Welcome to Seaview Residential Home in Southsea, a home close to the sea with a warm welcome and a kind and caring atmosphere.

Seaview is situated virtually on the seafront and has many rooms with great views of the sea. Also Canoe Lake and the local pier are situated within a very short walking distance. Daily outings to the seafront and other local tourist attractions are famous among Seaview residents.

Interested clients are invited to visit any time without an appointment and the team would be delighted to show you around.

The team believe in high standards of care and individual attention to keep residents’ physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs in mind.

All friendly staff at Seaview offer a varied programme of activities, including armchair exercise and therapy.

The local mobile library service visits regularly with a wide selection of large print, fiction, non-fiction and audio books.

A range of visiting professionals adds to the services and facilities they can offer a hairdresser, beautician, chiropodist, optician and a dentist. Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy can also be arranged.

As well as the in-house activities, there are also regular outings to the lake, pier, Kings Theatre and other local places of interest.

In order to fulfil the resident’s spiritual needs, places of worship are a short distance from the home, and clergy of different denominations bring ministry to anyone who feels unable to go to church.

Mum was admitted to Seaview just a few days before lockdown in March 2020. It was a difficult decision to make, but due to her fairly advanced Dementia, she was no longer safe at home.
We need not have worried, the care she received during the lockdown and since has been exceptional.
We were able
to see her in the glass porch through the window occasionally, and this was especially enjoyed on her 97th birthday.
This year for her 98th birthday, we were able to visit in the garden and sit in the garden room, which had recently been added to enable visiting. Visits are becoming more frequent as the rules change, and this is greatly enjoyed by Mum and her family. The effort by all the staff to make these visits safe and within all the guidelines is amazing and so well organised.
The new manager has excelled herself with managing all the COVID rules, alongside running the home to such an exceptional standard.
The staff are all so very kind, patient, cheerful, even when Mum is difficult.

Seaview is a lovely setting, home from home feeling. Staff are amazing and really do go that extra mile for not only residents but family too. My mum is always happy and smiling, and I wouldn't want her anywhere else. I'm so pleased we made the right choice in Mum residing at Seaview.

We had to find a residential care home for my mum in September 2020, and Seaview had been recommended to us. As soon as I walked in and was greeted warmly by several members of staff, all following strict Covid guidelines, I knew this was the right place for Mum. She has received wonderful care, despite
all the difficulties around Covid. The manager has been brilliant at keeping us informed, and within the guidelines and recommendations has always put the welfare of the residents at the forefront of any decisions. We had personal contact with Mum before lots of other homes had allowed visitors. She had a special 90th birthday in April, and Seaview laid on a magnificent treat for her. They had installed a lovely summer house in the garden, and Mum, her three children and partners were able to gather for a small celebration. Seaview had prepared an afternoon tea with an amazing chocolate and strawberry cake, decorations and balloons. Mum was overwhelmed. We can't thank Seaview enough!

I was struggling to find a home for my parents in January 2020. I am so glad I found Seaview. From the start, staff and managers have been careful, thoughtful and attentive to the needs of my mum and dad. Mum passed away in August 2020, and staff were reassuring and gave her such lovely care in her
last days, despite Covid restrictions. Dad is declining but so well cared for. The new manager is building on the ethos of caring and personal attention. It’s never easy seeing your relatives have to give up their independence and recognise they need more support. I am so grateful for the wonderful care Dad receives. Seaview is small enough for him to understand who is who and to have a sense of belonging even as he faces the challenges of dementia. I would recommend the home to anyone. It is not a new building and there are limits to bathing and shower facilities, but this is balanced by the caring staff and attention to individual needs.

My mother has been at Seaview care home for 3 weeks now, and when we first had to take my mother to the home, it was very hard not knowing how she would adjust to being in a care home 24/7 for the first time. She is still adjusting to the different environment, but I can only speak highly of all the
staff and the manager; they are all caring, and if there's anything we need to talk or contact the home about, they are always willing to help in any way they can. All the food is freshly prepared and cooked. I know my mother is eating well as she has put on 4 pounds, and she tells me she enjoys the food at the home.

My mother, who moved into Seaview in June 2020, was the best thing that I could have done for her. She has all her care needs met, her medical needs, and her overall well being needs met. Whenever I call Seaview to either speak to the manager or the care staff, they are all extremely polite, friendly,
helpful and very professional. My mother has the company that she deserves and the excellent care that she receives. The home does everyday activities, all residents and staff get involved. The food is of excellent quality and appears to be a well-balanced diet. The home is always spotless, and the residents always look clean and happy. Seaview has a very warm home from home environment. The manager at Seaview sends regular emails to family to inform them of any changes, how their relative is doing, and with the pandemic, we have been made aware of any new guidance on visiting. The family are always involved, which is excellent. All in all, I would highly recommend Seaview 100%.

The staff are so friendly and kind and always make you feel welcome when visiting, even in these strange times with all the social distancing. Would absolutely recommend Seaview for their care and efforts to get residents engaged in socialising and joining in with fun events organised by the staff currently.

I wrote a review last year when my mother had been in Seaview for three months. Sadly she passed away in September having spent 18 months in this excellent care home. My previous good opinion has improved over this time. The management and all the staff are very caring and supportive of the residents,
relatives and visitors. Because it is a small home the lovely staff are able to give personal attention to each resident and make it feel like their own home. I could not have chosen a better final home for my mother, and I would thoroughly recommend Seaview to potential residents and relatives.

My mother in law has been at this care home for nearly 3 weeks now and I can’t praise the home and staff enough. From the moment I went to view it I felt at ease. It really feels like a home from home. The staff I feel really care not only for the residents but for the family too. Nothing is too much
trouble. Communication is excellent, kept informed by management and staff. If I ever have to go into a care home I hope it will be this one. Well done to all who work there.

My mum suffered with dementia and Parkinsons. I was so glad to have found a care home that delivered such excellent care. My mum was treated with respect, dignity and individualised care by caring wonderful staff that would and did go above and beyond in my mum's care and in her final days.
My mum
felt safe and happy at Seaview and it gave myself and her brother great comfort to know she was looked after so well. As a nurse myself I can honestly say that the home delivers truly exceptional care and never loses sight of the resident or their needs and words cannot fully express how wonderful I feel the staff are at the home.

My review is short but nevertheless relevant and it covers his time at Seaview.
Seaview is a small establishment in what was a family residence in a quiet area of Southsea. It has been and continues to be upgraded where possible, to provide a home for approx eighteen residents in comfortable surroundings.
The staff including management are well motivated and caring, and provide in my mind the essential ingredient, still the feeling of what it was once " a family home". Functions at the home are designed for residents and relations alike, which again creates a family atmosphere. "Visitors are always welcome".

My mother in law was admitted to Seaview on 21st December 2016 following a prior visit by my wife and myself to assess suitability. From the moment we walked in, Seaview screams at you "this is it" from the superb manager to the equally superb staff, beautiful rooms, facilities etc, not to mention freshly
prepared food, it's like a hotel more so than a residential care home. Sadly it was an all too short experience for my mother in law, who passed away on 3rd April 2017 but in the time she was there she was cared and catered for in every possible way. In her 95th year, I'm sure Seaview made her final months as enjoyable as possible. I have already booked a place there for myself in years to come!
