Oak Tree Lodge is a residential care home, situated on the edge of the New Forest. It makes the most of a beautiful location in order to help people achieve a comfortable and satisfying retirement.

The home is within walking distance of shops and other amenities. Ashurst station, with frequent trains into Southampton, Bournemouth, London and other large cities in the South, is a five minute walk away.

A professional team aim to provide the very best facilities and care for all people living in the home. The dedication and devotion of highly-trained staff has established their reputation as an friendly and caring home.

Oak Tree Lodge is a lovely, modern and tastefully decorated care home. It is registered with the Care Quality Commission to accommodate 19 residents in 18 bedrooms, all fitted with a nurse call system. Most rooms have en-suite facilities, whilst two assisted bathrooms and an assisted shower are available for those who need it.

Residents can relax in bright, spacious and comfortable lounges, a large conservatory or quiet sitting room. A charming landscaped garden is perfect for enjoying the fresh air and beautiful, scenic surroundings.

The appetising, tasty and nutritious menu at Oak Tree Lodge provides residents with a healthy and varied diet. Specific dietary requirements and residents’ preferences are catered for. Meals are served in a well-appointed dining room and residents can also dine in their own rooms if they wish.

The staff at Oaktree are incredible. They looked after my grandmother for 8-years before she recently passed away from old age. They treated her with dignity and loved her, which made our whole family extremely grateful.

Oak Tree Lodge has given exceptional care to our grandmother. The staff are wonderful and have treated her like their family. Great thought goes into the daily activities which include music, art and cooking - for someone with dementia these have been incredibly important to Nana. Thank you for looking
after her so beautifully in her final years.

My nan has been at this care home now for over 8-years. The current management is amazing. They really care about the residents and treat them like their own family. There are great daily activities with lots of music which the residents love. I know that my nan is looked after, and I am provided constant
updates about her care.
I would highly recommend this home.

Oak Tree is a small care home. We are delighted with the level of care our Mum receives. Everyone is kind, compassionate and empathetic, they always have time to listen to us as well as our Mum. During this challenging time (Coronavirus) we are pleased that our Mum is so well cared for in such a safe,
caring environment. We have regular social media photo updates and can contact at any time, which is so important and reassuring.

Mum required full-time care. Social recommended several homes but we knew Mum would not have been happy in any. As she was self-funding, we wanted her to have the best. On walking into Oak Tree Lodge, we knew this was the one, it was home from home. The bedroom she had is the one in the photo, very
similar to her own. Our tour was very thorough and everything was explained i.e. care/entertainment etc. Food was lovely home-cooked and we were offered refreshments each time we visited. Mum loved the carers as if they were family, it was so comforting to see the care she had. She was checked upon every 2-3 hours and turned each time to make her comfortable. She was also turned through the night as my Husband and Brother witnessed as they were bedside for the last week. Expensive?? Maybe but a 5-star hotel B&B without the care received here would cost more. All Staff were so loving so caring so professional. Mum passed away at 99 having been there for 6 months.

This is a small friendly care home working with the residents best interests at heart. Like all care facilities, you are never going to find the 'perfect' place but Oak Tree Lodge comes close for my mother. The staff are always welcoming and chatty and work hard to make the residents stay as comfortable
as they can. The home cooked food is always of a high standard - they have recently had a change of cook, so we hope the quality will be maintained.

Oak Tree Lodge is a well-run home with a family atmosphere. The home and garden are continually being redecorated or upgraded. Staffing: Efficient, caring manager and staff that are well trained, organised and attentive. The catering staff are very good at producing home-cooked meals, making birthday
cakes and various celebration foods and the kitchen is always in good order. First-rate care with medications and keeping the family informed. Joy is also on the agenda at Oak Tree Lodge with weekly in house functions, garden parties/BBQ's in the summer, fancy dress parties with all the seasonal events celebrated. All in all, very very good and gives the service users family peace of mind. Well done to the owners, managers and all the staff.

My mother is well looked after at Oak Tree Lodge. The staff are caring and spend time with her and all the residents. Although mym has dementia they involve her in activities and she especially likes music.
They have ensured she has a doll that gives her comfort. The food is excellent and her bedroom
is spacious and always fresh.

Oak Tree Lodge is a small, very friendly care home.
The relationship between the staff and residents is outstanding. Nothing is ever too much trouble and all the staff are very professional. Although the building is small, it is very well maintained. I would not hesitate to recommend the home to anyone
wanting real value for money care for an elderly relative or friend.

This is a delightful small home with a family atmosphere. The staff are without exception caring and friendly and prepared to go the extra mile and treat every resident with respect. Residents are encouraged to take part in simple activities but only if they wish to do so. Everyone enjoys the man with
the keyboard who plays favourite songs of yesteryear.

I previously submitted a review in December 2015 following my mother becoming a resident in January 2015 followed by my father in February 2015. My father passed away in September 2016 and my mother in February 2017. Both my brother and I, including our families, will always be extremely grateful to

I would like to thank all the staff at Oak Tree Lodge care home. You all made my father very welcome, with the care and support you gave him. When choosing a home for a parent it can be very daunting and upsetting but my brother and I could not have found a better place, it was homely, friendly and
the care offered was tailored to my dad's needs. The last few months of my dad's life were happy and this was down to the compassion and consideration shown to him by all at the home. Once again we would like to thank you all.

Oak Tree Lodge provides excellent care with staff who are understanding and patient, ensuring Mum's needs are met as an individual.
Staff are supported to undergo training to maintain high standards of care and to keep up to date with new practices.
The rooms are attractively decorated and a lift
and specialist bath equipment is installed.
There is a bright sunny conservatory for residents and families to sit and enjoy and most afternoons activities or entertainment is provided.
Hairdressing and chiropody services are also available.

Kate Biddlecombe

Job Title: Manager

Oak Tree Lodge is owned by Carewise Homes Group and is run by Care Manager, Mrs Kate Biddlecombe. Kate started her career as a midwife and specialised in community midwifery care, antenatal education and home births. After raising her children Kate returned to work but switched to elderly care, primarily working with dementia patients. Kate has been with Oak Tree Lodge for six years and worked from senior carer to deputy manager and now manager. Kate has gained her NVQ level 5 in Health and Social Care and holds qualifications in end-of-life care, dementia care and safeguarding as well as others.


Attentive and compassionate carers are available twenty-four hours a day. The high staff-to-resident ratio enables us to provide companionship and stimulation, as well as tending to your physical needs.


In addition to the Care staff, Oak Tree Lodge Care Home employs expert cooks, domestic staff, catering and kitchen assistants and a maintenance person.
