Woodlands is a thirty-nine-bedroom residential care home with an excellent reputation in the Fleet community for the consistently high standards of elderly care it achieves. The home was rated as 'Outstanding' by the CQC in 2019.

Trained carers provide 24-hour care and support for the residents, helping to support them in their chosen lifestyle choices and care needs. Residents' dignity and independence are respected at all times. There is a full activities and social programme for residents to participate and enjoy.

Outside, the home has large scenic gardens with a sheltered courtyard in the centre and an active gardening club. Elsewhere, there are level lawns, fish ponds and woodland with its own bluebell glade, all accessible by flat wheelchair friendly paths.

The residents are at the heart of the home, helping the chefs chose the menus and creating the activities programmes with the activities coordinator. Woodlands is a happy home, where the residents' happiness and welfare come first.

The managers and the entire staff are so friendly, kind and caring. I am so pleased that my mother-in-law is being cared for in such a lovely environment. The way they have adapted to the ever-changing conditions brought about by the pandemic has been most impressive. The visiting arrangements have
been cleverly implemented to ensure residents and their family and friends can continue to visit and now meet up. At the same time, there are well planned and executed arrangements to ensure the residents and staff are protected from the Coronavirus.

My mum has been at Woodlands Residential Care Home for the last year. The staff are giving Mum excellent care, especially through Covid. I was so pleased last week to be able to visit Mum inside the care home and finally being able to hold Mum's hand after a year of lockdown, it was wonderful. I very
much look forward to my next visit. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Woodlands.

My father is a long term resident of Woodlands and I cannot thank the staff enough for giving him such amazing care while he has been there. Every day he has been there he has been treated with dignity, patience and understanding. I am kept constantly informed of the trips, fun and games he participated
in and seeing him so happy in his final years has given his family a great sense of comfort and relief that he is in safe hands. I cannot praise the staff enough and indeed the whole management of the residential home, they keep a high standard at all times and put the residents first. It was really hard to find a place my father would be able to call home but we did. Thank You.

My mum is in Woodlands and has been for 2 years. There are no words to describe our gratitude to the staff there for their love and care for our mum. They are incredible human beings. During COVID their first thought is for the residents who they call family. They understand that as families we miss
them but do everything possible to keep us updated through FaceTime, weekly updates and pictures. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. They really are outstanding.

It was my mother’s own choice to go into Woodlands and she never looked back. The care, the food and the friendliness of the staff is outstanding. The efforts that they have gone to to provide fun and entertaining activities during lockdown are amazing.
Very sadly my mum passed away at the end of October.
Everything was made so much more bearable by the fantastic kindness and support from all the staff for her and myself as I live so far away. They really are like family. After a short stay in hospital all my mum wanted was to go 'home' back to Woodlands.
I would recommend Woodlands without any hesitation.

Woodlands is a great place for my Mum. She always feels cared for as all the staff treat her like family as they do with all the residents. It is a very welcoming and friendly environment with a full activity programme each day to keep everyone active physically and mentally. My Mum is regularly saying
how good the food is and the more than ample portions. On top of the activities, there is a beautiful garden, regular visits from a hairdresser, physiotherapist and local Doctor. The management and staff have been fantastic in the current situation. Applying common sense from their medical experience to keep the residents and staff safe.

My father-in-law joined the residents at Woodlands this year after his wife passed away. We visited many of the homes in this area and Woodlands felt the most homely and welcoming. Lots of the residents were up and about and the staff seemed very attentive and caring. It has been a really difficult
time for everyone with the Covid19 outbreak but the staff have done an amazing job in keeping the residents safe and well and there is always plenty going on to keep them occupied. We can't praise Woodlands highly enough. When we asked my father-in-law what were the main things he liked about Woodlands he said the staff are brilliant, he likes his room but also being able to spend time in the lounge and the food is very good. The staff work really hard to keep everybody happy and they go out of their way to arrange FaceTime calls and safe visits in a new gazebo in the garden which has comfy seats and heating.

My mum has been a resident at Woodlands for some 5 1/2 years now and in that time I have not seen anything of concern to me whatsoever. The staff are always polite and attentive. I am however unhappy that my mum, as a self-funder, does not get the more favourable rates that council/government residents
enjoy. I would welcome your comments on this! I thank you all for your continued care of my mum.

Woodlands was my own choice of care home to be a resident and it was the best choice I have made, ever. I was impressed with the welcome and treatment I received but the care and support I have received in the last month has been outstanding. Particularly as my only daughter lives in France and there
is no opportunity to communicate, they arranged for me to FaceTime with my daughter.

I think the management and staff of Woodlands have done a sterling job of keeping the residents safe from COVID so far, whilst ensuring the families are kept informed and connected. Staff have gone the extra mile to enable video calling and it is much appreciated. The socially distanced meetups under
the gazebo are great and I hope they continue.

Dad is looked after very well. All of the staff are very friendly and attentive. He gets all the support he needs. The home is always very clean and warm and feels "homely". The staff always keep me informed of what is happening particularly in relation to dads health and well-being.

Before taking up a place, we visited quite a few homes and, though some were good, only Woodlands offered the combination of homeliness, companionship and high standard of care that we were looking for. My mother loved flowers and trees so the view from her room was perfect for her though she wasn’t
able to actually spend time in the gardens. We were impressed by the standard of maintenance and how frequently the maintenance team were there making improvements. Residential care for the elderly isn’t cheap but when you stop and think about what is involved, we regarded Woodlands as good value for money. In the period leading up to my mother’s death, the situation was made extremely difficult for all concerned by the Covid lockdown. The staff dealt with it calmly, thoroughly and thoughtfully. We could not have asked for more.

Very happy with the care provided and Mum is happy. The staff are amazing and prepared to talk things through. Nothing is too much trouble. The standard of activities has slipped but there is, I'm pleased to see, a plan in place to address this. I can't stress enough how great the staff are.

My father has been here since April 2018. He has settled in very quickly and always tells me how much he loves being here. The staff are always friendly and helpful and care for my father. I receive regular updates regarding his care plan and GP visits etc.

I left the NHS where I was Ward Manager of an elderly care unit at the Royal Free Hospital when I assumed control of Woodlands & Hill Brow Ltd following my mother's retirement in 1998.


I am immensely proud of the standards of care we achieve and the family ethos and feel which runs through the heart of our homes.
