I looked after my mother but due to travelling a great deal she needed to settle her into a caring and comfortable home.
She loves it at Osborne Lodge and seems to have gained a new lease of life. Her room is extremely comfortable, the food excellent, and the staff caring and friendly. I would recommend
it to anyone.

Both my parents came to live at Osborne Lodge in June 2016 as a result of my father having dementia. My mother needs very little help as she is mobile enough to do her own personal care, but does need help in and out of a bath.
My father needed twenty-four-hour supervision which he received at Osborne
Lodge 100%. He was sometimes difficult to deal with but the staff handled it well.
Sadly, he suffered a stroke which was to end his life of ninety-seven years. He was discharged from hospital back into Osborne Lodge's care. He was then given end of life palliative care where nature took its course.
This care was excellent and I will never be able to thank them enough.

Osborne Lodge has been an absolute find we needed somewhere near home and somewhere we would be welcomed for a place for my husband. He needs day care to stimulate him all of which he gets with the activities and days out they provide. In the future as he has settled in so well, extra days and overnight
will be booked for respite for me. What a find clean, homely, superb staff always happy.

I came to Osborne Lodge as an emergency in May 2015 and have been cared for and entertained very well ever since. I hope I may remain here.

We bought my mother to Osborne Lodge on April 1st after a four hour ambulance journey from Stoke-on-Trent. We were given a great welcome. Mum took a while to settle in but she was treated with great care and friendliness as was I. I visit mum regularly and am always amazed at the patience and jolly
attitude of the staff. Nothing is too much trouble and the level of care is excellent. Osborne Lodge is more like a five star hotel than a care home. Mum has a wonderful place to spend to the rest of her life.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.744)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.744) out of 10 for Osborne Lodge Rest Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.262 for Osborne Lodge Rest Home is calculated as follows: ( (48 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (12 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.262

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.482 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Osborne Lodge Rest Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 34 registered maximum number of service users is 6.8. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.8 = 0.882

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Lisa Beauchamp

Job Title: Deputy Manager

My name is Lisa and I have worked at Osborne Lodge for the past 17 years, I started as a cleaner and enjoyed working in the home so much that I began to train and progress to become a carer, then a senior carer, head of care and then to deputy manager, making care my career.

I have loved every moment of my carer, especially interacting with the residents and ensuring they are safe, happy and content, with every story and life history of our residents, I became more passionate and wanted to give the residents the best that I could. Passing on knowledge to new staff is another passion. Every day I learn more than I thought possible myself.

My nan was my inspiration for my choice of career she was a fantastic lady who taught me how to respect others and I believe she is the reason for my caring nature. My nan passed on some lovely quotes and this one always stuck in my mind, "enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the biggest" This is how I feel about care even the smallest thing you can do for someone is the biggest thing for them.

I enjoy attending every training session and am working my way through level 5 in care management.

Outside work, I enjoy beach walks, spending time with my friends, good food and going to the gym.
