Woodlands House is a truly elegant residential home set in its own extensive grounds and beautifully landscaped gardens, located in the rural village of Woodlands which nestles in the peace and tranquillity of the New Forest. The home has been sympathetically extended, retaining all of its original features to provide a safe, appealing and comfortable home for its residents.

The fully trained, compassionate and caring team has created an exceptional residential care home, who ensure residents are not only safe and well cared for, but are also happy and contented. With a full schedule of activities, entertainment and outings to cater to everyone’s taste, residents can live their lives as independently and positively as possible.

Woodlands House is steeped in period charm, yet filled with modern facilities and a warm and compassionate environment. The secluded grounds and easy access gardens provide great scope for numerous enjoyable activities or a space where residents can sit, relax and watch the world go by. Each of the 38 en-suite bedrooms is generously proportioned, newly decorated and fully furnished, complete with a flat-screen digital TV, telephone point and 24-hour call bell. The grand hallway, spacious lounge, relaxing library and bright dining room provide a variety of communal spaces to create the perfect family home.

Residents also benefit from inclusive homemade meals, inclusive laundry service and video calling to stay in touch with friends and family.

Mum came to Woodlands House for 4 weeks respite care. Due to the welcome & support she has received she has flourished and decided to stay. Mum is very sociable having made lots of friends and loves to join in with the many activities provided. Woodlands House is definitely a warm, caring and friendly

Mum has been a resident in Woodlands House now for over seven years. She continues to be very well looked after with staff very attentive to her needs. The environment is warm, clean and friendly. Meals offer a good variety and residents gather in a bright dining room for their main meals.

My mother has been a resident at Woodlands House for nearly a year now and is very happy and content. She is looked after with great care and kindness by all of the staff.
She has made friends with some of the other residents and is always smiling when I go to see her each week. She loves to join in

My mother has been living at Woodlands since August 2022 and has been cared for with such respect and dignity. The staff are simply brilliant, friendly, kind and supportive in equal measure. Nothing was ever too much trouble even when mum was a bit grumpy! She passed away peacefully on Friday the 2nd
of February with us by her side. Many staff popped their heads round the door to say goodbye to her which I found so comforting. They really cared! We were so supported by all the staff during this sad time. As Mum used to say to me 'They are all so kind to me here' speaks volumes.

Greeted at the door by one of the friendly staff and lunch had just finished. The large computer screen had been set up for Mum to play a few games of solitaire (cards) before going back up to her room. The staff are always very friendly and helpful every time I visit.

Mum has now resided at Woodlands House for the past 2+ years. She went there in August 2021 for 2-week respite and never left. She is loving it there as she has made friends, the staff are very friendly and there are activities for the residents both morning and evening. Mum's mobility has deteriorated
rapidly, but nothing is too much trouble for the staff and their patience is outstanding. She celebrates her 99th birthday in October and I know that she will be spoilt rotten! A big thank you to all the staff at Woodlands House.

I really appreciate the open access to come and visit my mother, and it is consistently evident that there is an active, social and homely environment in place, with the opportunity for my mother to be involved and helpful around the building, staff and fellow residents. The house and grounds are well
maintained and peaceful, which also makes visiting and walking within the grounds a very pleasant experience. All this has vastly improved her mood and quality of life while coping with the inevitable decline that Dementia brings, and the wide range of activities and the exemplary support of the care staff gives me total confidence that she is as fulfilled as she possibly can be in these declining years after a lifetime of care and support for others.

My mother has been at Woodlands for over 5 years now and whilst her physical condition and mental capacity have gradually deteriorated, she has continued to be well looked after. There is a full activities programme for those who want to participate and the grounds are beautiful all year round for those
that want to enjoy some fresh air and go for a walk.


The staff are welcoming, friendly, patient and willing to spend time with the residents and understand their needs. I have the confidence that my mother is as safe and secure as possible.

My mother has been a resident since April 2023 and has been tricky to settle but the patience and care shown by all the lovely staff at Woodlands has been exemplary. Even when we thought they might give up they stayed firm and so reassuring. I would recommend this lovely care home to anyone. Also, my
mother-in-law is there and is very happy and content. The house and grounds are very nice and the catering very good. The family day they organised was brilliant fun and the entertainers they had doing music and singing is really good and enjoyed by all.

Mum was 96 when she arrived at Woodlands House Care Home, it was sad for her to lose her independence at such an old age but thanks to the staff and set-up, she soon adjusted to her new surroundings. There is always something "going on" and like-minded people to chat to. Woodlands staff have always
been so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Mum has never had a bad word to say and she looks forward to her food, the quiz and day trips out. Thank you Woodlands.

Woodlands House is clean, bright and airy. The staff are cheerful and friendly and the residents all seem to be content and well cared for. Entertainment, activities and outings are regularly organised. My husband was there for a week's respite and is now a day resident twice a week.

After over two years of my looking after my partner, the family decided that the time had come for her to have professional care. We were so pleased that we were recommended to visit Woodlands House Care Home. It is such a lovely, well-maintained building with exceptional grounds. When the pharmacy
lady learned of our choice she said we could not have chosen better.
Everyone at Woodlands House, from the CEO to the maintenance man and young tea lady, shows so much consideration to all residents. The staff "at the sharp end", as one, all demonstrate dedication, tenderness and understanding. Congratulations to them all and thank you.

Hi, my name is Katie and I have had the privilege of working in a variety of care settings for the past 16 years. For 11 of these wonderful years, I have been working for the fantastically supportive company - Hartford Care. Our amazing staff work tirelessly to ensure our residents get the very best care they deserve, ensuring everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

During my time working in the care sector, I have undergone a variety of courses to widen my knowledge, including my NVQ level 5 in leadership and management.

I aim to ensure all residents enjoy their time whilst living in our care homes, and that their relatives feel comfortable and welcome to visit their loved ones. I endeavour to help my staff to feel empowered and supported; to build on their experiences and to learn to think outside of the box.


I pride myself on leading by example and going the extra mile to ensure the residents' needs are always put first.


In my spare time, I like to support my local community and volunteer for the local food bank.

I joined the Hartford Care family in December 2018 as a Care Assistant at West Cliff Hall. I transferred to Woodlands House in September 2021 as a Senior Care Assistant and was quickly promoted to my current position of Deputy Manager.
