Brookvale House is a 35-bed care home registered for persons who do not require nursing care. 22 rooms have a WC ensuite, with the remaining 13 rooms having a sink in the room. Each bedroom has individually controlled heating and access to television points.

The home has benefited from the creation of additional lounge areas that allow residents to spend time in a variety of social and quiet areas. It also allows areas of privacy outside of a resident’s bedroom where they can have a nice quiet conversation over tea with their visitors. Furthermore, Brookvale House has bespoke facilities spanning over two floors, and a beautiful garden for relaxation.

I think this is an amazing home. There is so much room for Dad to move about. There are lots of activities to join in with if he wants or quiet places to go if not. The garden is lovely it's so once to have an outside space to sit in. I love the way that I don't have to make an appointment to come in,
so I can come in whenever I want. Dad is so well looked after and has access to a dentist, hairdresser and podiatrist.

Brookvale House is a great find. The residents are obviously cared for and by a devoted team of delightful mixed personalities. Entertainment is clearly recognised as key here, an enormous task driven by a formidable personality, confident and well-planned. There are always going to be issues to address,
bibs at meal times would save on laundry and residents' clothing and lessen the shock to afternoon visitors. Wiping tables. More thought/training on blind care, especially socially. Maybe a buddy system for them might help, another resident perhaps.

My wife has never been in a residential care home and I was concerned how she would settle in. I need not have worried, the staff have been excellent and she has settled in, is happy and seems to enjoy the company of other residents. Plenty of events see has improved since being in Brookvale House,
staff can't do enough for her.

Cannot thank you all enough for the care given to my husband. He always looked very well cared for and was content. All the staff were helpful, friendly and polite. There was a very good atmosphere and full marks for the security. I cannot comment on activities as he could not participate but I did
see other residents happily doing so. I would definitely recommend Brookvale House as an excellent care home.

A difficult time for us as a close family. The decision to place mum in care was made easier with a caring assessment and placement. Brookvale is the right place for my mum's Alzheimer's, wondering and nervous; she has settled well.

I always find the staff caring and helpful. The quality I look for, is that the staff actually care about the residents at the home. Relatives can easily talk to staff about any concerns they may be worrying about. The management have worked hard to improve and update the lounges, bathrooms, new curtains
and chairs, bedrooms being clean and tidy. The garden looks lovely in the summer months. The residents have a variety of table activities, along with armchair exercises and lots of happy singing. Entertainers get everyone singing, before the tea and cake arrive.
