Sunrise of Elstree is a beautiful and caring residential home set in delightful grounds with amazing views.
The staff are always diligent and caring towards my mother and know her well. She has built up a relationship with them as have we.
I would recommend Sunrise of Elstree and have done so, and
throughout the pandemic, I have had regular contact via e-mail or phone as to my mother's wellbeing whilst Government guidelines have not permitted visits. I believe that my mum is in a safe environment and that the health and care of residents is paramount on their agenda.

All the staff are so kind and considerate and have treated my mother with great respect.
I did not have to worry about her well-being during this covid period, despite the difficulty that I was unable to see her, as I knew she was well looked after.

My mother has been at Sunrise for six and a half years. Throughout that time, she has been treated with the utmost care and respect. In the last two years, she has been in reminiscence where the care has been excellent. I can only praise all the staff at Sunrise for the phenomenal job they are doing,
especially in light of the extra problems that the pandemic has brought.
I have no hesitation in recommending Sunrise.

My mother and I visited a few residential homes before we went to Sunrise in July 2017 - just walking in was different: apart from the sweeping staircase and sense of spaciousness, there is The Bistro: an area set up like a little cafe, with small tables around which the residents sit - as we do in
normal life when we meet people. It makes such a difference and for me symbolises the care and understanding that informs the quality of service at Sunrise. The grounds are also lovely and thanks to the setting, the doors are not locked for assisted living residents - another big plus that I've not encountered elsewhere. Crucially, there are 3 or 4 daily activities - my dad is no longer a self-starter and these are vital for his well-being. During Covid lockdown, the staff have been truly great in helping us maintain contact with Dad. In fact, the only problem is that I would like my parents to move near to me, but finding somewhere to match Sunrise is proving a challenge.

This home is superb. The facility is beautiful, like an old fashioned hotel in atmosphere. The gardens and view across London are magnificent. The facilities are comfortable, the place was due for major renovation but that has been postponed continuously. It is spotlessly clean and paintwork etc always
looks fresh. The furnishings are clean and comfortable. Most importantly the caring is sensitive, resident tailored, and proactive. Activities are varied but of course, limited due to Covid. The food is presented well, served as if in a good restaurant and tailored to the needs of the individual resident. All the residents' personal care is superlative, all look well dressed and clean and tidy.

I submitted a review a short time ago commenting about how happy our mother was at Sunrise of Elstree. Subsequent to that email she caught Covid-19 at the home and has sadly passed away. She and four other residents have had the same fate. Whilst I appreciate that no home is completely secure I was
extremely alarmed to receive their marketing emails promoting Covid safety measures that are in place at the home. It is both shocking and shameless that this should be used as a promotional tool when residents have died. Shame on you Sunrise!

My father needed respite care after a fall. Sunrise couldn't do enough for him, to settle him in and care for his needs. We wouldn't hesitate to use the home again. They take covid19 extremely seriously, and we felt secure in that.

I and my two brothers are very pleased with the overall welcome, service and care that is being provided for our Dad, who has just moved in during August.
I personally come from a career in hospitality for the care industry and I genuinely could not fault any of the 12 KPI`s listed below on this survey.

The care my father has received at Sunrise is second to none and the staff have been amazing to my dad - who can sometimes be quite difficult (it's an age thing!).
Last night I got a call from the senior carer to say she was taking my dad to hospital for an urgent CT scan as my dad had fallen last
week and at the time refused to go to hospital. She was meant to finish work at 6 pm. My dad and the senior carer did not return to the home until midnight, 6 hours after she was meant to finish her shift. Thankfully the scan was clear.
All the staff at Sunrise are so friendly and I can speak to anyone about my dad. They are always contactable by phone or email.
Before my dad came to Sunrise, I had looked at several other homes but I didn't think they were right for him. I just didn't get good vibes from the other care homes. The minute I walked into Sunrise, I felt it was the right place for my dad.

Sunrise of Elstree has been excellent in their good care, compassion and understanding of my mother’s needs.
I can’t praise them highly enough for the individual care, cooperation and support during the COVID virus.
As far as I am aware all residents have remained safe.
The manager and her wonderful
team especially 2 members of staff in particular and the concierge and their lovely colleagues too numerous to mention individually have all been very helpful.
We look forward to being able to see mum freely and take her out again but above everything to be to hug her! Thank you Sunrise.

This is a fantastic care home, the staff are fantastic and make so much effort. The location of the care home is great and has a wonderful view from the gardens. The rooms are lovely and very well kept.

It is difficult to give a full and fair review as our mother only moved into Sunrise days before lockdown, and we have been unable to visit her. However, we are aware through telephone and email contact that the team has done their utmost to keep the residents safe and entertained, and have kept in

The new procedure for visitors at Sunrise of Elstree has clearly been put together with great thought for the residents' safety but also their mental well being. It was wonderful to see my Dad and sit and talk to him yesterday after such a long absence, Dementia is a frightening illness. I am so grateful
to all the staff there who show such compassion to their residents. As a family we feel very reassured with the care Dad is receiving, thank you all again.

Since my 95-year-old mother became a resident in February this year, we have nothing but praise for the staff both carers and management. Since the onset of the CV-19 crisis, the team have been exemplary not only keeping the residents occupied but ensuring regular updates to and with family including
video calls etc and constant reassurance on the steps being taken for the safety of all at the Community.

