Oak Tree Lodge is a residential care home, situated on the edge of the New Forest. It makes the most of a beautiful location in order to help people achieve a comfortable and satisfying retirement.

The home is within walking distance of shops and other amenities. Ashurst station, with frequent trains into Southampton, Bournemouth, London and other large cities in the South, is a five minute walk away.

A professional team aim to provide the very best facilities and care for all people living in the home. The dedication and devotion of highly-trained staff has established their reputation as an friendly and caring home.

Oak Tree Lodge is a lovely, modern and tastefully decorated care home. It is registered with the Care Quality Commission to accommodate 19 residents in 18 bedrooms, all fitted with a nurse call system. Most rooms have en-suite facilities, whilst two assisted bathrooms and an assisted shower are available for those who need it.

Residents can relax in bright, spacious and comfortable lounges, a large conservatory or quiet sitting room. A charming landscaped garden is perfect for enjoying the fresh air and beautiful, scenic surroundings.

The appetising, tasty and nutritious menu at Oak Tree Lodge provides residents with a healthy and varied diet. Specific dietary requirements and residents’ preferences are catered for. Meals are served in a well-appointed dining room and residents can also dine in their own rooms if they wish.

Mum has only been at Oak Tree Lodge for a few months. She settled in very quickly and is happy, on most of my visits she tells me how kind all of the caregivers are and that they can't do enough for all of the residents. I agree and feel that all the staff are friendly, kind and caring. The home has
a happy community feel to it and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Mother has been a resident at Oak Tree Lodge since February 2014. She chose it despite not suffering from dementia - Oak Tree Lodge specialises in this type of care. Her care has been warm, supportive and tailored to her needs. The environment is clean, bright and welcoming. My mother prefers not to
socialise with other residents, her wish for privacy has always been respected. In her 100th year my mother could not wish for better care.

My mother has been a resident at Oaktree Lodge, Ashurst for 3½ years. She is always treated with the utmost respect and sympathetic care from what I have seen this level of care extends to all residents. Families and friends are encouraged to call in anytime so we see a range of highs and lows that
are ever present for elderly folk with dementia. I can not speak more highly of all the staff. They are kind, full of fun and approachable. The Christmas and Summer parties are delighted and very heart warming without their support I would have floundered.

All the staff seem very caring and helpful. The food is cooked on the premises and there is a choice. All the residents look very clean and tidy. Would like a few more activities but that would mean paying more no doubt. The staff are very kind and try to reassure those resident who have dementia. There
is very little "turnover" in staff so they get to know the resident well.

Kate Biddlecombe

Job Title: Manager

Oak Tree Lodge is owned by Carewise Homes Group and is run by Care Manager, Mrs Kate Biddlecombe. Kate started her career as a midwife and specialised in community midwifery care, antenatal education and home births. After raising her children Kate returned to work but switched to elderly care, primarily working with dementia patients. Kate has been with Oak Tree Lodge for six years and worked from senior carer to deputy manager and now manager. Kate has gained her NVQ level 5 in Health and Social Care and holds qualifications in end-of-life care, dementia care and safeguarding as well as others.


Attentive and compassionate carers are available twenty-four hours a day. The high staff-to-resident ratio enables us to provide companionship and stimulation, as well as tending to your physical needs.


In addition to the Care staff, Oak Tree Lodge Care Home employs expert cooks, domestic staff, catering and kitchen assistants and a maintenance person.
