Magnolia House is located near to shops and the award-winning golden beach at Sandown. This Victorian building has many original features and in 2008 an extension was completed. There is a nice combination of contemporary and Victorian trends. Some rooms benefit from beautiful sea views and there is a large car park available for visitors.

Residents are encouraged to bring in personal items such as ornaments, clocks, photographs and such like to enable them to feel totally at home during their stay. More than half the rooms have en-suite facilities and some rooms have direct access to the garden.

Magnolia House was the third of four homes that form St Vincent Care Homes Ltd and is a family run residential care home, specialising in care for the elderly with dementia.

Loved ones have described the care at Magnolia House as 'Excellent care in a loving environment'. This is largely down to he hard work of the caring team.

My husband was only in care for fourteen weeks but in all that time he was very happy and content at Magnolia House. All the staff were very pleasant, greeting me by my first name and making me feel at home. My husband was well taken care of and always spoke well of all the staff. Magnolia House is
a very happy house.

The care Mother received in Magnolia House was excellent. The staff are very caring and the home is very well run. We were lucky that Mother went there and spent her last days being well looked after.

My dad has only been at this residence for one week. It was his birthday and the home put on a lovely birthday tea for his friends to attend. It was the first time my mum had visited my dad and she was nervous but the staff put her mind at rest that he was being well cared for. They have been very supportive
at this difficult time with my family. 100 out of 100. Thank you so much.

My stepdad came into Magnolia House for respite with a view to being permanent. The staff are really caring and it is a lovely friendly home, they cannot do enough for you. The rooms are very clean and they have loads of activities, the activities guy is so interactive with everyone. I highly recommend
Magnolia House to anyone. I am really happy with everything for my stepdad.

I must start by saying that individual staff members are very caring, lovely people. I believe that the home is quite understaffed and that people are pushed to their limits. Disappointed that dirty, wet beds can be left and room can be smelly. Biggest issue is the lack of activities. Activity coordinator
is often used as an extra 'pair of hands' with other matters and cannot concentrate on activities for other residents.

My mother desperately did not want to go into a care home. It took a little while to settle in but she lasted 5 years, where the care was truly excellent and she was happy. A testament to all the staff, whose dedication made this possible.

My mum came to Magnolia following the closure of her old home and within weeks there was a significant improvement in her physical well being. Staff are all approachable and have a good knowledge of Mum as a person as well as a resident - the activity coordinator was a particular favourite of hers
and is an excellent addition to the staff team.
As we all live on the mainland, communication with the home was always excellent. It is a busy home so may not suit someone who prefers a quieter environment but this does not distract from the level of support and care given to individuals. Staff appeared up to date with all mandatory training. The environment is always clean and improvements are being made continually that will enhance the good standard of care already in place. Mum's deteriorating health has unfortunately meant a change in accommodation and I only hope we are as satisfied with the care at the new home as we have been at Magnolia. Thank you.

I joined the Magnolia family in July 2023 and have had the privilege of working with a fantastic team and together we have created a home which delivers the highest standard of care. we strive to provide a personalised, homely, happy environment and to ensure we all respect every individual's choices and wishes.
I have been in the care sector for over 17 years and continue to find the role rewarding.
I have two horses and two Labradors who keep me busy in my spare time.

Hello my name is Kelly and I am the deputy manager at Magnolia House, I have been working here since December 2023. I thoroughly enjoy my role and being part of the dedicated Magnolia family. I have always worked in the Health and Social care sector, I initially started in the care sector 27 years ago. I am passionate about working with the elderly and ensuring that they have a high-quality of care that they deserve. My role is to ensure the day-to-day running of the home is as smooth as possible by supporting the team and ensuring that our residents are being provided with person-centred care.


I work alongside a variety of health care professionals to ensure that our residents are well supported I have also built strong relationships with them.


I pride myself on the relationships formed with staff, residents and their families. I am very proud to be a part of such a wonderful team. I joined the Magnolia family in 2021, as part of the administration team. I feel very privileged to work at Magnolia House, the staff and residents are what make the home such a wonderful place, and I find my job very rewarding knowing what a difference I make to the team and the residents. I very much enjoy supporting the home and spending time with residents when the home holds events.


Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my dog Brenda going on long walks along the beach.