We have found all staff members to be lovely. They try their very best to make life in a care home good for the residents with care, entertainment good food etc. The environment is very nice and the atmosphere welcoming. Cleanliness is also important.

There are not enough words to thank the amazing staff at Sunrise for the care and attention they showed my step mum during her months of respite and to me in the last days of her life. Nothing was too much for them, from the laundry staff to the cleaners to the F and B team to ALL the amazing nurses
and the incredible managers especially. They made sure she was comfortable and clean and well-fed during all her stays. She was so so happy being there and looked forward to going back after her hospital stays. I always knew that she was safe and that she would be well looked after when I left her in the evenings. Thank you all so much for the kindness and care you showed her and the whole family at the end. I can't recommend your care home enough.

My mother was on the second floor, reminiscence, in Sunrise of Elstree, until she passed away several weeks ago.
Sadly we were not able to care for my mother at home with her dementia, and so she moved into Sunrise three and a half years ago.
My family and I have always been very happy with the care
she received there from all members of the staff. They have always been caring and cheerful in what were often difficult situations. The staff have felt like our family and came to know and understand my mother very well.
We were always notified of any changes in her condition in a timely fashion and staff always sought appropriate medical advice.
My mother's room was always kept clean and tidy, and clothing washed very frequently. Again staff doing these jobs were always helpful and cheerful.
My family and I have felt supported by the staff during the time that my mother was in Sunrise of Elstree.

Moving out of the family home after 38 years was the difficult decision I have taken in recent years. I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2010 and due to its progression, I now have 24/7 care. The team at Sunrise have welcomed me into the community and great care has been taken to settle me
in and "feel at home". Those last three words summarise where I hope to be by Christmas this year.
The care home encourages residents to so as much as they can and not forgetting to assist with personal and other tasks. My thanks to all the staff, including those "behind the scenes" for my care and safety.

Dad has been at Sunrise for 6 months now. He has a lovely room - it is spacious and always clean and tidy. The care team do a wonderful job caring for him - especially when he has them up all night! Their kindness and patience is very much appreciated. The activities on offer are excellent and Dad has
enjoyed singing, dancing and trips out. He is safe, happy and well looked after.

I started working in the elderly care sector in 2010 and have been at Elstree View since 2019.


I was promoted from Dementia Care Manager to Deputy Manager in 2022 and to General Manager in 2023.


My background is predominantly in dementia care, and I was extremely proud to complete my postgraduate Master’s in Dementia Studies in 2019.


I am passionate about providing person-centred care for our residents as well as supporting family and friends to be involved in the care of their loved ones.


I find my job hugely rewarding and it is great to work with such a long-serving, committed and caring team here at Elstree View Care Home.

My name is Simona Ciuperca and I am the Deputy Manager at Elstree View.


I started with the company in January 2021 as a Residential Care Manager and I am very happy to call Elstree View home.


I first started working in Care Industry in 2010 initially as a Registered General Nurse. Since then, I have grown and developed in the management area, completing my QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care and Leadership.


I feel very passionate about residents’ care and ensuring that high standards are reached and maintained.


Every resident living in our community has a voice and we are here to support their choices while respecting their dignity and providing them with the support they need to start a new life at Elstree View.

I started working in the care sector 2014 as a care assistant and have worked in various roles within social care, developing my skills and knowledge along the way. I completed my Level 5 diploma in leadership and management in health and social care in 2019. I have been working at Elstree view since July 2022 as the dementia care manager on The Orchids and can honestly say I have enjoyed every minute.

The reason I am so drawn to working in care is knowing that each day I can make a difference in someone’s day no matter how big or small that difference is. Working as a dementia care manager can be challenging at times but I find it truly rewarding.

Everyone deserves to receive the highest standard of care possible so taking a personal-centred approach is a key part of my work ethic. I am very passionate about working with those who are living with dementia and supporting their families. I will also do everything I can to support my residents and their families.

My role as BOC is central to all other departments ensuring the administration function continues to flow smoothly. I am committed to helping the dedicated team, residents and families giving my best at all times. I am a passionate, caring, approachable and respectful person in everything I do. I love my job and feel loved by everyone, always being asked many times how I keep my infectious smile in everything I do.


I started my job 10 years ago as a housekeeper, going room by room where I felt like I was visiting many homes while still carrying out my duties, having a chat with our residents, offering support and respect. After 8 years as a housekeeper, I was given the opportunity to become a Dining assistant, and then more recently I was offered the position of Dining room supervisor where I feel much appreciation from my colleagues and residents, I feel proud that I can demonstrate my abilities, improve my performance, while spending more time with our residents, and obviously not losing my smile.


I am always considering the residents as my parents, I try to comfort them, reassuring them that I’m here to help because I’m a sensitive person. I’m professional and I care very much.

I have been part of the Elstree team since 2007. I started working within the housekeeping team which I very much enjoyed, and I then developed my skills and became part of the care team. This taught me a range of knowledge that has helped me to understand our residents and their needs and preferences. I then became the dining room supervisor which I loved and stayed in this role for 10 Years. I am now the Reception Manager and part of the front-of-house team.

Since starting my career in care in 2005, I gained vast experience, skills, and knowledge, I am happy to apply my DIY skills in a place which I consider not just my home, but my second safe and comfortable one for me and everybody that live and visit our community.


Interacting with residents, having a laugh, a discussion, offering support and attention, it really does make a difference in our and their lives. Every day is different, every day makes my day. Home is where the heart and my toolbox is. Together, we are a family.
