Milkwood House offers luxury care accommodation for up to 43 people. The house is suitable for wheelchair users and the highly trained staff are experienced with residents who may be suffering from physical impairments or Dementia.

This elegant facility has attractive grounds and a homely environment, with the choice of two large communal lounges and dining areas, allowing residents to achieve a calm and relaxing lifestyle.

At Milkwood House, residents enjoy an effective level of care, whilst having regular local outings and entertainment to enjoy, with TV point in all rooms and pets accommodated where possible.

Milkwood House is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and its last inspection was 22 January 2018.

The home is at this time waiting for its next visit from CQC which will update the date on their website, however the CQC has been in contact with the home to check in and ensure they are meeting CQC requirements through:

Super friendly staff, cannot praise them enough for the care they provide.
They are extremely attentive to my grandmother.
My grandmother seems extremely happy in their care and the attention to keep family updated during the pandemic has been second to none.

In the short time our mother has been in the care home we have found both management and staff to be both helpful and caring. We are also kept up to date with information and can speak to our mum on a regular basis, especially through lockdown.

I am the 'local to the home' friend of a resident whose family live in Yorkshire. I was informed by the family my friend was very ill during the lockdown, but on every occasion, I phoned the staff were most happy to update me on her progress. She has recovered thanks in no small part to the care given
to her by the staff. I have always been made most welcome over the past two years by the staff and I am always aware of familiar faces. I was so pleased to receive the latest issue of 'Milky Way' including our update letter indicating the new procedures for visiting.

My elderly mother has been resident at Milkwood for 2 and 1/2 years and I have nothing but praise for the staff and home. The staff are dedicated and very caring towards the residents and as a visitor (pre-COVID) you always receive a very warm welcome.
Residents always seem very happy and well cared
for.
The house is very well laid out, quite spacious and always very clean.
The residents have regular activities, entertainment and outings.
The house seemed very well prepared, well in advance and during COVID lockdown.
I have been regularly updated with the situation at the home in general and my mother in particular. I have had my emailed letters printed for her and regular video calls with her.
The term "home" is very apt and I have no hesitation recommending Milkwood for your loved ones.

My nan was placed here as an emergency placement. We couldn’t have wished for a better care home, my nan was shown nothing but care and compassion from all the staff from the housekeepers all the way up to the managers. Would definitely recommend this care home.

The staff are amazing, always happy to talk and take the time to reassure the residents (and visitors), there is a genuine relaxed atmosphere. Varied and stimulating activities are regularly provided for the residents along with fresh, home-cooked meals. I viewed several care homes before selecting
Milkwood and discovered several of them buy in 'pre-made aeroplane-style' meals. So discovering Milkwood cooked wholesome meals in their kitchen was a real bonus. The most important fact is that Milkwood has been my Uncle's home for over 5 years and he is happy, content and well cared for.

My mum was a resident at Milkwood for six years until she passed away in August. During that time I cannot fault the care she received. She had a lovely room which was bright and always spotlessly clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. Management were always accessible and organised plenty of activities
and outings. The whole atmosphere of the home was relaxed and happy. The food was plentiful and very good but above all, Mum was treated with dignity and her needs were met with care, understanding, patience and good humour. I would recommend Milkwood to anyone looking for the best of care for their loved one.

My mother was at Milkwood for seven months, during which time the staff there dealt with her severe Alzheimer's with kindness and compassion. All of the staff were very professional and looked after mum with patience and good humour. Her room was nice and spacious, the residents' areas were welcoming
and comfortable. I felt that she was treated with dignity and respect during this very difficult time of her life. The staff were also very kind to my father when he came to visit.

My husband was admitted to Milkwood House Care Home for safe care as he suffers from Alzheimer's disease. His welcome on his first day was very welcoming. He appeared to settle fairly well initially, then more settled and I was able to settle after a few weeks after the ability to be able to discuss
his on-going care. His care was maintained at a good standard. In his latter weeks it was obvious he was very unwell and received end of life care, this was of a very good standard. From the holistic care approach including district nurses, Gp's and spiritually the local minister from Liss. This for me was very comforting overall. Thank you.

I cannot praise the staff and manager enough for the care they gave to my father. He had vascular dementia and was treated with the love and care that family would give, but also with the most professional medical care and in a completely secure environment that we could not give him at home. During
his last days, the staff and the manager provided the most incredible care and helped ease his pain. Thank you!

The response time to the doorbell was swift. We were able to walk through the home to find our resident. There were sufficient chairs and space for us to socialise well. We are provided with everything we requested coffee, glasses and biscuits. Staff are always helpful and obliging.

The care given by the staff is amazing.
They are always on hand and are never too busy to stop and talk to/reassure residents.
Everyone is very caring.
The activities are varied and the resident I am responsible for really enjoys them and talks about them - they stimulate her.

This care home only looked after my mother-in-law for 3 weeks before she sadly passed away. Those 3 weeks meant the world to me because I knew she was safe and being looked after properly. We only wish that we had placed her here back in April, where maybe with their amazing activities schedule and
amazing staff, they would have given us more happy memories.

I started as a carer in 2018 and took over as Manager in 2021.


I have completed my NVQ Level 5 Leadership and Management in Adult Care as well as an NVQ 2 Dementia Care.
