Hillview is a modern purpose-built residential care home, designed to provide exceptional care to older people, as well as expert care for people who are living with a dementia. The home is situated an a quiet residential street, close to the picturesque market town of Ware, and near all major amenities.

Hillview prides itself in providing the very highest standards in personalised care to all of its residents.

Hillview is a warm, homely and comfortable, modern building in a quiet residential road. With a total of 37 en-suite shower rooms, there is a choice of single or double rooms, all of which may be personalised.

The home offers a choice of impressive lounges, a dining areas, a private garden and easy access to the garden decking with views across the surrounding countryside. The well kept manicured gardens to the rear are easily accessible and offer a safe environment, with easy access for outdoor activities.

Hillview offers both long term and short stay breaks.

Our mum went in initially for respite because of a broken wrist, we knew that there was availability to go permanently if Mum liked it and settled. It was a little bit bumpy understandably at first but Mum settled and was very happy.

All of the staff are helpful, kind and show great empathy to the residents and families.
My mum is cared for in great depth and I am happy with all that they have done and are doing for my mum.
The new home (Hillview) is fully equipped for my mum's needs.
The food is great and always gives you
a warm welcome.
The best care home by far.

Hillview is a beautiful building, the facilities are excellent and my mum has settled now. She’s happy, her room is much better and bigger and her own en-suite. The staff seem happy, it’s got a lovely calm atmosphere in there. The decor is lovely, overall I give it 10 out of 10.

Thank you to all the staff at Hillview for doing such a wonderful job day in and day out caring for my lovely Nan. Always making themselves available to put my and my family’s mind to rest whenever we have any questions. Everything is always kept clean, the food always looks amazing and the residents

Hillview is a fairly small care home with around 30 residents. Generally, the carers are good and well-meaning but on occasions, they find it difficult to run fully staffed and employ temps. Some of these carers are not as good as they should be. The home is a peaceful place with activities 4-5 times
a week. There are several areas within the home that need updating to allow the staff to carry out their jobs properly.

My mother is a resident at Hillview and has advanced dementia. She is very happy at Hillview, I visit her weekly and she is always comfortable and happy. The home is clean, tidy and very welcoming. Mum is forever telling me how lovely the girls (carers) are and how much she loves them and what a lovely
home she has. I could not wish for more.

My mum has been a resident in the home for about 3 years now. My mother suffers from a mental health condition (depression and psychotic episodes). The staff and management at Hillview are excellent when dealing with our mother. They understand her every need and I am very happy with the care that my
mum receives and couldn't ask for anymore. They are a credit to the care system. Thank you staff and management at Hillview.

My uncle has been a resident at Hillview care home for 3 years.
The family are extremely happy with the care he has received; he is treated kindly and is well loved by members of staff.
My uncle has dementia; and even though he is hardly able to converse, the staff take time to talk to him and chat
about his past life.
Unfortunately, because of dementia, it is difficult for him to join in with activities within the home, but he enjoys the music entertainment.
A great many members of staff have worked there for the whole time he has lived at the home, which gives a good consistency of carers the residents can relate to, particularly those with dementia where it definitely helps to see a familiar face.
Food is freshly cooked, and I am told by one of the residents, very tasty.
Hillview always has a nice fresh smell; clothes are well laundered, and residents look clean and tidy.
I am happy to recommend Hillview care home, an extremely well-managed home, and can't thank the staff enough for the kindness shown to my uncle.

My mother seems content at Hillview and is quite appreciative of what the staff do. From my observation, I think on the whole they do an amazing job especially working in a building which, by today's standards, is inadequate and everyone must be looking forward to the move to the new build care home
early next year and I am sure the residents once settled in will love their new surroundings.


One observation as a regular visitor, I hope after this move has taken place there will be staff available to facilitate more constructive activities for the residents in order to stimulate them as that seems to have gone by the wayside recently (or maybe my visiting time has not corresponded with such activities eg bingo, keep fit exercises etc).

My mum has been in Hillview for nearly seven months and suffers from dementia which presents as confusion and memory loss. The staff all treat her with kindness and affection and are always cheerful. Whenever I visit, I am always made welcome. Her room is small but clean and tidy. The staff are undoubtedly
the biggest asset as they appear well trained and genuinely caring. Mum seems content most of the time and often comments that the girls are "ever so nice".

The staff at Hillview are professional and hard working and show real care to their residents. They engage with everyone and involve them in activities to the level each individual wishes. My family and I believe it to be a safe and secure environment for our mother and gives her the level of support
she needs now and in the future. With 34 rooms it is the size of a home where everyone is known and treated as an individual.

Tracy Schrock

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2023

Tracy's career at B&M Care started in 2012 at St Catharine's as a Care Assistant. Following two promotions, she transferred to Milford Lodge in 2017 as an Assistant Manager to continue developing her skillset within the home’s management team. Beyond her extensive knowledge of day-to-day care practice, she has a roster of qualifications, including an NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management, in addition to being the home’s Safeguarding Champion. In 2023 she became Home Manager of Hillview after a successful move from St Catherines.
