My mum has been a resident of Chippendayle Lodge for the last year. All the staff are an absolute asset to the company as the care they give is top quality. Whatever concern or reassurance we have needed has always been met by the staff and we can not ask for more to be done knowing that our mother
is in a loving and caring environment gives at peace at mind.

My husband has great care at Chippendayle Lodge, good carers, always being kept clean and smart. My only gripe is I think the dinner could be a little bigger as some residents still have good appetites. The meals are well balanced, I visit regularly. The meals are well prepared with a good variety but
just a little small. Especially as they only have 1 cooked meal a day. Always plenty of juice for them.

Reply from Cem Osman, P/A to the Director at Chippendayle Lodge Care Home

We offer all our residents nutritionally, well balanced meals. If any resident would like a bigger portion or second helpings that is not a problem. Our staff may serve smaller portions, as we have found presenting some residents with a large meal can be off-putting for them. Chippendayle offers residents a hot meal choice at lunch and dinner, plus a cooked breakfast (should they wish).

My sister, the resident in this care home, settled well from day one. The staff are very caring and kind. The food is really excellent. If the need arises in the future, I have told my sons that I would be very happy to go there.

My brother-in-law has been happy for the past four years. Staff were very good and helpful.

My brother-in-law looked on the home as his home and was very happy there. The food was very good.

My mother was admitted in Feb 2017 initially into their respite room and subsequently into a permanent room; she is well looked after and is gaining weight well as she likes the food provided. The staff are always very helpful whatever time I visit. The garden outside is much enjoyed now summer is here
and gives an opportunity for more exercise and a topic for conversation. Chippendayle Lodge is the perfect place to look after mum and cope brilliantly with her complicated medical needs and daily care.

The above home is exemplary. I cannot find fault. The staff (although underpaid) are brilliant, hardworking and friendly. The management (at the home) are proficient and helpful beyond measure.

My nan has been living at Chippendayle Lodge for 8 months now and we have nothing but praise for the service! My nan has 'come alive' again! All standards are exceptionally high and it is like 'home away from home'. You can easily see that all the staff there including the chefs really care for the
residents and it's not just a job. We as a family can not recommend this care home enough. :)

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.269)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.269) out of 10 for Chippendayle Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.504 for Chippendayle Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (80 Excellents x 5) + (24 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (6 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 117 Ratings = 4.504

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.765 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Chippendayle Lodge Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 registered maximum number of service users is 10.4. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.4 = 0.865

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
