Guysfield Care Home is a Victorian building with a warm welcoming family atmosphere. The home has highly trained staff available to get to know residents individually offering the highest standards of residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent and short stay basis.

The home is surrounded by beautiful rural countryside and stands within large grounds of south facing landscaped gardens, with mature trees and shrubs and large areas of terracing where residents can sit and enjoy the rural views in changing seasons.

Guysfield Care Home is part of Caring Homes, an established, family-run care company. Every team member receives their unique ‘Living in My World’ dementia training which is accredited by City and Guilds. It highlights the importance of meaningful activities and a stimulating environment for people living with dementia, as well as addressing clinical aspects of care.

My mother has been in Guysfield for nearly 3 years. I visit her regularly. I am satisfied with the good care that she receives. I would like her to receive service from the hairdresser twice a month and from the chiropodist once a month. The return of correct clothes from the laundry has been a problem
but I hope it is now resolved. Her personal wheelchair was broken whilst being cleaned, she now uses one that is provided by Guysfield. The previous one was bought by me.

My mother lived at Guysfield for 5 years, like many of the residents mum had dementia and over those 5 years, the disease slowly took her until she passed away earlier this month. The care she received during that time has been wonderful and as a family, we will always be glad that we chose Guysfield
for mum’s home. The carers really care and they have had a strong management team for the last few years which is important in making sure the home is run well. The care home is an old building with character, which gives it a homely feel and the regular entertainment and activities really help to keep residents active. The palliative care given to mum was excellent, much better care than she would ever have received in hospital and I really do have to thank all the staff for the support they gave to me and my family at the end. A lovely team of people.

The staff are friendly and very helpful to residents and family.
I feel confident that mum's needs are catered for and any requests for help are answered and dealt with in a timely manner.

My wife was admitted after a short stay at the hospital.
I had cared for her for 8 years and 'letting go' wasn't easy.
It became apparent that given the deterioration in my wife's health and its consequent demands for specialist care which could not be provided by me with carers, that residential
care was the only answer.
From day one, the care and respect shown to my wife has been a comfort to both of us.

My Dad went to Guysfield from hospital while recovering form an infection. All the staff were warm and welcoming.
I can not fault the level of care and respect shown towards my dad and us as a family.
My daily up-date calls were never too much trouble.


The activities were spot on and the outside

area is lovely for sitting in the sunshine, which my dad loves to do. The freshly cooked meals were plenty as well as tea cakes and biscuits!

My father received a warm welcome when he arrived.
All the staff were very helpful and friendly as my brother and I brought my father's belongings in and helped us to get to know the system. It was all very reassuring.


My father's first few days at Guysfield have been pleasant and he has settled

in well so far. He loves the food.

From arrival, my father was made to feel at ease and safe.
He immediately relaxed, was less stressed and his breathing was considerably better.
He has found the staff to be very friendly and professional. His eating improved drastically.
He would have preferred to have stayed here but unfortunately,
social services had different ideas.

I was very concerned when I became aware that my dad needed to go into a care home. Many stories in the press and media of some care homes were not favourable. However, I need not have worried. My dad settled in very quickly and has been a resident for over a year now. Overall, he enjoys being in the
home and it's great to see a smile on his face again. All the staff and management deserve credit for the way the residents are treated.
It is very comforting to be able to relax each day knowing that my dad is being looked after in a safe, secure environment by excellent staff, who treat my dad in a respectful, dignified manner.

Our relative has been at Guysfield for almost a year. Every single member of the team (without exception) has shown great compassion and understanding, which has resulted in her gaining in confidence and now calls it home! She enjoys the varied activities and frequently says that the food is lovely!
Her room is well-appointed and was made even more homely by the team taking the time and effort to display family photos and to ensure that her own bed linen is used. We have been very impressed with the changes that have taken place since the new manager has been in post. He is most certainly a great asset to the home in his new role, as he was when he was Deputy Manager.
