Woodlands House is a truly elegant residential home set in its own extensive grounds and beautifully landscaped gardens, located in the rural village of Woodlands which nestles in the peace and tranquillity of the New Forest. The home has been sympathetically extended, retaining all of its original features to provide a safe, appealing and comfortable home for its residents.

The fully trained, compassionate and caring team has created an exceptional residential care home, who ensure residents are not only safe and well cared for, but are also happy and contented. With a full schedule of activities, entertainment and outings to cater to everyone’s taste, residents can live their lives as independently and positively as possible.

Woodlands House is steeped in period charm, yet filled with modern facilities and a warm and compassionate environment. The secluded grounds and easy access gardens provide great scope for numerous enjoyable activities or a space where residents can sit, relax and watch the world go by. Each of the 38 en-suite bedrooms is generously proportioned, newly decorated and fully furnished, complete with a flat-screen digital TV, telephone point and 24-hour call bell. The grand hallway, spacious lounge, relaxing library and bright dining room provide a variety of communal spaces to create the perfect family home.

Residents also benefit from inclusive homemade meals, inclusive laundry service and video calling to stay in touch with friends and family.

Woodlands House holds Beacon status, the highest award in the 'National Gold Standard Framework' for End of Life care.

My mother has now been at Woodlands for four years and in my opinion, the staff there are exceptional. They are caring, treat the residents with dignity, kindness and nothing is too much bother. My family and I are always welcomed so warmly by the staff as well, it truly is a home from home.

Skype call to the wrong person. The wrong number dialled and my 92-year-old Mother simply left with the Ipad ringing. Called the home to request the call be stopped and redirected but the carer said 'it is not my job, you need to talk to someone else.' I explained the issue and asked her to sort it
but she simply repeated herself. The end result is my Mother missing out on her weekly call. Issues with missed Skype calls are a common factor. The carers seem to be spread too thinly to be able to provide this simple link with the outside world. Continual issues with hearing aids and delays in sorting replacements leaving her unable to hear most of the time on Skype, in spite of continual requests for help.

Woodlands has been outstanding in helping my lovely Dad settle in his new environment. The level of care and individual professionalism has been truly wonderful. From the first day my Dad moved to Woodlands, the team has gone above and beyond our expectations in ensuring his individual needs and requirements
were met. The whole team have shown extraordinary love and empathy and have gone above and beyond in their efforts to help Dad settle. A particular mention and thank you to three particular members of staff.

The staff and management at Woodlands have managed the COVID crisis wonderfully. Communication has been regular and clear and they have done everything possible to allow residents to still have visitors. The Facebook page has been a really great way to see all the fun and inspired activities that they
have managed to run over lockdown. I feel so fortunate that my mother-in-law has been at Woodlands during this difficult period when so many people have had such negative experiences with other care homes. The staff are endlessly kind and friendly and it is heartwarming to see them enjoying activities with the residents. Could not recommend it highly enough.

My mum moved into Woodlands House in July this year. It was a very upsetting time for all our family, as we knew that we would not be able to see Mum every day as we had for months, due to Coronavirus. From the day we came to visit Woodlands to discuss Mum moving in, we knew it was the right place for
her. Everyone has been so caring, friendly and supportive to us and any concerns we may have, the team are more than happy to discuss and reassure us that Mum is OK. Despite Covid restrictions, we are able to keep in contact with Mum via telephone calls, skype and one family member is allowed a conservatory visit once a week. I do admit this is very hard on the rest of the family, not being able to see Mum but we understand and appreciate that the residents' Health and Safety is paramount. We receive a weekly rota of all the activities the residents are doing which is fantastic.

I'm so impressed with all the measures taken to keep Covid 19 out of Woodlands. They are so comprehensive.
I'm also grateful to the staff going to work each day and coping with all the problems lockdown must entail. Anxious, confused residents
who are missing their families.
Thank you for frequent updates and reassurance and arranging video calls.
I think you have all gone more than the second mile at this very stressful time.

My uncle is a permanent resident and has been in a care home since December 2019. Since the virus came to be, the care my uncle has received has been the tops. Getting updates on the care and the way the staff have been brilliant. I don't know all the carers names but thanks to the manager, his mains
carers and all the others.

The staff and facilities at Woodlands House are excellent. Families and friends of residents are made to feel very welcome and are invited to events and celebrations throughout the year. There is a variety of activities offered and trips out in the minibus. One of the highlights is the drama group who
perform plays written by a member of staff who is mindful of abilities and knows the residents well.

My mum has been at Woodlands House for 9 months now and I can honestly not fault the staff for their care, help and understanding to my mum. It’s always a difficult time making the right decision for your loved ones but from day one, the staff have made my mum feel welcome and at home. Also, the other
residents are a credit to Woodlands as they are happy and friendly. The activity staff are also fantastic, so many great ideas and they always go that extra mile with entertainment, no matter what time of the year it is. The grounds and the surrounding area are beautiful too - perfect for an afternoon stroll. Overall 10/10 - Excellent!

My mother-in-law has a lovely room in a home that is beautifully decorated and kept very clean. The staff are wonderfully caring and there are plenty of activities to participate in should she choose to do so. The large gardens are beautifully kept. The staff are always helpful and welcoming and nothing
is too much trouble. We have regular relatives meetings and can discuss any issue. We have got to know other residents and their families creating a great family atmosphere. We are very pleased with our choice of care home for Mum.

Hi, my name is Katie and I have had the privilege of working in a variety of care settings for the past 16 years. For 11 of these wonderful years, I have been working for the fantastically supportive company - Hartford Care. Our amazing staff work tirelessly to ensure our residents get the very best care they deserve, ensuring everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

During my time working in the care sector, I have undergone a variety of courses to widen my knowledge, including my NVQ level 5 in leadership and management.

I aim to ensure all residents enjoy their time whilst living in our care homes, and that their relatives feel comfortable and welcome to visit their loved ones. I endeavour to help my staff to feel empowered and supported; to build on their experiences and to learn to think outside of the box.


I pride myself on leading by example and going the extra mile to ensure the residents' needs are always put first.


In my spare time, I like to support my local community and volunteer for the local food bank.

I joined the Hartford Care family in December 2018 as a Care Assistant at West Cliff Hall. I transferred to Woodlands House in September 2021 as a Senior Care Assistant and was quickly promoted to my current position of Deputy Manager.
