Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in early 2021. At this point, she was living at home with our father. As a family, my brother, sister and I were able to provide regular care that was also supported through daily visits from a local care provider. At the end of 2021, our father died and despite mum's
original wish to stay in the family home, she took the decision that she was not safe to continue to live independently in October 2022. The Home was recommended to us by our cousins. Their mum, our aunt and our mum's sister were there. It seemed to be good to be true. Upon visiting Auburn Mere I was struck by the warm environment and the staff were very welcoming. The management answered all of our questions and were very reassuring. Mum became a resident in November 2022. In our case, there was very little readjustment for her. Perhaps it helped having her sister in the room next door. It's also because of the care and attention shown to her by the fantastic staff. It's still early days.

My husband spent the last few weeks of his life in this wonderful care home. His needs were huge and all the staff treated him with care, compassion, and dignity and showed such kindness to me as well. His stay there was short but I know that he could not have received better care. Everyone without
exception had the same attitude; nothing was too much trouble for them. This care home deserves every accolade.

Mum's Alzheimer's had progressed to the point where it was not safe for her to continue to live independently. The Home was recommended to us by a friend of the family. Upon visiting Auburn Mere I was struck by how much it felt like a home as opposed to an institution. The management answered all of
our questions and were very reassuring. Mum became a resident in April 2021. There was a period of readjustment for her as she got used to her new surroundings. Thankfully this was brief due to the care and attention shown to her by the fantastic staff. Mum soon made new friends and takes part in many of the activities on offer. Mum's key worker is great. I get regular feedback on Mum's health and her needs. Visiting is also easy to arrange. The home has a Facebook page that is regularly updated with photos of the residents enjoying their various activities. Mum is always smiling in these photos and is always happy and relaxed when we visit. I couldn't ask for any more.

From the very first time I visited Auburn Mere and since I have always felt at ease and comfortable within such a caring environment. From the first word go I knew my mother would be happy there. No task asked of the staff has been too much trouble and their unfailing courtesy and kindness shine through
every time. All the staff are resilient heroes who all deserve a pandemic campaign medal for their devotion and dedication. A care home I would recommend to anyone thinking of placing their loved ones into care.

Two years ago my Aunt became too incapable to live by herself so we had to find a residential care home to take her on. We did our research and Auburn Mere ticked all the boxes for her needs. Since she has been there all the signs are that she has had a new lease on life and we are very happy with the
service provided by the manager and her colleagues.
The grounds are well kept with a lovely view for all the residents.

My aunt has been very happy at Auburn Mere for the past two years. The home is small and welcoming (though obviously, the current Covid restrictions have prevented us from going in). Staff are kind and go above and beyond to make residents and their families feel informed and happy. We searched very
hard to find a home that would suit our aunt, most were far too institutional. Throughout the past year, Auburn Mere has tried so hard to do the best for all and we are so grateful. We would have no hesitation in recommending Auburn Mere to anyone about to take the huge step of trying to find a suitable home for a loved one struggling with age and health issues.

My father has lived at Auburn Mere since the start of 2020. He initially went from hospital for some respite but he liked it so much he stayed. I can honestly say that Auburn Mere is like home from home and all the staff are wonderful. We were so nervous about Dad leaving his flat to live here, it was
such a big step, yet it was 100% the right decision. They do so much to accommodate each family and their wishes and pre-COVID we came and went with Dad, visiting, taking him to us, etc. - whatever we wanted. He is so well cared for and medication, food, personal care, wellbeing... all these things are managed really well. Since the virus, they have been even more outstanding - being completely transparent with how they run things, and they have locked down with and cared for my dad in such a kind, compassionate and professional way. It is such a beautiful building and grounds - which is an added bonus - but the thing that makes it really beautiful is the staff.

We chose Auburn Mere after looking at many others. The quality of care, cleanliness, friendliness of staff, amazing food and their open communication and stimulating programme of activities have all impressed.
Nothing is too much trouble whenever we visited or call and during the recent pandemic, we
felt reassured they were doing their very best to keep everyone safe. I can highly recommend Auburn Mere Care Home.

It was very difficult deciding that it would be best for our elderly mother who is suffering with Alzheimer’s to go into a care home. We knew it was the best thing for her but still felt incredibly guilty. We looked at one care home and despite good reviews, we just didn’t feel it was right for our
mum and felt concerned that we would feel the same however many we looked at. Auburn Mere had been recommended to us and we decided to go and look. From the moment we walked in the door we felt such a lovely presence. We felt completely at home and knew almost immediately it was the best place for our mum. Our mum has now been at Auburn Mere for 20 months and I cannot say enough good things about it! The home is so homely and comfortable. The staff are unbelievably kind, caring and hardworking! There are daily activities that mum enjoys and keep her mind active. I cannot thank the staff enough and would give this home 10/10! More if I could. I would 100% recommend it!

