St Katherine Care Home is a family owned concern committed to providing high levels of care to older persons. The welfare of residents is assured by the skilled team of committed carers, combined with professional expertise, complemented by a pleasant and friendly attitude, under the leadership of the qualified Registered Manager with over 15 years’ worth of experience.

The home is conveniently situated in Bitterne Park, Southampton, close to local amenities within the Bitterne Park Triangle and a short walk from Riverside Park. It is a short journey away from Southampton’s city centre.

The home completed a large scale extension in December 2021, adding a collection of 8 tastefully designed luxury en-suite bedrooms with HD-ready SMART televisions in each bedroom. In addition, the original property underwent a significant refurbishment, including the addition of a brand new 8 passenger lift, making the entire home wheelchair accessible with ease. The extension brings the total number of bedrooms to 24. All rooms have individually controlled heating and in-room hand-washing facilities. 12 of the rooms also have en-suite facilities. All rooms have TV points enabling residents to watch TV in the comfort of their own room. The home has a large, spacious and airy central lounge and dining room. To the rear of the property is a large garden and patio area, which is accessible to all residents.

Mum has been under this company's care for many years. They have catered to all her various needs keeping her well and content considering her severe mental health history. I would also like to say a big thank you to the manager and all the staff who look after her especially during this Covid pandemic.

I am very happy with St Katherine’s Care Home, the staff are always friendly and helpful and the care home is always very clean. The staff are always attentive when someone is ill. The care home is extremely well run by the manager and I also like the two owners. I know my friend gets low at times and
so does everyone in these very strange times and I think he forgets we have the virus. Thank you so much for all your help with him and I hope this virus will be resolved very soon.

Our mother was a resident of St Katherines for a number of years up until her death this month. We could not have asked for better care and kindness from the staff. In spite of the difficulties that come with dementia and Alzheimers, we only ever saw the residents being treated with gentleness, respect
and humanity. The staff were able to ensure that the residents had quality of life. Our mother's autonomy was always considered: even on the days she wanted to stay in bed all day they would skilfully coax and try to persuade her to go downstairs rather than insisting that she did. We experienced (sometimes heroic) patience, skill, professionalism and good-humour (of both types!) from the caring people who run and work at the home. Early and successful steps were taken to try to prevent Covid-19, and we will always be so grateful for the wonderful care she received.
