Court Regis care home, located on the outskirts of Sittingbourne in Kent, is a care facility providing residential care for older people living with dementia.

Court Regis provides a wealth of support services for people living with dementia, with the aim of not just providing care and comfort, but also a new, positive and more engaging stage in their lives. The team of qualified and attentive staff provide 24-hour specialist person-centred dementia care.

The home has several large lounges with windows overlooking either the courtyard garden at the rear of the home or the landscaped garden at the front of the home.

Court Regis has two dining rooms, one larger that can be used for ‘getting together’ and one smaller one for more relaxed and informal dining.

At the heart of Court Regis is its Philosophy of Care, The Eden Alternative, where social interaction and engagement are encouraged and boredom is eradicated by addressing the ‘three plagues’; loneliness, helplessness and boredom within the home.

Court Regis has been recognised and included in the exclusive Eden Alternative registry of care homes.

Staff have always been caring, supportive of my mum and her family. The managers and carers are always keeping in touch with any concern for welfare. They are friendly, welcoming and have always treated mum with dignity, respect and as an individual. I wanted to ensure that mum and dad were looked after
here at Court Regis.

I find this day centre extremely good, paying special attention to people's needs, such as dementia. I would recommend this unit.

The Willows in the grounds of Court Regis, is a wonderful day centre. It supports not only the person living with dementia but the family too. It allowd me much needed respite, without this I am sure my mum would be in full time care by now. My mum has attended for 5 years now.
I know when she goes
there, she is safe, happy and well fed with lots to drink. I cannot thank the staff enough.

I thought the home was very clean and bright. The staff were positive, engaged and caring. They showed genuine kindness and care and I felt pleased that my aunts final years were somewhere so safe. I would definitely recommend this as a good place to stay.

From the moment I visited Court Regis, I was impressed by the positive and welcoming attitude of the staff members I met.
When the decision was reached to admit my aunt I was helped during that process. She was received from hospital with kindness and respect and was encouraged to settle into the
life of the home.

My Mum was a resident at Court Regis and although she was a solitary person, she seemed at home in her room. The care staff were excellent and I couldn't have asked any more from them, nor could they have done any more. As the end approached for Mum, the staff couldn't have been more kind and considerate.
My family and I have nothing but praise for everyone at Court Regis care home.

My father has been in Court Regis for the past 18 months. He has been very well cared for, staff treat him with respect and dignity and he is very happy and content. Overall care and support are very good, management is excellent doing all they can to keep him safe. After a recent spell in hospital,
Court Regis has done an amazing job of getting my father back to eating a drinking better.

My father has been a resident of Court Regis for 20 months. He has received excellent care from a dedicated and friendly staff. The recent refurbishment of Court Regis has added to its appeal. It is a place you would be happy for your loved one to be.

Since the refurbishing the home looks and functions a lot better. It was suggested by the management that my mother moved room. This new room has a garden door.
Mum has been allowed to keep her dog which has made her stay 100% better.
Recently Mum has had several falls.
I have been informed straight
away of the incident and of Mum's condition.
Mum has settled down and is happy as am I.
All the care girls are lovely.

Court Regis Care Home - moving my mother here was one of the best things ever done. She is 93 years old, fell at her own home, breaking her hip. Since being at Court Regis she has had amazing care, the dedication and support of staff have given mum confidence with walking again. Nothing is too much
trouble, all residents are looked after, meals are really good with plenty of choices. Activities are planned to be totally inclusive. The resident's wishes are paramount, this is evident at all times. I would recommend Court Regis wholeheartedly.

My sister and I knew straight away that Court Regis was the right care home for my Dad - it had the 'right vibes'.
We were right!
The staff are all great and obviously know and care about all their residents.
Everyone within the home is treated with respect and dignity.
The residents are able to
join in a variety of social events and are able to maintain their independence (according to their capabilities) within a safe and happy environment.

I am forever grateful for the care that the staff have shown to my father since his hospital stay in February. He has been treated with professionalism but also care and deep affection. What is also remarkable is the is the way it has also been extended to his wife and family through what was and continues
to be a very difficult time. The care with which management recruit their staff in order to maintain the ethos of the home is to be congratulated.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.989)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.989) out of 10 for Court Regis is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.833 for Court Regis is calculated as follows: ( (61 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.833

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.156 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Court Regis is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 54 registered maximum number of service users is 10.8. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.8 = 0.556

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
