Woodlands House is a truly elegant residential home set in its own extensive grounds and beautifully landscaped gardens, located in the rural village of Woodlands which nestles in the peace and tranquillity of the New Forest. The home has been sympathetically extended, retaining all of its original features to provide a safe, appealing and comfortable home for its residents.

The fully trained, compassionate and caring team has created an exceptional residential care home, who ensure residents are not only safe and well cared for, but are also happy and contented. With a full schedule of activities, entertainment and outings to cater to everyone’s taste, residents can live their lives as independently and positively as possible.

Woodlands House is steeped in period charm, yet filled with modern facilities and a warm and compassionate environment. The secluded grounds and easy access gardens provide great scope for numerous enjoyable activities or a space where residents can sit, relax and watch the world go by. Each of the 38 en-suite bedrooms is generously proportioned, newly decorated and fully furnished, complete with a flat-screen digital TV, telephone point and 24-hour call bell. The grand hallway, spacious lounge, relaxing library and bright dining room provide a variety of communal spaces to create the perfect family home.

Residents also benefit from inclusive homemade meals, inclusive laundry service and video calling to stay in touch with friends and family.

Woodlands House holds Beacon status, the highest award in the 'National Gold Standard Framework' for End of Life care.

I am staying her while my son was away for a trial period, with the possibility of becoming a resident, so to be closer to my family.
I have a very nice large bedroom with plenty of sunshine and fresh air.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful.
Time does sometimes hang heavy, I try and keep
busy by knitting and sewing and walking in the garden.

Very well run establishment with extremely likeable staff. The building is currently being refurbished and expanded. Lovely gardens and location. I would like to emphasise that the staff are excellent in all areas.

I have stayed at Woodlands House four or five times now and enjoy my stay every time. All the staff are lovely, I have new friends here and I always have a good time.
The food is lovely and tasty and the rooms are just great overlooking the forest, you even get to see the horses and cows from the
windows.
The staff are so kind and smiley, they're like a family from home when I visit. It's cosy and warm and so homely.

My mother-in-law came to live at Woodlands House in July 2015.
Having looked at CQC reports for care homes locally, we chose to look around Woodlands House as it sounded just the place.
We loved the setting, the grounds are beautiful and were made very welcome by the care manager. We discussed my
mother-in-law's needs, things she liked and disliked, what kind of person she was and we were then given a full tour of the house.
On our visit, all the staff were very kind and friendly.
It is a lovely house, very clean and homely.
When first visiting, my mother-in-law loved it, and subsequently, she kept saying how much she loved it throughout her time there.
One of the things I particularly liked was all the various activities they have there for the residents.
As my mother-in-law deteriorated and needed the extra care, everything she needed for her comfort and wellbeing was done for her right until her passing.
The staff were excellent throughout my mother-in-law's time there.

Very good at looking after. The staff are excellent in their caring.
The food is very variable and satisfying. We do get variations in sandwiches for supper and can have something other than what is on the menu.

It is very nice, plenty of staff to look after you, it is cosy and warm here which is nice, my room is nice and the forest overlooking is lovely, the deers come out. I am a vegetarian so I probably miss out of the nice roasts but I still have a vegetarian roast so they cater for my needs and likes.
I enjoy the birds pecking at my window.

My mother lived at Woodlands for nearly 7 yeas. Finding the right care home for a loved one is probably the hardest thing you ever do in life. As soon as I saw Woodlands and met the staff I knew that it was the right place. It is a care home with a big C. The management and care team looked after my
Mum in a way that I could never have done. They are respectful, considerate, thoughtful and most of all good fun! Towards the end of my mother's life they stepped up the care, allowed me to sleep in the room with my Mum and helped us both through a very difficult time. I could not recommend Woodlands enough.

Katie Dixon

Hi, my name is Katie and I have had the privilege of working in a variety of care settings for the past 16 years. For 11 of these wonderful years, I have been working for the fantastically supportive company - Hartford Care. Our amazing staff work tirelessly to ensure our residents get the very best care they deserve, ensuring everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

During my time working in the care sector, I have undergone a variety of courses to widen my knowledge, including my NVQ level 5 in leadership and management.

I aim to ensure all residents enjoy their time whilst living in our care homes, and that their relatives feel comfortable and welcome to visit their loved ones. I endeavour to help my staff to feel empowered and supported; to build on their experiences and to learn to think outside of the box.


I pride myself on leading by example and going the extra mile to ensure the residents' needs are always put first.


In my spare time, I like to support my local community and volunteer for the local food bank.


I look forward to getting to know you all and working with you to bring life and laughter to your loved one’s next chapter in their lives.

Hi, I’m Keeley Pitman.


I joined the Hartford Care family in December 2018 as a Care Assistant at West Cliff Hall. I transferred to Woodlands House in September 2021 as a Senior Care Assistant and was quickly promoted to my current position of Deputy Manager.


Hartford care takes pride in promoting within the company and giving staff the skills and knowledge to do so and I thoroughly enjoy working for them. Our team, here at Woodlands, ensures our residents are happy and safe and have meaningful lives.
