The White House offers family run specialist dementia care for younger and older people living with dementia. Providing excellent person centred care from consistent staff, who are well trained in all aspects of dementia care, the setting is supportive, encouraging, stimulating, and always with a smile.

A beautiful country house with three linked, purpose-built units, residents enjoy formal gardens, patios, fish and duck ponds, and an aviary with exotic birds. Bedrooms are single all with en-suite facilities. The White House is a pet friendly home with a resident dog and cats.

Lavender-edged walkways offer an outside space where residents can enjoy the many animals, including tortoises, exotic birds, miniature donkeys, wallabies, horses, black swans and ornamental ducks.

The centre's pub, Kev's Corner, is situated in the redesigned central courtyard, freely accessible from all eleven communal areas.

A weekly GP in-house surgery ensures the best possible care is provided for the individual's physical and mental health. M.H.T and G.P. meet in house bi-monthly.

There are certified trainers for in-house training in health and safety, fire safety, safeguarding, DoLS, best interest decisions, care planning and risk assessment. RBS Mentor services provide guidance, procedures, audits for health and safety and employment law.

Daily in-house activities offer various pursuits which include cooking, arts, crafts, gardening, outdoor and indoor games, RITA a digital reminiscence system, activities and lots more with touch screen technology. There are twice weekly outings and various providers visit to offer music therapy, visiting theatre, animal shows. There is a hairdressing salon, regular chiropodist visits, daily newspapers and massage and therapy treatments that are included in the fee. Each week a resident from each of the four units enjoys a special day, chosen by the individual, arranged by their keywork

My mother has been a resident at The White House for four months now. The staff and management here are absolutely first class, very informative and ready to answer any questions I may have. Mum has settled in nicely and has made friends with other residents which is lovely to see. Mum's room is nicely
decorated with a view over the garden. She spends many hours wandering in the garden looking at all the animals and I know she is very safe out there. The home is very welcoming, each and every member of staff do an exceptional job, attending to any residents' needs. Staff arrange so many great activities for the residents so there is always something to join in with. Nothing is too much trouble, even when Mum is stubborn, at times, the staff always manage to find a way to get her to cooperate. The White House is outstanding in every way and I would recommend it to anyone who was looking for a beautiful home for their loved one.

My father went to stay at The White House in December 2021. He has vascular dementia and complex mental health needs. From admission to date they have been excellent. All the staff are caring, professional and have a high level of knowledge. Communication is excellent and everyone is always aware of
what is happening with the residents. My family and I cannot rate them enough and would highly recommend to anyone who has the difficult decision of placing a family member in a residential setting.

My mum has recently moved into The White House from her home. The transition, which happened during the pandemic, wasn’t smooth at the start due to Mum's behaviour but Mum has now settled in nicely. The staff are lovely, caring and friendly I couldn’t find anything wrong and have got to know the staff,
as you see the same ones regularly, so the turnover of staff must be low. They ensure Mum gets what’s she needs with personal care, health, medical needs to enable her to happy. Having the spacious bedroom, lounge, conservatory, pub and garden facilities with the birds, peacocks, fish pond, wallabies etc have made it more interesting and enables different areas to be visited. Throughout the time Mum has been there, I have received regular updates on Mum's health, needs, changes in care and we can ring them when we want updates too. There's a monthly unit newsletter which gives us the information on activities and trips that have happened too. Would recommend The White House to others, if a relative needed care.

My uncle had been a resident at The White House for more than two years. He had settled down very quickly into his new home, mainly due to the relaxed and calm atmosphere of the place and the friendly and very caring staff. The well-designed layout of the home enables the residents to wander at will
but still be able to find their way back to their own family unit, although my uncle is now very restricted in his ability to move around. When he was more mobile and cognitive he really enjoyed access to the garden areas with plenty of space to wander and sit, and spend time looking at the many birds and animals that live within the grounds. The residents also enjoy very good, freshly prepared food, and endless cups of tea, coffee and biscuits. The staff go out of their way to provide for individual needs. And for any celebration, the homemade cakes are superb. During the current pandemic, families have been kept well informed as to how life has changed for the residents.

The White House has been caring for my mum for a number of years now, they are an amazing team and we couldn't ask for more. It is so nice that a number of the carers have been looking after Mum for a long time. They are always so kind and caring and keep us informed regularly of how Mum is. It has
been extra hard living abroad the last couple of years but they have made sure I have had FaceTime calls, despite how difficult it has been for them which has been very reassuring. I would definitely recommend the White House and am so grateful for everything they do.

