I started my career in care at 17 for Enfield Council and initially wanted to work with children but was unable to as I wasn’t 18. I then chose to work in care and worked in a care home for 4 years; this was where I found my love for this role. My path eventually led me to Ashwood, and I have been here for 22 years. Runwood has enabled me to complete my NVQ 2 and 3 as well as many other qualifications.

I was then promoted to a night Care Team Leader but have been working as a day Care Team Leader for nearly 3 years, and I love it and the lovely bunch I work with.

I have worked my way up to Care Team Leader at Ashwood since I have worked here and have achieved my NVQ 3 qualification as well as gaining a wealth of experience in both my care role and CTL role. In particular, understanding and providing person-centred care to residents living with dementia and complex needs.
