Tall Oaks provides residential support and accommodation for up to six adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), autism, sensory impairments and complex needs.

The team understand the importance of each individual’s passions and interests and support them to express themselves to make choices and decisions about their lives.

The home offers a homely, safe and personalised environment. All six bedrooms have ensuites and overhead track hoists. There is an open plan lounge/dining area and a kitchen which has lowered sideboards to enable people to become more independent with preparing food and drinks. There is a lift which makes the home fully wheelchair accessible.

The garden has a log cabin which is used all year round, a great space for family and friends to visit. There is also a sensory area and people are supported to grow flowers, fruit and vegetables.

Our son has been a resident at Tall Oaks since October 2019 and we love it. The staff have made every effort to make him feel welcome and have involved us in every decision and made his transition into his new home go really smoothly. When Covid-19 hit the world the team followed every possible guidance
and kept the house safe, although it was hard not to see our son for a period of time we were telephoned and emailed to make us aware of how things were doing in the house. They had to make sure all the residents were safe and protected and their hard work has been proven as there have been no cases of Covid within Tall Oaks. We as a family cannot thank the manager and her team enough for looking after our son and his fellow residents.

My daughter has been very well cared for in the 14 years she has lived at Tall Oaks. She is happy and settled. During the pandemic when all her regular activities have been stopped and she has been unable to have contact with family, they have done a fantastic job of helping her to cope with something
intensely difficult for her. We expected a lot of meltdowns and self-harm but in fact, this has been fairly minimal and it has been down to the hard work of the staff in keeping her calm, happy and enjoyably occupied.