I am delighted with the care my husband receives. He is treated with respect and dignity and his concerns are addressed with patience and courtesy. I am also very pleased with the way that my family and I are warmly welcomed when we visit him. I have got to know several carers during the three years
that my husband has been in the home and all of them are polite and caring. The staff have had so much to do in the last two years, with Covid testing, PPE etc - it must have been very hard for them - and it is all done with patience and goodwill. It is hard to see someone you care for gradually decline and I am extremely grateful for the support I receive from the White House staff.

My husband has been at The White House for nearly two years. It’s always a difficult decision to go down this route but I was really struggling to care for him adequately.
The White House management and care staff have been marvellous in carrying out their caring duties, and I speak as one who volunteered
in a nursing home for eleven years and had need of a home for my father.
During the current pandemic, families have been kept well informed as to how life has changed for the residents and we are able to Skype, telephone, deliver gifts to the front door and have a “window visit” and the precautions put in place have meant that the home is COVID-free.
My husband’s room is bright, spacious, en-suite and is part of a unit which runs as a family unit with its own dining room and lounge. Food is freshly cooked and delicious.
Activities are varied, stretching the residents’ abilities as far as possible and the outside garden space with all its varied menagerie of animals is stimulation.

I cannot fault the care given to my Mum. She is happy, well fed, clean and fragrant, and nothing is too much trouble for the carers.


The staff "turnover" is very low, so Mum always sees familiar faces. The same dedicated team of carers know Mum well, and she is much-loved by them. These wonderful

people have cared for her for some time, and there is always a nice "family" atmosphere.

My wife has been very difficult and aggressive at times recently. The staff have been excellent in calming her and ensuring her safety. I consider my son is very well looked after. The home appears to be very selective with the employment of staff as every one of them is very helpful and polite. Nothing seems to be any trouble to them when problems (like incontinence etc) arise. Problems are attended to straight away and in a pleasing
manner. I do not think my son could be in a better place considering his illness.

My mother has been a resident at The White House for over 3 years. Prior to this, she was a resident at 2 other care homes for just under a year in each.
Mum has advanced dementia and can be quite challenging at times. Her previous care homes were ‘unable to meet her needs’, and requested that she
left their establishments. This has never been the case at The White House. Mum has all the care, stimulation and personal attention she needs. The White House staff are fully trained in dementia and other mental conditions and provide care that is fully personalised. Often staff provide 1 on 1 care when it is needed, and this has proved successful for my mother.
My mother is now 93, and she has a quality of life that she deserves and she is happy.
A sincere thank you all at The White House from my mother and me. We are extremely grateful.

My father has been at The White House Curdridge for nine months. His care has been amazing, the staff are all so caring and friendly and have taken wonderful care of him. They are exceptional with dementia residents and treat them with respect, dignity and understanding at every level. The food is
of a high standard and they go the extra mile when it is someone’s birthday with a homemade Birthday cake. My dad sadly passed away this week but I am delighted to say he had been in the best possible care home. May I also say a thank you to all staff in general, the home was always clean and well kept as was Dad’s laundry. It was always so lovely to see him in clean, freshly pressed clothes. The level of care is outstanding and I thank them for the special care shown and given to my lovely Dad.
Aside from the staff, the home and its grounds are beautifully kept giving residents a lovely opportunity to relax and feel at home.

I have always found the staff to have time for all the residents. I watched one member of staff spend 20 minutes trying to get a reluctant individual take a glass of water. People are treated with respect and the utmost done to maintain their dignity. The set up of the facility and outdoor space is
an enabler for keeping residents calm and I am impressed with the contribution of volunteers.
In my career as a GP I have been in many care facilities this is the best.

Just had to write a review on behalf of our family, to thank you all sincerely for the amazing quality of care, compassion and love you gave to my dear Mum, who sadly passed away last week. She was with you for nearly six and a half years and during the whole time, all the carers and managers combined
to make her stay, safe, comfortable and as enjoyable as possible for anyone suffering from this insidious illness.
As a family, we all came to love and respect all the carers and it was so moving to know how she was regarded as one of the WH ‘family’ and to receive so many hugs and outpourings of affection after she passed.
Thank you so much for your amazingly professional yet compassionate care. You are a great team and we will miss you as you miss Mum.

Julie created The White House in 1983 and has worked hard to consistently improve facilities over the years. The result a well-run specialist Dementia Care facility with a dedicated caring team of long-standing staff.


Her daughter Emma Hampton is the registered Manager and her son Manages the garden and maintenance.

Emma is the daughter of Julie the Managing Director and was 7 years old when The White House was created. She was brought up living at The White House so it was her home as well.


Emma is a committed Manager with always the best interests of her staff team and the residents who live with us. She has managed to gain two consecutive outstanding Inspection results which is a credit to her and her team.

Neil is Julie’s son who, like Emma, lived at The White House as a child. Having had a career in the Royal Air Force am now back looking after building projects, gardening and maintenance. Ensuring The White House remains safe, secure and well-maintained both inside and out.
