Martins House have been an amazing support to our family. We are very thankful for the time and care they have given to our family and mum. The care the staff at Martin’s House give my dad is outstanding. The staff have been exemplary through the COVID crisis and have steadfastly given an excellent level of care during the most difficult of circumstances. Their professionalism and excellent people skills have helped clients and families
alike, up to and during the COVID crisis. The staff have all taken the time to get to know me as well as my father. I am so grateful for everything they do for him. My dad is so happy with the care he receives, he is treated with respect and dignity.

My uncle lived at Martins House for about 18 months before his death. At first, he wasn't happy to be in a care home but the care and kindness of the staff won him over, and each time we visited he would remark on how good they were to him. We found the staff to be always pleasant and friendly, and
the atmosphere that of a calm and well-run establishment.

My mum has been a resident for nearly 11 years at Martins House and since day one, I have always felt my mum was safe and well looked after. We’ve had a few issues over the years as you would expect, but nothing major. I can honestly say since the manager has taken over in 2016 along with the team,
the home has come on so much and I’m so reassured that my mum is well looked after. So nice to see the home manager, along with the deputy manager, acknowledge the residents as much as the carers. I’m always kept informed about her wellbeing, especially if I’m at work and can’t see her every day. The carers are lovely and know my mum inside and out. I cannot fault the home and the team.

My mum, aged 93, lived on her own for 3 years after Dad died and eventually dementia set in and she could not look after herself anymore. She moved into Martins House 6 months ago and she has become a different person - smiling, laughing and hugging. She has made loads of friends. She joins in with
all the activities and mealtimes are a joyful time as they are so lovely. Snacks and juice is available all through the day.
They even went to the theatre to see a pantomime.
All the staff are so friendly and caring. She has her hair done every week and Mum always keeps the staff amused.
The standard of care is exceptional in every way.

We were very pleased to meet one of the new senior carers who took the trouble to come and have a chat with us about Mum and her care. She reassured us about bathing rotas and informed us that she was going to give Mum a bath and hair wash that day. When our sister visited a couple of days later she
though Mum looked lovely and that the hairdresser had been in. This senior carer seems to be a very kind and caring person with a professional and friendly approach.

All the staff, from the lovely cleaner to both the managers, showed nothing but kindness and genuine care towards my dad and us, his family. When my dad was passing away, everyone went out of their way to make Dad comfortable and to help us through it. Nothing was too much trouble. The care shown to
us all was wonderful. What really impressed me was the genuine sadness shown by all the staff members. This demonstrated to me that my dad was important to them and this, in turn, confirms that all at Martins House are committed to providing the highest quality of care.

My Mum went into Martins House for a 21-day assessment following a number of falls and spending the best part of 3 months in hospital. The staff have been amazing, not only to my Mum but me too and I have had many a day when I struggled to cope in recent months but thankfully I can now rest easy knowing
my Mum is safe, warm and loved when I'm not around to give her that reassuring hug when she needs it and I can sleep easy at night which I didn't most of last year. I also want to say a big thank you to one of the ladies who sadly isn't at Martins House now but without her strength and support, I don't know where my Mum and I would be right now probably back in Lister or worse. I will be forever thankful for that lady.

My 87-year-old dad lived at Martins House for over a year until he passed away in April this year. His mental and physical health had declined when he was living at home alone previously and he struggled with eating. At Martins House, his health improved dramatically as the key workers helped him recover.
He put on weight and came out of his shell, interacting with the other residents. The staff were truly amazing and extremely kind. He received excellent care and the cheerful atmosphere did him a world of good. He enjoyed dancing at one of the parties. I will never forget the staff who tirelessly cared for him and I recommend Martins House to anyone looking for care for their relative.

My father is 100% better than he has been in a very long time. This is due to the care of the team and food supplied. If the scheme was rolled out further, there would be far less bed-blocking in hospital.
Well done Martins House. Our father has been given the best care and treatment we could have
wished for and is going to return home with a better mental and physical health. Cannot recommend more highly and thanks with much respect and gratitude.

My elderly father was transferred from hospital to Martins House for assessment on living independently. I was apprehensive but quickly realised what a wonderful set up there was at Martins House. The warm welcome my father and entire family received right from the start. The facilities and exceptional
staff gave us a good level of comfort. My father's recovery and improvement has been beyond our wildest hopes. Martins House has provided us all hope now that my father can return home safely. I would fully recommend.

My father was admitted to Martins House at the beginning of January 2019 after being in and out of the hospital for 7 weeks. He was in a very confused state and showing first signs of dementia and the care of the staff has been outstanding and my father is a different man, yes still a little confused
at times but he has come a long way with the help of Martins House.

Quality of care home is down to the staff.
At Martins House, I was impressed the first day I went as a visitor. Staff were smiling and helpful. They are the same every day.
My mother has improved considerably since being a resident. For example, from being wheelchair bound she now walks with a frame.
All down to the time, support and encouragement of the staff.

What a breath of fresh air Martins House was for my late mother in law and indeed all her family. We moved my late mother in law from another care home which to my mother in law and her family felt oppressive. Martins House was the absolute opposite. My mother in law had an armchair we bought for her
in her room and also a television. She was able to come and go to and from her room as often as she wanted. Her whole demeanour changed within a week of being there. She even got a boy friend - which shows it is never too late. We visited her regularly and were always met with smiling faces from both residents and staff. I truly cannot recommend Martins House highly enough for making the end of my mother in law's life so comfortable, safe and happy. If I need to go into a care home this is the one for me.

Mum was admitted to Martins House to convalesce after a stay in Hospital with pneumonia. Her stay lasted 21 days.
From arrival to departure, Mum was cared for with the utmost respect and tremendous kindness. Every member of staff from management to domestic made her feel welcome, happy and content.

Her recovery was amazing because of this. She grew stronger every day as a result of the commitment and dedication of every member of staff.
She is now home with me and is praising Martins House.
As her daughter, I cannot thank the staff enough for everything they did to make mum's stay so comfortable. Thank you all so much.

My nan has spent ten happy years being kindly and compassionately cared for at Martins House. She has always been treated with dignity and I have been advised of any concerns or changes to her care.
The carers have always been polite and considerate not only to Nan but to myself and my family.

This residential home was used as respite for my mother on leaving hospital. We were very impressed with the caring staff. They were very polite. The caring for my mother was exceptional. They treated her with dignity at all times. I would like to mention everyone's name but so many to put down but
special thanks to the two carers for looking after my mum, I will not forget what you have done.

Since moving into Martins House, mum has really turned a corner - she is so much happier and settled than she was in her last few months at home. Julie has over 20 years of experience in the Care industry and started as a Care Assistant. She joined the gold care family in August 2016 as Care Manager of Martins House.
She has completed many different NVQ’s in different areas and has her diploma LEVEL 5 in Health & Social Care. Recently in 2019, her home Martins House was rated overall Good by CQC and Outstanding in Responsive under her leadership, which was a great achievement for the home, and for Julie.
