Wisteria Lodge is a family owned, happy care home providing nursing for the discerning elderly in Horndean, Waterlooville.

A recent innovative extension provides beautifully well-appointed rooms with en-suite wet rooms.

A hydrotherapy bath with mood lighting and aromatherapy has added a touch of luxury together with the salon which offers complimentary holistic therapies to soothe the body and soul.

Manager Jane, a finalist in the National Care Awards is supported by carefully selected Nurses and Healthcare Assistants to provide a real 'home from home.'

Staff are trained to support residents in living active lifestyles and maintaining their individual abilities, treasuring life memories and experiences.

The care, respect and love that is evident in Wisteria Lodge are fantastic. I am so grateful to them for the care of my wife that if at any stage in my life I need a care home I will have no hesitation in living the rest of my life in their care.

My Mum enjoyed 28 months of excellent care at Wisteria Lodge. The home is small, very friendly and fixtures and furnishings to a very high standard. What makes Wisteria Lodge such a special place is the staff, many of whom have worked there for a long time. As we were visiting daily it became our second
home and got to know everyone, from the manager, nurses to the catering staff. My Mum was treated with kindness, dignity, compassion and care and we could not have asked for better as she ended her life there in December. We would recommend Wisteria Lodge with our hesitation and if you are reading this and considering it for a loved one you would have made a very good choice.

My mother has been at Wisteria Lodge for five months.
Her needs are more than met by all the staff employed.
The bedroom ensuite is kept well decorated, maintained, clean and tidy with extra care to little details, e.g. watering flowers and plants, placing cushions and ornaments in reach or sight
of Mum.
Mum's personal care is excellent. Catering and activities are good and cater to individual needs. Caretaker and cleaning, laundry and management are always on hand and chat to residents as they work.

Mum spent the last 3 months of her life at Wisteria Lodge and we couldn't have chosen a better place for her. Her newly decorated ensuite room was clean, bright and airy, as did all the rooms appear to be. The care and attention given were excellent and the staff were ALL brilliant, so caring and patient
with mum and friendly to all visitors, always offered refreshments. The food always looked and smelled delicious. Attractive decking area and lounges available for those able to get around. A wide range of activities offered if desired. Lots of staff available for the resident's needs. I really thank them all.

Lovely home, constantly updated for the comfort of residents.

Mum moved to Wisteria in Dec 2014, after a stroke, with severe cognitive and mobility issues but their excellent care, friendliness, and inclusiveness of the hands on activities and entertainment programmes brought her back out of her shell. Mum really enjoyed her time there, and we were always happy
she was safe and well cared for. Following a further stroke 3 years later, she returned from the hospital for end of life care and was treated with the dignity and respect she deserved until she passed away just before Christmas.


Her room was paid for the month so we, understandably, left its clearance until after the holiday. Wisteria didn't clearly inform us of the contract clause stating the extra week's charge after clearance for making good, and we were presented with an unexpected week's bill that could have been avoided. A single day's charge was deducted in apology, leaving us with 6 days costs and a bitter aftertaste to what should have been a lovely memory of Mum's last few years.

We were very impressed with the home after receiving many recommendations from friends. The staff were outstanding in their care of our loved one. They got to know our loved one really well and catered to his every wish. If he wanted anything they would get it for him - usually vanilla ice cream or
lemonade. We are so grateful to the staff for making our loved one feel loved and supported during our loved ones stay at Wisteria Lodge. Outstanding.

I and my family are very satisfied and happy with the service mum receives. She is treated so well and with great care. The staff are always welcoming and helpful with any requests or needs either by mum herself or by her family.


I feel that she is in a safe and protected environment and that I can

Cannot fault the care/support mum has received. All staff, without exception, are very caring and attentive. All visitors are made to feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble.

My wife came into the home for end of life care. She could not have received better care or more love during this difficult time. The managers, carers and nurses are clearly very skilled and have a wonderful positivity and caring nature to both residents and visitors. The lodge has everything a resident
would want, lovely carers and the feel of your own home.

My mother was a resident for 8 months. When she first arrived her self-esteem was very low. With staff encouragement, she found she could do small but to her significant things like using a cup and saucer. After around 2 months, her somewhat sarcastic sense humour had returned and she gossiped with
the staff who were willing to chat. She was laughing and joining in events at Wisteria Lodge. Her general health improved. At all times the staff were very warm and welcoming to the family including very young grandchildren.
Unfortunately, ill health did strike quite suddenly and the staff supported her and the whole family . Thank you Wisteria lodge.

I think Wisteria Lodge is absolutely marvellous. It feels like one big family, all the staff are so kind and caring, and make me and my sister so welcome when we visit. Mum has Alzheimer's and can become quite agitated, but they are so calm and good with her, and I am so relieved that I can rely on
them and trust them to look after her. The events ladies are tireless in finding activities to keep the residents happy and busy. The food is as good as you would make yourself at home, and we enjoy eating there with Mum on occasion. The rooms are all spotlessly clean, and the whole building smells clean and fresh. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

My auntie was a resident at Wisteria Lodge for almost five years. It's painful to see someone you love go into a home but she was always treated with love and respect. I felt it made a big difference having registered mental nurses employed at the home as they have a greater understanding of people
with dementia. My aunty sadly passed away last month but she was looked after well, it eased the pain of losing her. The night nurses took care of my mum and myself.

Wisteria is very 'home from home' and has a calm, peaceful aura about it. As a family we are so pleased that our Mum spent her last few months with those guys looking after her and they did a fantastic job. They are truly caring and know what they are doing. We thank them so much for everything they
did. If you are looking for a nursing home I can't recommend this one enough.
