My brother has severe dementia and has been a resident for 5 years. He has always had wonderful care and been treated with the greatest respect. The staff are fully committed to the care of their residents. They talk about TLC and that is what they receive. I am always kept informed of any medical concerns
and have nothing but praise for Greenacres and the staff.

Reply from Tilly Leitao, Customer & Sales Co-ordinator at Greenacres

All the staff are very friendly towards residents and families. Mum was a bit hostile on arriving here back in May but with the support of the staff she soon became settled in and is now very happy to be here. A great home with a great atmosphere, with plenty of activities.

I have always found the staff to be pleasant and helpful. Some have even managed to build a rapport with my dad which hasn't been easy.
The room is spacious and has good furniture.
Unfortunately, my dad does not take part in any of the social activities but they are laid on.

Over the last 21 months, my husband has been living at Greenacres. There has been a few ups and downs as expected because of his condition. The staff have been wonderful, supportive and very approachable when issues occur. My husband is settled now and in a routine which is reassuring. The family are
all happy he is living there.

The home is always clean no matter what time or day you go. The staff are always very welcoming and helpful and if there is any problems they will contact you. Such as call a Doctor if a resident is ill. On the whole, I am quite happy with Greenacres.

My experience of Greenacres has been very positive. A warm, homely atmosphere is always present. Any concerns are dealt with quickly and efficiently. The staff are excellent and care for me and my family as well as my Mother. They bring in medical intervention when needed and always inform me of anything
I should know about. I have nothing but respect and gratitude for staff and management.

Very satisfied with all aspects of the care home and its staff and facilities.

Staff are always cheerful and make time to answer questions and address any concerns I may have regarding mum's care. They are also excellent at contacting me immediately if there are any concerns or to inform me of functions

or entertainments to involve residents families whenever possible. Could not have found better.

A place where my sister felt secure in her surroundings she knew and cared for by a team of caring managers and staff who gave first class care.

The people were responsible for my sister's end of life care and we as a family could not have managed without their care and compassion.

My sister

spent 2 and a half years at Greenacres and their care and surrounding gave us as a family peace of mind.

Initially, I was worried about my mum going into residential care but I am now so happy she was lucky enough to go to Greenacres. The staff take excellent care of her and were quick to build a relationship with her which is often as clear as the smile on her face when one of them approaches.
Communication
between Greenacres and us is very good and we are called if there is any changes or events.
I visit my mother most days and she and the other residents are always clean, cared for and very well fed with a great variety of snacks and meals. There is an active entertainment and activity programme and families are often invited to join in.

My mum was taken into Greenacres nearly 5 years ago. She had vascular dementia, and was very trying in the first few years, and not so bad towards the end, but still hard work.

I cannot praise the home enough, their care and compassion has been constant and for that I'm eternally grateful. They took

over from me when it became too difficult to deal with her.

Choosing Greenacres was the best decisions we have made. My mother is without question happy! She always looks clean, relaxed and comfortable no matter what time I visit.
The staff are so kind and friendly and are always able to answer any questions I may have or find out the answer for me. My mum
is receiving 5-star care by the best people for the job that we could have chosen.

Quantum staff were very helpful in our search for a care home in Hertfordshire. In particular, we are indebted to management in Greenacres for their assistance and offer of a place in a local home where we felt the staff were caring, happy and flexible. We have been pleased with our choice and appreciate
how welcome we are made to feel when visiting. The staff are always supportive of our requests and we feel mum is happy with her room, the staff and the way of life offered. We trust staff, who work with us.

I am so happy my aunt is now settled in the home and is very happy there. I couldn't have picked a better place if I'd done it myself. The people who work here are marvellous and go the extra mile! Nothing is too much trouble for them.

My Auntie was a resident at Greenacres for just over a year. Unfortunately, she had to move to a nursing home. We found the staff at Greenacres a truly dedicated team. My Auntie was treated like an extended family and the carers took the time to get to know my Auntie and their life story, their family
and visitors. There are many varied activities at the home. Meals are cooked fresh daily and my Auntie's diet was catered for. I would recommend this home.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.953)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.953) out of 10 for Greenacres is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.853 for Greenacres is calculated as follows: ( (58 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 68 Ratings = 4.853

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.1 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Greenacres is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.5

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
