Rated 'Outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission (December 2018), Prince Michael of Kent Court is a purpose-built facility located cloase to the town centre in Watford.

The Home has assistive technology to help engage and entertain residents. A specialist reminiscence garden and lighting is also available to reduce “sundowning,” promoting calmness and providing reassurance.

The Home is divided into five ‘family style’ house group areas, each with their own team of care staff. Each house group has its own comfortable dining room and communal lounge.

The level of care each person receives will depend on their individual needs. This is continuously monitored and reviewed to ensure each person receives the right level of care. Please contact the Home for further information.

My mother-in-law moved to Prince Michael of Kent Court in August 2023 and she has received first-class care from the excellent team at the home. All of the staff are friendly, welcoming and caring and go out of their way to ensure that all the residents and their families are happy and have all that
they need.

Since the resident has been in Prince Michael of Kent Court, he has made exceptional progress. He speaks positively about the care and food he receives.
He is positive about the staff and complimentary about the ways in which he is looked after. He is now walking (he was unable to do so on entering
Prince Michael of Kent Court), and he is clean and well-dressed. Although there are times his mind wanders, he is much more lucid than in the early days following entry.
As a friend of the occupant, I emphasize the positive way in which management and other staff members support the occupant but also all those who visit him.
The environment is very clean and welcoming, with a very good balance of decoration yet supportive measures. The programme of events is exceptional.

This is the first occasion I have had cause to be involved in managing someone's care in a home and I can say that the process has been excellent. The accommodation at Prince Michael of Kent Court, its cleanliness and the service provided by the staff is first class.

In May 2023, I spent 2 weeks in Respite Care in Prince Michael of Kent Court. I was most impressed with the warm welcome and the kind care and attention I received, as well as the excellent ambience of the home.
At the moment I am still able to care for myself but I now feel reassured that when I
need more help and care I shall not resist it. I hope there will be a place for me in Prince Michael of Kent now that I have experienced their very high standards throughout.

I used the care home for respite following a major heart operation. The care I received was above and beyond my expectations. The staff were magnification in their caring and helpful nature. The home itself was bright and airy and set out in a series of courts with 8/10 residents in each creating individual
communities within the home.
Would I stay again? Yes when the time comes.

My husband has dementia, he stayed at Prince Michael of Kent for 2 weeks in June. The home is a credit to all who work there. The most important aspect has got to be the care, respect and effort to keep the residents happy and entertained.

I feel so lucky to have found this home for my mother who has dementia. The level of genuine care for the residents is above and beyond expectations. A warm and friendly atmosphere unlike many residential homes has no odour of incontinence.

My mother became a resident after a spell in various hospitals when it became clear she could no longer live at home. We were recommended to Prince Michael by a friend and when we visited to assess the home we had by far the most professional and understanding appraisal.
First impressions are very
good with light and airy public rooms and gardens with happy residents chatting. There is a small bar and even an old Wurlitzer juke box in the lounge.
The care my mum received was second to none, with outstanding carers. Unfortunately she became quite ill quite quickly and the home provided excellent palliative care until she sadly passed away.
I have no hesitation in recommending Prince Michael of Kent Court.

I have a dear friend who started living at Prince Michael of Kent Court just before COVID hit us. I would without hesitation recommend this residential home to anyone. Things have been very difficult the last couple of years but the staff are quite simply wonderful and do all they can to make living
at Prince Michael of Kent Court a good experience. The home is very comfortable and when possible there have been activities. Normal activities are building up again for those who wish to participate. The reason I have only given a 4* for food is that the portions aren’t that generous but I guess that’s normal.

Mum had a bad fall and hurt her hip. She came in for respite, but as she liked it so much she decided to stay. Mum informs my sister and me how lovely and helpful the staff are. She enjoys the meals and is very pleased with her room.
Due to the virus, normal activities are not as usual.

The facility looks like a country hotel. Absolutely no unpleasant odours.
Lovely meals, beautifully presented. Rooms are attractive and well set out.
The facility is spotlessly clean. All staff are professional, personable and very friendly.
Up to COVID, the activity schedule was amazing. Absolutely
the finest care home I have ever visited. Grateful thanks to everyone at Prince Michael of Kent Court.
P.S. Handling of COVID pandemic has been 1st rate.

Since day one, my experience of this care home has been nothing but positive. A 'pod', a room divided by a glass screen, was introduced which has enabled me to visit constantly during the current Covid crisis - something that has been very important for my father. The most important aspect for me is

I joined the team at Prince Michael of Kent Court in 2015. I started as a Receptionist and became the Business Relationship Manager in February 2018. I am responsible for all aspects of residents’ finances, and the administrative procedures within the Home.
