We are made to feel very welcome when we visit and thanked. (2 of us visit weekly to chat to residents on a Thursday morning). I cannot comment in detail on all of the categories but drinks are available by each chair in the day room. Sweets and biscuits are often given out mid-morning when we are there
which residents enjoy. Picture displays are often changed.

Little homely touches mean a lot.

Overall the care given to my sister has been excellent. I even consider the staff to being one of my friends now. That proves how friendly they are.

My aunt was given notice to quit another care home locally, due to unacceptable behaviour - shouting and more importantly lashing out and hitting staff. Sundial took her on and gave her the attention she needed, the care she needed and set boundaries for her and gave her more security.
Her behaviour
improved here, she ate better, my visits were more positive as she didn't shout at me anymore.
She was depressed and had been for a long time but she was starting to respond more positively. She took up reading again (many books). Sundial was the right place for her. She died 19th October 2017.

When visiting mum, the home is clean and the staff are helpful and friendly. They conduct themselves in a professional manner and have a good relationship with the clients. They are always happy to help out when asked and we have not had any problems in years.

The staff are always friendly it is just like visiting my friend at her own house. I go and make a cup of tea whenever I go to visit her she is always happy and has come out of herself as she was very withdrawn before she went to Sundial Cottage.

Very friendly staff. Always slow good care to the residents. Always happy for us to wait every week. Nice to see activities for the residents. This is one of the best care homes in this area.

It was our first time dealing with anything like all the care of Mum.
Sundial Cottage made this experience so much easier for all of the family.
Nothing was too much trouble and they were always able to talk and reassure us.
Mum has had so much care and kindness. Mum has improved so much and has
come to enjoy her life again, talking and laughing.

We care for families and welcome their involvement. We recognise the immense burden that can be lifted from their shoulders and as a team, we feel proud to do that and ensure their loved ones receive the care and attention they deserve.

Vascular Dementia is an illness requiring vast amount of care and patience, which is what my mother receives at Sundial.
Placing a loved one in a care home is a very difficult emotional thing to do. The staff here are so kind and gentle. My mothers room is always spotlessly clean as are her clothes
and person. It is so reassuring for me to know she is receiving the best possible care. Sundial is not a large home, and this helps to create a homely atmosphere where residents are in close contact with each other. Communication is excellent, I know I will be notified of any problems without the need to phone the home endlessly.
I would recommend this care home to anyone looking for a caring home for their relative.

When you know the time is right (and should probably have been months before) to place your parent, sibling into a home look no further than Sundial Cottage. The friendly staff and management put us at our easy, understood our concerns and guilt. We felt like failures, felt we had let our mum down.
Sundial is a small care home which feels like a home. Food is prepared and cooked on site and the varied meals goes down well with residents. Activities are geared towards the residents, quizzes, tai chi, music, colouring etc. Ideal location, no traffic danger, country lane.
