The care given was excellent and I was very reassured by attention given after a rather distressing time in hospital. Medication given particular atention. I had hoped for more interaction and activity. This may be rather unreasonable given that my husband has rather particular needs. He thoroughly
enjoys his time and displays a degree of independence usual at home. THank you so much.

My aunt lived at The Lawn for more than five years. She made many friends among her fellow residents, staff and members of the very active Support Group. These were five of the happiest years of her later life. She was a very strong-minded person and the staff allowed her independence and dignity while
giving her all the care and support that she needed.

My mother, who is 92 and has dementia and osteoporosis, has been at The Lawn for more than 2 years.
She is well cared for in a very safe environment.
The staff are always kind and spend time to ensure that my mother understands what is happening.
She is able to take part in a range of activities
and outings which she enjoys.
The staff are generally knowledgeable and it is clear that they undertake regular training.
I have recommended The Lawn to friends and work colleagues.

My mother has been at The Lawn for over 7 years now and I have been very happy with her care. Everyone is always very attentive to her needs. When she has been ill, I feel that they all gave extra attention both to her and to me.
She is my only relative and I know that the staff are aware of this
and they help me through any crisis.
I feel very lucky that she is in such a pleasant environment, although she is bed bound and does not come out of her room. I visit 2-3 times per week and always find the staff very friendly.

Lovely home. My mother-in-law is well cared for and enjoys the company and activities. Beautiful, well-kept grounds. Caring and friendly staff who treated residents as individuals - all staff, not just staff. Varied menu with good home cooked food served in a pleasant dining room. Wine and nibbles available
before lunch and supper!

The family chose this home as it had a very pleasant atmosphere on the initial visit. The staff were helpful and the rooms inviting. Since then we have been very satisfied. Everyone is friendly and caring and great efforts are made to ensure residents are happy and feel at home as far as possible.

“Caring for others runs in my family. My Mum is a Nurse and my Dad is a Paramedic, so I was very fortunate to grow up in a very caring environment; it really spurred me on to follow a career in caring.


I have worked in the Care Sector for nine years, five of those with Friends of the Elderly, becoming the Care Home Manager at The Lawn in 2020. Each member of The Lawn Team is devoted to keeping each resident safe, happy, inspired and motivated, every day.


We support and work with our residents to be engaged and stimulated, by taking part in our wide and varied activities, having a chat and reminiscing over a cup of tea or taking a stroll around our gardens, perhaps even bumping into The Lawn pet rabbits – Snowy and Rudolph.


At The Lawn, we have a very open, caring, supportive and positive culture and a happy and loving environment. We really are a family. It is a home, not a care home and together our residents and team are one big happy family.”
