The home manager has transformed this home. My mother has had fantastic care and could not be happier. On my mum and dad’s wedding anniversary, the manager and the team at Queensway House Care Home arranged a special event for them and really made their day special. The personal attention to detail
side that has been demonstrated along with great care sets Queensway House apart. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Overall the care was very good. We went regularly to make sure things were running smoothly. The carers were very friendly. Help with the office staff was good. Also very good in making sure medication was given. Overall the stay was satisfactory.

We moved Dad into Queensway after a hospital stay, after he had spent nearly 3 years in another home. Without having had anything to compare to the previous home, we had just assumed it would be more of the same, but we knew they had more nursing abilities at Queensway which is what attracted us to
it. We couldn’t have been more wrong, it’s hard to quantify but the atmosphere at Queensway is completely different - it is bright and energetic and just much, much more friendly. The standard of care is fantastic, and the Manager, obviously genuinely cares. It’s a very hard time for any family seeing a relative slowly decline with dementia, but we feel that the staff at Queensway are there with us.

We moved my father because there were lots of staff leaving his last care home and we weren’t happy with the care at his last home. The care for Dad is night and day. We couldn’t be happier. Everyone is so welcoming, kind and caring. With a man with dementia we didn’t make this move lightly. It was
a hard, but definitely the best move. I will be recommending the home to anyone who will listen.

Wonderful, welcoming atmosphere, extremely caring, professional staff in all areas. I instantly felt safe and confident leaving my beloved husband here, after moving him from another home.
The staff are very caring and friendly, always on hand and work hard to try to make the resident settle in with
as little upset as possible. The rooms are bright and well furnished, the food is attractive and my husband always looks well cared for and settled.
Each member of staff appears to go the extra mile to make us feel welcome as visitors and the manager and her senior staff are always around to support the family as well as the resident.
A very, very encouraging start to our stay in Queensway House. Thank you all.

Visit today. None of the residents was given any attention by the staff - either left to sit in chairs or wander around. One of the staff commented as we came in - around 3pm- that my Aunt's bedroom hadn't been done yet. We sat in the dining room for 20/30 mins then went to put some flowers in her room.
Despite a care worker being in her room sorting it out as we walked in it was still unkempt. I looked in her ensuite toilet and faeces had been walked in and over the floor. I can only imagine what the bedroom had been like before they did their quick tidy-up. I went to find a manager. It took a while to find anyone at all. In the end, I went to the staff locked in the kitchen who told me where to look for the person in charge. When I found her, on a break, and told her there were faeces on the toilet floor she did not look surprised and did not respond with any sense of urgency. I said no one was interacting with the residents she said she did tell people to. This is not care.

My mother came to Queensway House for rehab after a 7 week's stay at the hospital. She was initially very negative that she was being sent out of the area and not where she wanted to be. However, the staff were excellent with her and made her feel less anxious and supported and treated her with kindness
and compassion. She always said the staff were very kind and spent time with her to make her feel more at home. The admin staff, housekeeper and nurses kept us informed of her progress, overall we had a very positive experience.

I am left with no option but to give a review of the lack of concern about this care home.
I have again spoken today to an office staff member who has told me that the missing quilted blanket has been "mislaid" and refused to accept the notion that it might have been stolen. This blanket was quilted
by mother-in-law and gifted as a dying wish to my wife, but has somehow "disappeared". The cost is of no matter, the point is that my wife is now lacking her mother's dying wish.
Please allow your family to be cared for by this facility at your own cost.

I have had a very positive experience with both the business manager and the admin staff. Both ladies have been extremely kind, friendly and helpful, both before my brother-in-law's admission to the care home and ever since. They have both been patient and supportive at all times, especially, initially
when there were many delays and complications regarding my brother-in-law's transfer to Queensway House.

My mother has been a resident for approximately 4.5 years. She is always looked after and I have no complaints because every time I see her she looks well presented and happy. The only thing I would like is for her to have a Complan style drink in the afternoons. Thank you all very much.

Mum has only been here for two weeks and she has settled in very well. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Early days, as Mum is reclusive and takes time to trust! The food is fresh and Mum eats well. There is a good feeling about the building, such as ambience and peace!
