there.

As we all live at a distance from our mother, we have had to place our trust completely in the manager and her team at Hollybank. This carehome really is a home from home which provides comfortable, personalised care for every resident. The managers professionalism, dedication, decision-making, kindness

Mum has been living at Hollybank Rest Home for the last two years and she has been extremely happy there. The staff are very friendly and kind and treat mum how we would ourselves. Mum has a very pretty room which is always clean and tidy and there is a wonderful homely atmosphere throughout Hollybank
and all the rooms are light and airy. There is a very pretty garden with plenty of seats and beautiful hanging baskets in the summer. The food is good and always nicely presented with flowers on the tables and the staff help with feeding when it's needed. There are a number of activities for the residents and Mum particularly likes a good song and dance and they all join in and really enjoy themselves. My sister and I have been immensely impressed with the love and kindness mum has received whilst she's lived at Hollybank but above all, we both have total peace of mind, which is worth a great deal. I honestly don't think we could have found a better home from home for our dear mum.

Hollybank provides a wonderful safe and caring environment for all residents. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The level of care is amazing and Mum has thrived and is so happy here which is the most important thing. I would also add that the support given to
family members is above and beyond, particularly in the current situation of COVID where it is very hard not being able to visit our loved ones. The daily activities are imaginative and fun, the food is lovely, the environment is spotlessly clean and the facilities are brilliant. We are so blessed that we found somewhere so wonderful for our lovely to Mum stay. Thank you, everyone, at Hollybank for all that you do.

We currently have two available rooms. One room is on the ground floor and the second room is on the first floor. we have a lift between floors and two stair ways. All of our rooms are decorated to the taste of the individuals wishing to come and stay, all of our rooms have en- suite wet rooms.
