Ashlyns is ideally situated in 13 acres of parkland ground on the historic Ashlyns Hall Estate in Hertfordshire. Ashlyns is an award-winning single storey, purpose built home built around a stylish courtyard. This home has been tastefully furnished and equipped as one of B&M Care's superior homes.

There is a choice of single or companion en suite bedrooms, all of which may be personalised.

Ashlyns offers a choice of lounges and dining areas, a private family lounge/reading room and garden conservatory. The beautifully manicured walled gardens at Ashlyns offer a safe environment, with easy access pathways and a Victorian greenhouse for outdoor activities.

Ashlyns offers long term residential care and short stay respite breaks for older people. The home benefits from a safe comfortable environment that specialises in the care of older people with dementia related needs.

The home's Activities Organisers arrange a varied social calendar of meaningful, appropriate activities and entertainment, including trips to places of interest, exercise classes, movement to music and tailored, individual activities.

The home is very welcoming, clean and secure. I found the staff to be very friendly, even though they were extremely busy. The residents seemed happy and the interaction with the staff was amazingly good. It is certainly one of the best homes I have visited and would definitely recommend Ashlyns Care

My dad and our family have been made to feel extremely welcome by everyone at Ashlyns, from the manager down, all staff are amazing. The food is fantastic. My dad likes good old-fashioned traditional food and that's what he gets - his appetite has increased. The home is beautiful and clean. The environment
is amazing. My dad is happy which makes us happy as a family. Nothing is too much trouble. Well done to the Ashlyns team - you are all amazing.

Ashlyns is very well run, with experienced and caring staff. My mother settled in well, after moving from sheltered accommodation due to reduced mobility. She was particularly keen on the food and enjoyed her interactions with the staff. Minor problems were addressed immediately and handled well. Ashlyns
are keen to keep their residents active and mobile and activities are varied and engaging.

My mother has been in Ashlyns Care Home now for two years, sadly she is now having end of life care. Her care in the past two years has been excellent, the staff are all very caring, kind and friendly knowing each resident personally.
I cannot thank everyone at Ashlyns enough for looking after my mother
in her final years.
The care she is now receiving is wonderful and she is being made to feel comfortable, safe and calm in her final weeks. Thank you, everyone, at Ashlyns.

My father was admitted to Ashlyns after a stroke in September. During his time there he has had excellent and professional care and support and has made good progress physically and mentally. The environment is clean and fresh - he loves the food and likes the choices he gets. The home is set in the
beautiful environment. Staff are always helpful and courteous to us and kind and efficient with the residents. Very happy with the choice for him to come here.

My Father moved to Ashlyns in April 2017.
Since his move, he has put on weight (he was losing weight before) and become more sociable.
Previously he spent most days just sitting in his flat.
He now takes his meals in the restaurant and sometimes joins in communal activities.
His appearance has improved
and he now looks much smarter.
Staff are caring and helpful.
The family are very pleased with Ashlyns.

Ashlyns is a well-managed home with an exceptional group of staff. I cannot speak highly enough of the way my elderly father is being looked after here. The difficult transition from living alone has been sensitively handled and I am extremely grateful. Communication is excellent and I feel confident
that my father is being well looked after 24/7. Visiting times are open and I have found staff to be consistently welcoming and helpful during my many visits.

Care at Ashlyns is first class. Residents are treated with dignity and great kindness. Main rooms are comfortable and the facilities such as the entertainment programme, hairdressing salon are good. Resident bedrooms are very comfortably furnished with private facilities. Residents are encouraged to
personalise their rooms with items from their home. All the carers are wonderful and very cheerful. There is a beautiful conservatory looking onto a lovely walled garden, where residents can stroll and sit out on sunny days. A 5* home.

My mother-in-law ahs been at Ashlyns Care Home since May 2016. The whole family are very pleased with how she has settled in and is enjoying a new lease of life. She loves her food and always says how good it is here!
She has gained weight over the months a good thing as she was underweight and not
eating properly at home. The staff are always chatty and friendly and I feel I can approach anyone of them including the manager to discuss any concerns and to tell them how good things are!

After a fall left my dad too frail in his own home, we were lucky enough to find a place at Ashlyns Care Home. From the very moment we walked in, we knew that the care would be good but didn't realise how good. Dad was with Ashlyns Care Home for 13 months and he thought it was marvellous. They not only
took care of dad but made us all feel that we had extended our family. The love and care shown to our family was outstanding and helped us in the knowledge that he was not only cared for but loved. Now that dad has passed on, I will miss seeing them all.

My mother has been a long term resident at Ashlyns. First in the care home and then in the dementia unit. My brother and sisters couldn't be more happy with the care and attention my mum gets. The staff are superb and very patient with mum. The rooms she has used are all spotlessly clean and well furnished
and the food looks and tastes fantastic. I would definitely recommend the home to anyone.

My aunt has been in Ashlyns Care Home since 2007. I come every year from Canada to visit her. The care and overall standard is first class. The staff treat my aunt with dignity and respect and are fabulous with her. I have watched the staff with other residents and the same is true for them. The management
and staff of Ashlyns are first class, in my opinion, are first class in my opinion. When come over and stay the whole day for a week or two at Ashlyns dining.

For the past 8 months that my father was in this home, he received the best care I could have wished for. He was treated with love and respect and during his final hours, the staff were there for him day and night, supporting and caring for all his needs. They were also really supportive to me and other
visitors, providing endless coffee and snacks. I cannot stress how great they all were, from the management to the chefs, all were superb, caring and very loving to him.

My Mother in law has been a resident at Ashlyns Care Home for 9 years and she loves it. She is extremely well cared for and the staff are very professional, friendly and caring. Her health and medication are very well managed and we are always kept informed. The building is very well maintained and
of a high standard and there is great attention to detail. Her bedroom is spacious, comfortable and kept spotlessly clean and has an ensuite toilet and wash basin, a window and french door overlooking a spacious courtyard. The laundry service is very well managed and we haven't had any issues with missing items. The food is of a very high standard and very varied and the dining area is always clean and fresh. Management and staff are always welcoming and keep us informed of any care issues. Stimulating entertainment is provided, including concerts, discussion groups, Bingo, Quizzes, visits from a local school and nursery as well as outings to garden centres, bluebell woods etc. Highly recommend!

The carer, mum and I went all through mum's care experiences; washing/showers, laundry, medication, and activities arranged by the home. Also talked about footstools (the home managed to get a more comfortable one). Established that mum didn't have any real problems with her care.

Since joining B&M Care in 1998, and Ashlyns in 2000, Diane has strived to develop herself, her staff, and her home in line with the company’s person-centred philosophy to deliver a standard of care that is highly regarded both in and around Berkhamsted. Over the years, B&M Care has encouraged Diane to undertake relevant training and education to further support her role as Home Manager, which includes: the ‘Leadership Matters in Person-centred Dementia Care’ programme [accredited by Alzheimer’s Society and Surrey University] and the Registered Managers Award (RMA).
