Pinewood Lodge care home is situated in a quiet residential area of South Oxhey and offers a range of care services including residential care, specialist dementia care and respite care. The home also offers day care services for older people, an ideal service if you are caring for a loved one but need to take time off and just want to know that your loved one is being well taken care of for the day.

Within the home you'll find a number of welcoming areas including inviting lounges and dining rooms as well as cosy corners and other areas. Each bedroom is ensuite, full furnished for residents' comfort and comes complete with amenities including a nurse call system, Wi-Fi and a TV. There's also a café where residents can sit and relax with family and friends over tea, coffee and other refreshments.

Outside the home, the beautiful landscaped gardens offer residents a the perfect place to relax in the spring and summer months.

Pinewood Lodge's dedicated activities worker ensures that there are always activities available for residents to take part in and look forward to.

We have nothing but positive things to say about Pinewood, particularly the Windsor ward. They have provided excellent care to my mother-in-law, they are always pleasant when we visit and are excellent communicators, particularly two staff members. This is a whole new world to us and they have made
the transition very smooth for us so far!

Poor attitude of certain staff members and for someone who should get 24/7 care does not receive this, and want cash to attend appointments which is a disgrace when paying for care. Not our fault they are short-staffed as we don’t get any reduced rate so why are we paying extra also when it comes to
health matters. It feels like a lot gets missed and it’s a fight to get what you need.

We pride ourselves on offering a high quality of service at Pinewood Lodge and can only apologise if this has not been your experience. We understand that the management team at the home have been in contact with you directly to arrange a meeting to discuss your concerns.
When a resident needs to attend a health appointment and a member of staff needs to accompany the resident, we have to replace the member of staff at the home to maintain the level of care and support for other residents. We do have a policy therefore to charge for a member of staff to attend hospital appointments with residents and this policy can be viewed in our Care Home Contract which is located on our website www.quantumcare.co.uk

I put my mum here for a week so I could have a carer's rest.
Everything was absolutely fantastic, I couldn't really ask for more in the way that my mum was cared for in my absence.
Every single member of staff here has attended my mum's needs and it is very much appreciated.

Overall, very good. But it's a shame that management would not share basic medical details (even though LPA has been applied for). When she went to her new home, I was unable to assist with meds, which resulted in many calls to the GP.

This is sadly the day (18/4/23) that my mum passed away at the grand age of 94. My mum has always received excellent care and was treated with dignity. She was in Pinewood Lodge for over three years, all through the Covid years and although she had dementia, she was always treated with respect. Her
sons can't thank the wonderful staff enough for looking after her.

My Mum spent 5 weeks at Pinewood Lodge following a stay in hospital. I can’t fault the care she received there, everyone was so courteous and caring to the residents and also as a visitor I was made very welcome.
The food was extremely good and the menus are varied. After months of not eating properly
Mum started enjoying her meals and gained weight during her stay. I felt totally reassured that she was receiving the best possible care.

My gran is treated with care and dignity. The staff are always kind and friendly. During Covid restrictions Pinewood gave us regular updates and when restrictions started to lift they put in adaptations for us to visit safely. We were very grateful for this. I have found the management staff at Pinewood have been excellent. My brother has been very well cared for, made comfortable and settled. Thank you all for all your hard work and care.
He seems to have gotten more involved in activities recently, which is great. I do feel that he should be further
encouraged to join in and even get taken out in the garden or for trips outside the care home.

I was told by a friend to avoid care homes that smelt of urine. I can honestly say that Pinewood Lodge always smelt clean and public areas were very clean, neat and tidy. My mum had a bad start, a couple of months after she lived in there she fell out of bed and broke a bone in her neck. She was very
well looked after and recovered after about 9 months. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Residents are well looked after. Poor mark for fees as many residents don't pay.

My Mother-In-Law has well looked after. She is happy. A carer told us she likes reading. I found on the internet suitable reading books for people with dementia. She was pleased with the book, it was a short story with illustrations.

My former neighbour has been resident for coming up to 2-years. I have always been impressed by the care they receive, but the Lodge has done an amazing job in the face of COVID-19. They have arranged outside visits, hence I could see one of my friends. It was difficult to see people I have known for
nearly 30-years move into a home, but the fantastic staff means I need to have no concerns. Thank you to all.
