Wisden Court is a purpose-built 54 bedroom care home in Stevenage. This spacious home is comprised of five individual residential suites each with its own lounge, dining room and fully equipped kitchenette. Wisden Court provides expert care for older people, including those living with dementia.

Wisden Court strives to create a homely environment and provide all the comforts of good food, good company and friendly staff, in a calm and restful atmosphere. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished with en-suite wet room facilities and all rooms have 32” televisions mounted on the wall.

The home also has excellent amenities, including comfortable lounges in which residents can relax. In addition, there is a dedicated area for dementia care, designed to enable the residents cared for to maintain their independence in a safe environment.

The activity programme ensures that residents remain stimulated and engaged and their Wellbeing Lead takes into account residents' hobbies, needs and interests. The activities at Wisden Court are varied and alongside enjoying themselves, residents can receive a wide range of health and fitness benefits from taking part.

For those who enjoy the outdoors, there are also three enclosed gardens all of which are easily accessible including wheelchair users.

My mum has been at Wisden Court for nearly 4 years. I have always been happy with the care mum has received, the home has a pleasant feel and really does feel like a second home to me as all staff are so friendly. Mum feels safe and looked after. Wisden Court have shone during this Covid-19 pandemic,
we haven't been able to visit for obvious reasons, telephone calls aren't easy for my mum as she struggles to communicate verbally, but this hasn't been a problem as they have ensured Skype calls were put in place which means I am still able to see her every week. This gives me such peace of mind as I can see for myself she is ok. During this time where we are still partially in lockdown, there really is nowhere else where I would rather my mum be and am so very grateful to all the staff there for keeping my mum safe.

Mum has been in Wisden Court for just over a year. Although initially, it was a tough decision it has been the best thing we have done for Mum as she is very much happier now than when she was living alone. She is extremely well looked after by caring and dedicated staff. There is a wide variety of
stimulating daily activities which Mum is encouraged to join in with. We are kept informed of any changes to Mum's care package and are encouraged to speak to the staff with any concerns we may have. During this difficult time, due to Covid-19, the home has been well organised and taken many early and continuing precautions, to prevent the virus entering the home. As a family, we have been kept updated on the situation on a regular basis. Overall, Wisden Court has been a Godsend and we couldn't have hoped for better.

My wife has been in this care home for 3-years now after having dementia.
I am extremely happy with the care all the staff provide her.
The home was very well prepared for this coronavirus and gives me reassurance that my wife is being looked after.
The staff are very friendly and keep us regularly
updated on the activities in the home.

Mum had 3 weeks respite here before being moved into another house, wish she could have stayed here as the family found it to have a nice layout. I would highly recommend this care home. Friendly, caring and clean. It puts every individual first and understands how each and everyone has different needs. Dad spent a total of 8 weeks at Wisden Court for respite care during this year. I cannot fault his care. He was always treated with kindness and compassion. The staff are lovely and Dad really enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, a permanent place wasn't available for him, but he is now settled elsewhere.

I was really worried when I was told my mother would have to go into a care home. Then I went to Wisden Court. what a lovely place. Friendly staff and really lovely, airy rooms. Mother settled well which helped a lot, but the staff also helped a lot. The home is in a quiet area. Nicely set out. It is
very well kept. Plenty for the resident to do. They are so caring. I worry no more.

My mother's health improved considerably during her stay at Wisden Court. The staff are caring, willing, patient and cheerful. The building is spacious, light and airy, the rooms clean. The kitchen is excellent, especially as the food is freshly cooked each day. Also, the laundry did a good service.
When I requested a Doctor see my Mother this was done promptly. There is nothing I could fault, you run a superb home.

When it proves necessary, for the safety and security of a loved one, to move into residential care, the physical and emotional challenges can be immense for all concerned. After a lifetime of independence, following my Mother's passing, a hip fracture and worsening memory function due to Alzheimer's,
my Father moved into Wisden Court six months ago. Dad was welcomed and immediately made to feel safe and comfortable in his new environment. The staff took time to get to know him and learn about his family, history and hobbies and he felt pleased and valued by their interest in, and acknowledgement of his life skills and achievements. Without exception, the management and care teams are cheerful and caring to both residents and their families, and unfailingly diligent and respectful in preserving the safety, security and dignity of those vulnerable older people in their care. Rooms and communal areas are airy, comfortable and welcoming and the facilities and entertainments comprehensive. Regular communication is maintained with families, individually where appropriate and, more widely, via newsletter and updates. I am now confident that Dad is safe, secure and above all happy in a well-ordered and peaceful enviironment, with its atmosphere of quiet efficienty.

My brother was a resident of Wisden Court until his death. While he was there the home was completely refurbished, light, airy, more spacious, absolutely brilliant. He was so happy living there, the running and care given to both residents and their families is extremely good. The contact they keep
with relatives is also very good.
I would truthfully recommend Wisden Court as a care home to family and friends.

For the short 2 week visit my mum seemed to be very relaxed, settled easily and pretty happy. Activities were good which kept mum involved and active mentally. Would be nice to use own furniture to make a more "at home feel" and some rooms look cosier than others due to colour schemes. All in all very
happy.

I have been visiting my friend for 3 years now and have found the staff there to be extremely helpful to visitors and residents. The staff would always greet me (and others visiting) with a smile and such warmth. They are interested in the wellbeing of the residents and show this in the way they treat
them. My friend has always expressed how much she liked the staff and how happy she was at Wisden. I would most definitely recommend.
