Rated 'Outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission (December 2018), Prince Michael of Kent Court is a purpose-built facility located cloase to the town centre in Watford.

The Home has assistive technology to help engage and entertain residents. A specialist reminiscence garden and lighting is also available to reduce “sundowning,” promoting calmness and providing reassurance.

The Home is divided into five ‘family style’ house group areas, each with their own team of care staff. Each house group has its own comfortable dining room and communal lounge.

The level of care each person receives will depend on their individual needs. This is continuously monitored and reviewed to ensure each person receives the right level of care. Please contact the Home for further information.

The very best possible in care, quality of food, cleanliness and safety which make it a true 'home from home' environment with a relaxing 'holiday' with friends, 5 star accommodation, all inclusive ambience.
The care and attention given by staff is exemplary with the right amount of assistance given
to each resident - good monitoring systems, unregimented, individual attention, but with a sense of freedom - my mother is very happy there and therefore her family is satisfied that she could not be in a better place.

The staff are always friendly and look after the residents well. My Mum is always clean and well looked after. The activities and entertainment are always very enjoyable. The home is very clean and a pleasure to visit.

The staff are welcoming and friendly. The care that is given to the residents is all that you would want. It is a huge relief to know that my dad is well looked after and safe.
The building is well designed so that residents can always sit looking outside in the conservatory, in the main lounge where
there is always something going on or in their own corridors quiet lounge.
I would recommend this home without reservation.

Always a warm and friendly welcome upon arrival from all staff and always informed of any changes in my partner. Very impressive range of activities to stimulate residents. My only area of concern is why a resident is woken up at 5.45 am - far too early.

My mother has been a resident at Prince Michael of Kent Court for the past two years. During this time I have visited her at least once a week. Depending on other commitments my visits have been on different days and times. I have always found the home to be well staffed with a variety of activities
going on. All the staff, laundry, cleaners, carers have always been very friendly and helpful. I have no concerns or worries on leaving my mother in their care. I feel the support and attention she receives could no be bettered.

My friend moved to Prince Michael of Kent Court Care Home at the beginning of December 2015. She is 90 years old and her increasing loss of memory had caused her to become very stressed and unhappy.
Her eldest son arranged for her to come to Prince Michael of Kent Court and I am very relieved to find
her so much happier and relaxed when I visit. The staff are kind and friendly and the surroundings pleasant. I do not know the cost of her care but her son implied that is it fairly expensive but well worth it.

My mother became blind and lost part of her memory thought a series of strokes. She came to the home not knowing her way around or who was there. The professional and caring staff and management soon gave my mother confidence she needed. Now she can walk around and chat to people and join in on some
of the activities and entertainment. Everyone is so friendly and stop and have a chat with mum. The meals are of a very high standard and excellent choice, nothing is too much trouble. Mum gets guidance at meal times in the dining room or wherever she wants to have her meal. Everywhere is so clean and tidy and homely. She thinks the staff are wonderful and so do I. Knowing she is safe and really cared for.

My father has Alzheimer's and has spent the last 8 years in specialized care in Prince Michael of Kent Court. (PMOK). It is an excellent care home. I live in Canada and can only afford to visit my father once a year. The staff at PMOK are excellent and send me monthly newsletters so that I can keep
in touch with what activities and trips that my father is enjoying. In addition they arrange special one on one SKYPE sessions so that I can see and chat with Dad online. This means so much to me and due to the 9 hour time difference, the staff have to arrange to do this late in the evening.


Should they have any special concerns, they get in touch with me at once. This is such wonderful peace of mind, living so far away. I cannot recommend this home and the excellent professional staff enough.

I am overwhelmed by the kindness and commitment shown by all the staff to my mum. She is so happy at Prince Michael of Kent Court and is always saying how lovely everyone is. She must drive them all nuts but they are nothing but patient, warm and affectionate with her. We are all so relieved to know
she is so well cared for and have nothing but praise for the staff.

I had been caring for my Nanny for 8 years in her own home but it all got too much and her care needs continued to get greater. Moving her into PMOK was a massive translation for both of us and I was nervous about handing her care over to others. This was over a year ago now and I am nothing but thrilled
with the care Nanny receives. The love and attention to detail shown by all staff is fantastic. Activities go way above and beyond to keep residents lively and engaged. Nanny's room is wonderful, her personal care is very good, staff are friendly and the home and gardens are kept most beautiful.

My father has been a resident at PMOK for 5 years and I have never felt anything but completely satisfied with the care they have given to home. When he initially moved into PMOK he was mobile and able to join in the variety of activities available- outings- including going to local restaurants, garden
centers and to see the Christmas lights in London, music evenings, fish and chip nights to name just a few. And today when I visited some of the more able residents were going of shopping for new shoes with carers.
Since then his condition has changed and he is not mobile and can have challenging behaviour. However his care has been wonderful and he is able to join in activities when he wishes. His care is personalised - tailored to his needs and moods and the family are also involved. Whenever I visit him the staff are welcoming and friendly, and have observed how they interact with other residents- sitting doing their nails or just holding hands.
One of the reasons that we chose PMOK was the male female ratio.
The Home has a homely feel, great care and I would strongly recommend it to those who reach the criteria.
