Visiting a relative and seeing how he has fitted into the care home life, sitting in the garden on a sunny day made is special for both of us. The care and devotions of the staff makes life for residents happy and comfortable.

This care home is amazing. The staff, whether they be the office staff or the carers are incredible. They care for the residents as if they were their own family. It must have been incredibly hard and worrying for them all during the pandemic, but no, they took all appropriate measures to keep themselves
and the residents safe, as if it wasn't happening at all. The residents didn't know there was a pandemic. We can't thank them enough, they all deserve so much thanks from the whole country for their love, care and dedication.

Mum came to Ashwood direct from the hospital and found it difficult to settle and first. All the staff have been very caring and helped her adapt to the new routine. Mum is now very happy at Ashwood and gets on really well with the staff, which is a comfort to the family.

Our family is very happy with the care our mother receives at Ashwood. The carers are very friendly and attentive; Mum sings their praises. Perhaps a very important thing to my mum is food, luckily the food at Ashwood is very good.

My aunt arrived at Ashwood after a three week stay in hospital. She was very confused, agitated and previously uncooperative. She was moved to Ashwood late June 2020 and had a dangerously low body weight. At all times when I telephoned all the staff knew my aunt and were able to give me updates on
her health and state of mind. I live in France and my first point of contact explained that I could do a video call with my aunt via two portals at the home. This has been invaluable as I have been able to see and speak to my aunt frequently. In my aunt's own words, the staff are lovely and the food is great. She has her favourite newspaper delivered daily, and despite her dementia clearly feels at ease and "at home ". Special thanks to and all the team who have helped settle my aunt in. All staff and brilliant, responsive and caring and I feel my aunt is living in a homely environment and Rosie the house cat just clinched it for my aunt.

All I can say is that since my Mum went to stay at Ashwood Care Home in Ware she has improved far beyond what I could have imagined a year ago.
Mum went there from a previous home in a very agitated and confused state of mind, but within a few days had settled in very well.
I can't fault anyone that
works there, their care and attention to each resident as an individual is lovely. I not only enjoy seeing my Mum but also having a good chat with many of the residents as well.
I can ask as many questions as I like to the staff and nothing is too much trouble.
Although I can't visit at the moment I do not have any concerns that Mum is in very safe hands.
It's one of the hardest decisions to put a parent with Alzheimer's disease into residential care, but now My Mum is in Ashwood I have a good night's sleep knowing that she is safe and very well looked after and best of all, Mum smiles all the time now.

My Aunt was Referred to this home via Herts County Council Social Services and we were advised that we should visit while she was fully assessed before becoming a permanent resident. Having been to many Homes to visit other friends and relatives it was like a breath of fresh air to enter this home due
to its calm, peaceful, clean, fresh light and well-presented atmosphere. The staff were immediately friendly and approachable and my Aunt although a little confused at first having come directly from Hospital was comfortable and mixing well with the other residents. Having smaller communal areas was a great improvement on what we had experienced with friends and family in other homes and this adds to the quiet calmness enjoyed by residents and us as visitors. Over the past year, it has been like being part of a large family and we enjoy regularly engaging with staff and residents when we visit. It is a happy well organised and efficient home and one we would highly recommend.

I have only been able to visit my mum twice so far because I live 100 miles away, but she is clearly very settled at Ashwood. She gets around using a walking frame which neither her home carers or the hospital had managed to persuade her to do, when we visited her, in her own home, she was disengaged
and sleepy, here she is engaged and alert. Often at home, she would refuse to dress in the morning (even with help) but both times I've visited her at Ashwood she has been dressed, and her carers assure me she accepts (sometimes reluctantly) a shower, which she flatly refused at home.
Her legs were ulcerated and extremely swollen whilst she was at home, in fact before going to Ashwood she was hospitalised at least twice for fear of blood clots. When I saw her earlier this week her ulcers were much improved, and the swelling virtually is gone, in fact, her extra-wide -calf fitting socks were falling down. I am reluctantly moving her, but only so we can be closer, and I can see her more frequently.

Was very sceptical when my mother was first sent to Ashwood. After only 24 hours was highly impressed by the care staff and management team. Over the weeks the care my mother received was brilliant and the level of cleanliness of my mother was fantastic. The home itself was very hygienic and clean and

Mum moved here from a privately funded home so we were a little worried about how she would settle in. We needn't have been, as the home has been fantastic and she is getting excellent care. The staff are professional, caring and highly competent. They are attentive and ensure she is regularly eating
and drinking which she needs encouragement to do. The staff show mum an enormous amount of care and respect and I see that they also do this for the other residents too. It's a huge relief to see her so well looked after.

I have visited a respite resident on three separate residencies and have always been impressed by the care shown by the staff of Ashwood. It is a warm, comfortable and friendly environment where compassion, caring and the love shown knows no bounds. A very wonderful team of people showing dedication

During my mother's stay at Ashwood, we have found the care given by the staff to be extremely high quality. They have treated and cared for her as an individual and given her a sense of belonging. The home is in general very well managed, provides excellent food and regular activities either provided
by staff or 3rd parties, musicians, choirs, quizzes etc. My mother really enjoys having her hair done weekly in the homes fully equipped hair salon.

My mother has been a resident here with dementia and the home has improved immensely in the last 12 months since the refurbishment and new management. It is always nice and clean and fresh and my mother has improved as much as can be expected and now responds to me and my wife.

I found the care and attention my sister-in-law received when she needed it most after she had a stroke was excellent. The staff nursed her back to health and now over 2 years later she is happy and quite content. We were surprised that she survived and as a family, we are quite happy with her care.

Continuously helpful and courteous in all departments, skilful where medical advice and treatment are concerned, keen attention is shown to cleanliness and tidiness be it in the corridor, lounge or private rooms; mixed collection of occupation all interests including "hands-on" topics. Staff appear

My mum is very happy at Ashwood. She likes all the staff and they seem to like her! The quantity and quality of activities that go on is superb, and Mum enjoys it all. As visitors, we are made to feel welcome and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Two areas that concern me are that she has lost numerous
items from her room, including glasses, a watch, cuddly toys and no end of clothes. Secondly, there are times when it is hard to find a member of staff when needed.

Caring people (staff). Mixing people with different degrees of dementia can make it uncomfortable for some. Could be more carer sin bungalows. Food selection and menus well thought out. Minor things like no hand gel at entrance or soap in the toilet could be better. Garden areas could be tidier. Entertainment

All residents have been included in the decorating Christmas of their home.
Lots of singing and happy times. Staff very friendly and know the residents and their needs and funny ways. I take my hat off to the staff here that work very hard and always manage to have a smile on their face. Lots of notices
of upcoming events. BBQ's in the summer fetes etc. Carol singing and more staff go the extra mile to keep the residents safe and happy.

I have worked in the care industry for over 10 years and worked in Domiciliary care and for the NHS before joining the Ashwood family. I have worked at Ashwood for over 6 years in various roles and I am so proud to work here.
