Wisden Court is a purpose-built 54 bedroom care home in Stevenage. This spacious home is comprised of five individual residential suites each with its own lounge, dining room and fully equipped kitchenette. Wisden Court provides expert care for older people, including those living with dementia.

Wisden Court strives to create a homely environment and provide all the comforts of good food, good company and friendly staff, in a calm and restful atmosphere. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished with en-suite wet room facilities and all rooms have 32” televisions mounted on the wall.

The home also has excellent amenities, including comfortable lounges in which residents can relax. In addition, there is a dedicated area for dementia care, designed to enable the residents cared for to maintain their independence in a safe environment.

The activity programme ensures that residents remain stimulated and engaged and their Wellbeing Lead takes into account residents' hobbies, needs and interests. The activities at Wisden Court are varied and alongside enjoying themselves, residents can receive a wide range of health and fitness benefits from taking part.

For those who enjoy the outdoors, there are also three enclosed gardens all of which are easily accessible including wheelchair users.

My brother spent the last year of his life in Wisden Court. The home was run very efficiently, was always immaculately clean and the carers were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble to them and they cared for him. That's all you want from a care home, and Wisden Court provided him with care, patience
and time. Thank you all at Wisden Court.

My mum lived at Wisden Court for a few years. She was cared for exceptionally well, always clean, tidy and presentable when we visited her. Mum loved the meals, especially the soup. Mum had a short stay in hospital and was quite poorly, she couldn't talk very well but did manage to say she wanted to
go home, so to us that said it all. The home was very happy for her to go back and they cared for her till the end of her life. Thank you so very much.

I would not hesitate to recommend Wisden Court to take care of a loved one. My mum has settled and I feel the utmost care, respect and dignity are shown to her and us as her family. All staff are approachable and will keep us updated about Mum's care needs. I feel happy she is only down the road from

Mum spent the last two years and four months of her life in Wisden Court. Sadly she passed away in January but thanks to the exemplary care she received from every member of staff, her final journey was serene and dignified. During her time there she was treated with kindness and love, as was I whenever
I visited. All of the staff are truly amazing and work so hard to make Wisden Court a home from home. I would not hesitate to recommend Wisden Court to anyone who has a loved one who needs to be cared for. Thank you to the team for what you did for my mum and for me.

My father moved into the home in July 2021.
Wisden Court is very homely and welcoming, the staff are extremely kind and understanding to both the residents and families.
The communication from the manager and senior team throughout Covid has been excellent, regular and reassuring.
I would recommend
Wisden Court to anyone needing excellent respite or long-stay care.

The staff at Wisden Court have taken excellent care of my wife for some time now and throughout, they have shown her love, care and respect and during my visits, they have always treated me the same. Once more, I feel compelled to mention how happy my family and I are with the extraordinary care given to my mother and indeed, the family, in any interactions with the home. The wonderful, safe methods applied to allow an indoor visit and to finally hold my mother’s hand has been navigated extremely

Mum has been at Wisden Court for just over 6 years and has never had cause to make any complaint. She has been extremely well looked after and we have to praise all the staff for their extra vigilance during the pandemic, keeping all their staff and residents safe. I don't live near, so can't visit
her, but knowing she is in good hands, is very comforting. Not only do they care about their residents, but also the families, as this is a very hard time for us all. I can have a Skype call with Mum, even though she doesn't recognise me or can speak, but it is just reassuring to see her. This has been a lifeline for me. Hats off to all the staff.

Wisden cared for my father during the last couple of years of his life. I was sufficiently impressed with their care for him that I was only too happy for them to care for my Mother who has now been there for a couple of years. The manager seems to run a "tight ship" which is very reassuring. The staff
are just lovely, and always seem to want to go the extra mile to enrich the lives of the residents.

My mother has been a resident at Wisden Court for some 14 months. I was very apprehensive about my mother going into care. However, since day one she has been so happy and well cared for, that it has put a totally different perspective on what I expected.
The manager and her staff are a well-oiled
team, who put their resident first with empathy and kindness. Throughout the Covid pandemic, the manager has kept a really tight ship which was reassuring. Just to finish with a big thank you.

Prior to Mum moving into Wisden Court I was finding it a real struggle to keep her safe on a daily basis but from day one of Mum being there I have never been in doubt that she is in the best, safest and most suitable home possible. The staff are always helpful, friendly and very professional. Although
I have found it difficult not to see her throughout the Covid-19 lockdown I have been reassured by constantly being updated via phone and Email on any new issues. In addition, the fact I can have Skype chats with her via superb support from the staff has been a real blessing. I have no negative comments of any kind to make with regards to Mum’s care there.
