My wife has been cared for at Belmont View for over three years. She is grateful for all the care she receives from the staff. The atmosphere in the home is very pleasant. One is encouraged to feedback as much information as possible to help the staff to know the views and wishes of those for whom they
are responsible.

Reply from Tilly Leitao, Customer & Sales Co-ordinator at Belmont View

Thank you for this wonderful feedback on the care and support provided at Belmont View during your respite stay. The management and staff will be delighted to receive such great praise. With regards to food, whilst our trained Chefs are able to provide many different, nutritionally balanced meals, a specific diet as advised by your GP was followed during your stay. We look forward to welcoming you again at Belmont View.

Having visited several care homes in East Sussex and locally in Herts, e.g. Hertford, Hoddesdon and Ware, I decided that Belmont View was better suited to my brother's needs.
Being an amputee with dementia, I was particularly interested in the circular nature of the building, the ample gardens, the
animals and the quiet and not-so-quiet lounges.
I visit my brother twice per week and am pleased to find him well cared for, generally clean and tidy.
The food always looks of good quality with a wide choice, allowing Brother to select an appetising meal of good quality and adequate portion size.

The very worst decision that I've had to make, made much better by the lovely staff at Belmont View.
After the ups and downs to be expected with such a change my husband seems settled and happy and I am still able to have input with his care.

This is a lovely place, more like home. The staff are caring and extremely professional. We as visitors are always welcome. The staff strive to make this home a warm and caring place to live. They all do an extremely difficult job with humour and lots of love. We are very thankful our mother has found
a lovely place.

My mother spent a week at the Belmont care home in March 2018 whilst my partner and I went on holiday for a week. This is the first time we have used respite care for my mother, she has been living with us since 2010, but we have always managed to support my Mum through family members.
The care provided
by the team was excellent all round. All the staff, without exception, provided a high standard of care for my mum, from the cleanliness of her room to the well maintained communal areas. Food was of a good standard and there was always something going on in the day center to keep her occupied. A big thank you to all the team at the Belmont. My mum can't stop talking about how much she enjoyed her stay. Thank you.

Very pleased and satisfied with the care of my wife during the last five months of her life until ended by Alzheimer's. There always seemed to be sufficient staff who were always very helpful and sympathetic.

My mother, suffering from severe dementia, was resident at Belmont View for the last 6 months of her life.
The care she received from every member of staff was truly exceptional.
Genuinely caring people, who not only cared for my mother but for the whole family, made what was an inevitably difficult
period so much easier.
We will always be grateful to them and hope they understand how much their hard work, skills and care makes a real difference.

My dear sister spent the last year of her life in Treetops and I have to say she couldn't have received better care. The staff looked after her so well everyone was kind, caring and loving. I visited often and there was always great rapport between residents and staff. They certainly knew the residents
so well and it made for a lovely family atmosphere. They were always there to support me too when my sister was really poorly.

What I am really saying is that I'm so grateful to everyone - managers, girls on reception, careers, housekeepers and the dear lady delivering the laundry. You are all such special people. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.839)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.839) out of 10 for Belmont View is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.886 for Belmont View is calculated as follows: ( (63 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 4.886

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.953 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Belmont View is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 85 registered maximum number of service users is 17. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 17 = 0.353

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