My mum has been a resident at Auburn Mere for a year and eight months and I have no hesitation in highly recommending the home. The building and grounds themselves are lovely. There is a beautiful conservatory which residents and guests can enjoy sitting in, a TV room with a large-screen television
and a comfortable dining room. The gardens are extensive and allow plenty of outdoor areas for residents and guests. The carers at the home are outstanding and so kind and loving in the way they look after residents. They also make family and friends feel welcome. There is also excellent entertainment, both morning and afternoon which helps to keep residents occupied. Management are also very caring and professional. There is a manager and two deputy managers who are very approachable and understanding if you have any problems or queries. All in all, I would highly recommend Auburn Mere to anyone wanting an outstanding and caring home for their loved one.

Not being able to see my Nan through this pandemic has been difficult. I visit once a week to check to make sure that my Nan is happy, strong and knows how much I adore her!
I couldn’t thank you enough for all the staff who stayed on to support all the residences and our families. To us, you are as
important as the NHS and I will forever be grateful.
Calling, FaceTime anything we want is no effort for the team.

I can't recommend Auburn Mere highly enough. When we first looked at the home for our mum we felt very positive about the homely and friendly atmosphere and nothing has disappointed us in the 2 years since then. The home itself and the grounds are lovely and very well kept and the staff are absolutely
amazing. Mum has received such wonderful care and kindness and the home has become a second family to Mum and to us. Moving our mum into a residential care home was the last thing we ever thought we would do, but her needs became too great for us and Auburn Mere has turned it into a very positive experience and we are very grateful for that. Mum is really well looked after and enjoys the many activities that are put on. We as family are always made very welcome and we have been really well supported at times when Mum has not been very well. During this time of Covid19 we have felt very confident that Mum has been in the best possible place and we are regularly updated with news.

Auburn Mere has been my mother's place of residence for the last 3 and a half years.
Even from our first visit to view I have always been continually and consistently impressed and reassured by the levels of care and consideration that are given to each and every one of the residents.
Staff go out
of their way to make the residents feel individual, and are always able to answer or share any concerns - and contact me immediately if any specific issues they fell need escalating, such as illness, falls, changes in disposition etc.
The varied menu is excellent, activities organised to meet every resident's needs, monthly newsletter communication to update on other initiatives etc all go towards creating a feeling of trust and peace of mind that she is in excellent capable care.
I would thoroughly recommend Auburn Mere to anyone looking for either long term or short respite care.

I would highly recommend this wonderful Care Home. My wonderful Mum-in-law was a resident at Aubern Mere for over 2 years until she died recently aged 98. Her brother had lived there five years previously also until the age of 98. We cannot speak too highly of the committed, caring staff at the home,
quite a few of whom have worked there for many years and who we, as a family, felt we knew as friends. We always felt Mum was in a safe and loving environment.


The building is immaculate and set in beautiful grounds. The common areas are spacious and individual rooms are tastefully decorated.

We are very pleased with the care my mother is receiving at Auburn Mere and feel we have left Mum in good hands. All the staff, both office and carers are very friendly and approachable to us as the family as well as to Mum. We are always made to feel welcome on our frequent visits and often share a
nice pot of tea with Mum in her room or sun lounge. Mum very much appreciates it when staff stop and chat and take an interest in her as a person, this stops her being bored and makes her feel wanted and also is a brilliant way for the staff to find out any concerns Mum may have. There is a good routine and activities with always something to do or plan for such as visits out for lunch. Medical concerns are taken seriously. The gardens are well looked after, set in lovely scenery and are a pleasant place to sit and chat. We also very much enjoyed the recent Garden Party for the Royal Wedding.

Respect for the client's choice is something that stands out at Auburn Mere. Clients are treated individually and you will still see clients up late in the evening. Visitors at whatever time of the day or evening are positively welcomed. Even when I arrive at the home with my Mum who had been in casualty,
she was greeted with joy that she'd returned. It really is a home, not an institution. Normal activities are happening with clients all the time so there is a positive atmosphere and yet it is one of the cheapest homes in the area.

We chose Auburn Mere after visiting 9 other care homes in the local area.
We liked it because it felt "homely" rather than like a hospital or student accommodation.
The rooms are a good size on the whole, with high ceilings and nicely decorated.
We also received the best advice from the staff on
how to move my father there to make it as seamless as possible. It also helps that price-wise it's mid-range.
If I had any feedback it would be that communication can be lacking at times and laundry can be a bit slap-dash.
But my father is safe and well overall.

All the carers are lovely and treat Dad well. He moved into the home in October 2016. Since then I asked senior staff, on more than one occasion, to request certain things from Dad's GP and they had not been done. This resulted in me having to make an appointment with the GP to get them done eg blood
test. I will now always email my requests to the home to ensure they are carried out. Otherwise, Dad is happy and well looked after. Having had previous experience of a nursing home where my mother stayed, Auburn Mere is very good in comparison.
